@@surreyscouse2873 yup, because we had additional capacity there. The whole reason why they didn't get shut down. Hence, the lights stay on... I guess you find the electrical industry confusing.
Ironically draxs biomass carbon footprint is probably the same as Kingsnorth was when you consider how many miles the wood chip has travelled, not to mention the millions of trees that were cut down to produce the wood chip. Seems things are easier and cleaner when you do things properly in your own country.
I won my case unanimously, because I told the truth & D&A lied, the tribunal stopped just short of naming them as perjurers in their written judgement. Put that with your experience.
I sat on a ship at Mooring 24 opposite Kingsnorth for a week in October 1999.
Served my apprenticeship there in MMD 1983 great place to work with great people
Did mine in the North Western region.. Agecroft, 1984.
I was at Grain in 1982, loved it there.
I worked there for Siemens. Shame it closed I enjoyed it there
Well, they pulled these places down and now wonder why the lights won't stay on?
The lights are still staying on...
@@Eddiecurrent2000 Hmm, due to DRAX and firing Ratcliffe up last winter, otherwise they'd have gone out.

Was there 1988 - 1992.

Another victim of the rush for gas and Maggie's privatisation policies. Now look what mess we're in!
Great video, thank you for uploading that. I'm guessing it was make either early of mid 80s. Could you tell me what year?
Frank Cogswell @ 9:54?
Shame to see it go, but go it must.
John Rye at 9.27?!
Stuart Gleisnger got D&A to sack me on Christmas Eve ‘93, the industrial tribunal awarded me £8500. All the worse Stuart.
In my experience there are 2 sides to every story.
