Other people would have made this into a 40 min two part tutorial. Thank you for not being slow and going straight through it so we can pause and watch what we need.
Probably the best aura tutorial on youtube. What disturbs me, however, is that when the character actually moves, he leaves a very long trail of particles behind him. Isn't there a way to make them stick closer to the character's body when he moves? The only way I've found is to shorten its lifetime, but by doing this when the character is still, it flickers a lot.
if you use Ribbon Trail, would work, yes. you did good. reduce the lifetime is quick solution.. I'll make dash trail fx tutorial later. but I'm not sure when,..
i want to be able to add another colour on the outside of the aura, alot of auras from anime have an additional colour the highlights the outside. the frensel node sort of does this, but the colour is not customizable. If you look at some auras from like dragonball super that might make what im saying have a bit more sense
@@jeht223 if you use color curve in material, that will work. i use that in here. ruclips.net/video/FiPtPMnCzNw/видео.html but as a tutorial, I'm not sure when i can make it .
@@RainRainFX It's the same as using two skeletal meshes, just more convenient to setup and "cleaner". Not super cheap. Regardless, I like your tutorial. Thank you for taking the time to make it.

Hey! Great tutorial, is there anyway to add an outline colour to the aura?
Hi could i know more specific?

thanks for the tutorial, is amaizing!
Is it possible to smooth the edge of the aura (for instance the edges under the chin)?
yes ruclips.net/video/FiPtPMnCzNw/видео.html
Keep in mind that you are rendering the character twice when doing this.
Overlay Material is render twice? it using only 1 skeletal mesh.
@@RainRainFX Overlay material renders the mesh again in a separate translucency pass.
You get two drawcalls for it.
@@Cloroqx ah yes. that is true. but overlay is better way than use two skeletal mesh. but best way will be one skeletal mesh with 1 material.

@@Cloroqx I also thank you to talk with me. i learned by you also
Is there any way to add this only to the hands of the character?
@@yoapolloboymake aura particles and attach to hands of character

In Unreal Engine 5.4 , 1:20 it doesn't work.
ur the best
Is there a way to do this in UE4?
overlay material is avilable from 5 version, so for unreal4 . maybe put material itself to actual character material would works/.
I just discovered your channel wow, definitely the best vfx tutorial I've seen lol
