I actually like the new Southwest livery. But I miss the American old livery although I can't imagine it on something like a 787. It was a stunner on the 737 though.
It does appear as if the pilots in the AA were thinking, "We have the 800 you guys are still flying the 700...it's time to UPGRADE! Alright, Capt you know what to do let's pick it up. [ZO0oom]" Sike! I still love the SW and the 700s. :)
@SuperFLDude Pretty common at SFO. There's parallel separation of 750 feet between the runways, so parallel ops is suspended and the ops temp slows down during foggy conditions (every morning, more or less). SFO is one of the few airports where early morning flights are the most delayed.
I'm sure FAA separation regulations doesn't stand at this point only because they're landing at much safer and slower speeds to be able to avoid each other anyway. Now if there were any sign of strong crosswinds I don't see ATC allowing approaches this close that'd be bizarre.
SWA: Looks like I'm going in first.... AA; (SNeeking up from behind) SWA: Home sweet home... AA: Zooms passed.....NA NA....Can't catch Me... :P SWA: Son fo a B**ch!!!
There is a Score Board in the ATC room, and you score when you achieve a Parallel landing! In the end of the day the loser has to pay the beers. OK NO, but it would be cool anyway hahahahaha
Southwest : i will win this race American Airlines : you sure? Southwest: ofcourse Im sure American Airlines: bye bye MADAFAKA!!! Southwest: NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!
MayB1997 this happens all the time. The two runways are far enough apart where a collision is not an imminent concern. If you've ever seen how traffic is handled at Miami, Atlanta or LAX you'd understand better.
no idea this is real case with fully loaded of passengers or just a "show" with empty seats. If this is former, this is absolutely a STUPID thing ever in the world. The stupid AA pilot and radio tower should be all sacked with their stupid action.
Man I can’t believe AA used that livery until 2013. It looks so retro.
aviation never ceases to amaze me
How perfect timing can that be...
That's so cool
Wow! That was awesome! Beautiful surroundings too! I miss the Bay Area! Go 49ers! =D
Back when both airlines had better liveries than 2018!

@papergunmaster123654 the AA is a 767-300ER probably coming from NY. The 767 is AA cross country jet.

Beautiful video!
Wow that's awesome : )
AA was just showing off. Clearly racing them to the lead! haha
good video though :D
Hammer! Super Schuss :-)
awesome video
That is very great and skillful
Man, I miss that bare metal livery on AA.
Very good video...!
Old 2010 approach that’s the year I was born
@erumiselli the AA jet is a 767-300ER
Amazing video!!!! :-)
Excellent!
Both plane are Boeing 737 :)

Nice video!!!
Revelry between the airlines! Who has the best landing!
Yes. They are.
THATS WHAT I WAS THINKING BUT I THINK SOUTHWEST ONE BY ALITTLE BUT I COULDN'T TELL AT THE END
They landed on different runways, ofcouse is allowed.
I wonder why this didn't violate horizontal separation rules. As we'd say in the Southern USA, jess sayin ....
Good timing!
the american airlines had a ruff landing .southwest was smooth
Of course ;)
Oh ok thanks for the clarification.
great capture it looks amazing i hope i can flim somthing like ones. thanks
Seems like 1 person was flying Southwest and lost the race!!!
the blue one did more better landing as it landed where it was suppose to while other had more speed and landed somewhat afterwards :)
Both touched down at the same time
As long as each pilot has a visual on the other, yes.
Smoothest landing determines this one... who did better?
Funny how they approached at drastically different pitch attitudes.
Same thing in Houston and Orlando.
Airliners landing in formation?
Wrong. The simple landing gear, and similar tail structure to the Southwest would indicate its also a member of the 737 family, and is indeed a -800.
It's super. :D
How long is separation between RWYs?
AA plane is probably heavier, thus has higher approach speed.
You know is the runway how close they are thats why they almost close
cool nettes Video
yeeeah
This is a race!
it doesn't get any more parallel and in sync than this
B 737 800 : GET OUT OF MY WAY BROTHER !
lol, this seems to happen a lot in SFO.
SWA: Looks like I'm going in first....
AA; (SNeeking up from behind)
SWA: Home sweet home...
AA: Zooms passed.....NA NA....Can't catch Me... :P
SWA: Son fo a B**ch!!!
Last one down buys the drinks...
How do you know that?
Haha, everyone is saying AA won... In my opinion the one with the lower approach speed has won... and that would be the Southwest...
Waw Exsiste
coming close together?
Surgically amputating the roll out, Why?
It's about 400 ft.
That's what the Internet says.
they were probably landing at 280kias
Airplane drag racing at it's finest...
And the American takes the lead, but no, it's a photo finish.... let's check the video....
Is this allowed?
My bet was on the American Airlines airplane, YEAH! We win.😂
@MrJRussell1987 i saw it on my First ever flight! :D
Pretty much a draw
The AA Plane is a 737-800 not a 767-300'
@xXShowtubeXx 737-800 AA and SWA 737-700 :-)
american airlines: i beat your every time mr southwest haha
Go SOUTHWEST!
they landed at the same time: 0:23
All hail CAT III ILS
Que serían 737 y 767
wow boieng vs boieng
no it is a 737 800
what irony!!!! they're both 737s!!! (different variations, though, i think......)
boy that asiana pilot was way off mark from that touch down zone
Are planes allowed to be that close?!?!
Plane Drag 0-400 feet :)

OK NO, but it would be cool anyway hahahahaha
If it's not okay, I've seen a lot of not okays for RUclips and real life landings.
that's the only way it could have happened...
Southwest : i will win this race
American Airlines : you sure?
Southwest: ofcourse Im sure
American Airlines: bye bye MADAFAKA!!!
Southwest: NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!
southwest landing was way smoother!
either way one of them got fired...
normaly thats not ok, you cant clear two aircrafts landing on paralel runways, imagine both have to go around ... not ok i think
MayB1997 this happens all the time. The two runways are far enough apart where a collision is not an imminent concern. If you've ever seen how traffic is handled at Miami, Atlanta or LAX you'd understand better.
and the winner is white one..... hurray
(silver)
(Amercian Airlines)
Passengers be like OMG we gonna crash
Fired for what?
American airlines win!!!!!!!!!
3 years before disaster
american airlines was just racing...
800 vs 700.
More like 130 kias
LOL
Stupid approach control.
Ho Lee Fuk

Clearly, you were last in line when 'smarts' were being handed out.
