I’m glad they decided to go with Scott instead of Pym as Ant-Man. The MCU has a lot of smart science people. Lang brings something new to the table

Luis is of course the low key MVP. I could listen to him tell stories with a bongo background for a full movie.
The older black guy in the car is Garrett Morris original SNL cast member. He's the first person to play Ant-Man in an SNL skit way back when.
The end of phase 2 and such a lighthearted but important movie in the MCU , and also fun fact: in the comics the original Avengers team were Iron Man, Thor, Hulk. Ant-Man and Wasp but it was the Hank Pym version of Ant-Man
Phase 3 is where everything gets crazy. About to see Marvel truly on their A+ game.
So, if you guys are ever going to watch the WandaVision TV series, you need to watch the X-Men First Class movies prior to that, probably all the 20th Century Fox X-men movies but definitely X-Men First Class movies. Realize in the late 80s & 90s Marvel was struggling financially & so they sold movie rights off to Sony for the Spider-Man character & his adjacent characters, A German company bought the rights to Fantastic Four, but with distribution rights only through 20th Century Fox, Blade to New Line Cinema, then Paramount bought the rights to Namor & the Hulk. Marvel worked out an agreement for using Hulk around the time that the Incredible Hulk was released & later with Sony to include Spider-man. Namor didn't get used by Paramount so those rights reverted to Marvel after a period of time, just like Blade when those movies quit being made. Once Disney bought Marvel they managed to purchase up 20th Century Fox cinema to reclaim the X-men franchise & because the German company could no longer distribute Fantastic 4 movies the rights have finally reverted to Marvel, but they still have to wait a bit before they can reintroduce those characters, but it is coming. At this point Disney/Marvel owns all the movie rights again except for Spider-man & his adjacent characters (Venom, Carnage, Mobius, Kraven, Green Goblin (Osborns), Doctor Octopus, The Lizard, Shocker, Sandman & Madam Webb) and the Hulk. Marvel also had an agreement with Netflix to make street level heroes, Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage & Iron Fist, plus a hero group name called the Defenders, which are all excellent shows except Iron Fist & The Defenders, which turned out meh. They also made a spin-off from Daredevil of Punisher. Those Netflix shows have moved to Disney+ under the mature flag. They also had shows that were distributed through ABC-Family (Freeform) called The Runaways, Cloak & Dagger and Helstrom. Helstrom is a stand-a-lone horror theme series with no cross-over that I recall. Hope this helps a bit & glad to see you are having fun with the movies.
Something to know about the villain of this movie is Hawk Pym was the original yellow jacket and he took this identity after he took a more villainous persona after almost killing his wife Janet Van dyne with ants. The MCU version of the characters never confirmed this but I believe it did happen in a different way because in the comic book he just did it because he was a horrible person. I think it happened in the MCU but it was because of the Pym particles affecting his brain chemistry like they did Darren cross.
In the comics, Hank Pym and his wife Jan were founding members of the Avengers. It's the Wasp who named them the Avengers. Captain America didn't get unfrozen till about issue 4 or 5.
Hank Pym, in the comics, was technically the first marvel character. It was a character that they saved when they switched from timely comics to Marvel comics. He was the one that created Ultron not Tony Stark. Plus, he was the founding member of the avengers in the comics.

The "It's about damn time" is kind of a inside joke, because Wasp was one it the original five avengers, with thor, Hulk, iron man and ant man.
Make sure not to skip the shows that premiered on Netflix, especially Daredevil!
