@@ohhhhh6269 It seems that this video lasted to about when the two SRBs were jettisoned (when the smoking stopped), at which point the speed was still less than 1/5 of its orbital speed.
Well to be perfectly honest, in my humble opinion, of course without offending anyone who thinks differently from my point of view, but also by looking into this matter in a different perspective and without being condemning of one's view's and by trying to make it objectified, and by considering each and every one's valid opinion, I honestly believe that I completely forgot what I was going to say.
I cannot resist my temptation to get my panties in a twist here, although I understand the joke. Its not about flat earthers disliking this video. Its about people who demand that just one proof is required that one space shuttle launch has resulted in the craft leaving the atmosphere.
They are here in the comments and they say that the rockets make a curve because they cannot pass the firmament and and then go down to the ocean and never reach space. They have no idea what "orbit" is and think that rockets should go straight up...
And to top it off they feel the need to say it’s fake because it’s not going straight up like they know how things should work. Extremely ignorant and arrogant, it’s the narcissistic generation...

Actually there are many flat earth comments here. They don't know how orbit works, and so they think that a rocket should go straight up. And so they see the rocket curving and say, that they do it because they cannot pass the dome and that the rocket goes down after it is out of sight.
*Q:Why do rockets curve when they fly into space instead of going straight up?* A: If a rocket just flew straight up, then it would fall right back down to Earth when it ran out of fuel! Rockets have to tilt to the side as they travel into the sky in order to reach orbit, or a circular path of motion around the Earth. This steering technique is known as a gravity turn, which uses Earth's gravity to help conserve rocket fuel and minimize stress and strain on the spacecraft. This works by rotating the spacecraft until its heavier side is facing down to help curve its flight into orbit. Source: howthingsfly.si.edu/ask-an-explainer/why-do-rockets-curve-when-they-fly-space-instead-going-straight
Well I wonder ..if rockets fall straight down after running out if fuel...then how the he'll did we make it to the moon. ..if we had 3 days worth of feul and 3 days back...a week with no fill up?
W7KMS that's debatable really. Also, it depends from person to person. I would say that we haven't done anything substantial enough. Going to moon looks big from Earth but if you think of the entire Universe consisting of millions of Galaxies consisting of millions of solar system consisting of millions of planets and we have managed to reach the one closest to us, doesn't make me feel special at all.
I find it so heartening that things like rocket launches still bring out the wonder and awe in us, because they really and truly are such a spectacular achievement for humanity.
@RUclips Commentator Well let's see what would happen if newsmedia and the pundit class decided to talk up a launch rather than try to pick nits with everything because the 'wrong' party won and provoke hatred because it can be blamed on said 'wrong' party... don't think there'd be many riots, and probably a lot less homeless. ByteMe Very. We really need to improve our eductional systems and teach our children how to separate the weat from the chaff when they search the web. It won't solve the problem entirely but maybe it helps a bit.
We really need to add basic orbital mechanics to the curriculum of all countries, the amount of people that don't understand that rockets can't just go up to get into orbit is staggering!!
Yes, but also for science kids books... It is weird, I was even interested in all this stuff already as a child, read books about it etc. It is never really explained. Later I had physics even as a focus in high school, but still I was not really firm in that and also often wonders about things that seem to be contradictionary. Although it is really not complicated and it would be easy to explain even in kids books. I often link this video here: ruclips.net/video/ALRdYPMpqQs/видео.html But the "There is no gravity in space" misconception are so wide spread! Also in usually good media, also among more educated people. I don't know where that come from. Maybe the authors of science books (also for kids) think so natural, that of course gravity is a force between everything, is the reason why celestial objects orbit, has nothing to do with "space" etc. So they don't feel the need to explain it. But still, all the videos (real videos or science fiction movies) show "floating astronauts", so people think "you float in space". When you watch a video of Felix Baumgartners Stratosphere jump (misleading ttitles as "space" jump) on youtube, the comment section is full of people who ask "Why does he fall instead of floating" or "I thought there is not gravity in space". And then there are people who know about the project, but not about physics and say "He is in the stratosphere, not in space" or "He was very high up near the border to space, but not really in space, gravity still pulled on him".

If you dig around you can probably find similar documentation for recent SpaceX launches, crew Dragon demo-2 for example was launched from Kennedy Space Center (KSC) as always and had planned abort scenarios. One was near that island off the Canadian coast and the other somewhere near Ireland. I would have expected there to be guidance about not having airplanes and ships in those areas.

And then there are flat earthers who believe there is a dome around Earth, even though videos like this exist.
Actually there are many flat earth comments here. They don't know how orbit works, and so they think that a rocket should go straight up. And so they see the rocket curving and say, that they do it because they cannot pass the dome and that the rocket goes down after it is out of sight.
*Q:Why do rockets curve when they fly into space instead of going straight up?*
A:
If a rocket just flew straight up, then it would fall right back down to Earth when it ran out of fuel!
Source: howthingsfly.si.edu/ask-an-explainer/why-do-rockets-curve-when-they-fly-space-instead-going-straight

..if rockets fall straight down after running out if fuel...then how the he'll did we make it to the moon. ..if we had 3 days worth of feul and 3 days back...a week with no fill up?

It's pretty amazing what we've accomplished.
W7KMS that's debatable really. Also, it depends from person to person. I would say that we haven't done anything substantial enough. Very. We really need to improve our eductional systems and teach our children how to separate the weat from the chaff when they search the web. It won't solve the problem entirely but maybe it helps a bit.
rockets don't work in space buddy boys.
I often link this video here:
ruclips.net/video/ALRdYPMpqQs/видео.html
But the "There is no gravity in space" misconception are so wide spread!
