You’re a good man. I never thought I’d see the day with such thorough context in a video game I grew up with, thrown away by the passage of time. Thank you for re-elucidating such nastalgia. Thank you.
Pros and cons of Light Tanks Pros 1. Cost one full ore load to afford (an ore load is the max amount of ore an ore truck can carry in one trip) 2. Fast (arguably better scout than ranger) 3. High rate of fire (highest rate of any tank) 4. Quick to produce 5. Arguably the Allies main tank killer especially in open terrain and packs (stupidly effective against mammies) Cons 1. Doesn’t handle Tesla bolts all that well 2. Can’t stand on the front lines of a stationary tank battle 3. Can get embarrassed by small groups of $160 grenadiers
Regarding Legacy of Tesla: the Allied MiG prototype will also begin attacking you if you come within a certain radius of its home base. This can happen when attacking the western base or pushing south from the starting base. I know that heading south can trigger the MiG’s launch because of a certain experience I had with RA Remastered, leading to my first ever completion of the mission. After effectively locking down my base and building a sizable tank force with a couple MiGs of my own for CAS, I sent them south to find the base down there, thinking that said base was the location of the plane’s airfield. I was wrong, of course, and lost all but a quarter of my tanks to a nuke strike. I had my MiGs hotkeyed, so I sent them after it. They never shot it down (damn AA guns), but that was how I found out there was an island base. Never could capture that blue bugger, though.
As I remember, I've passed this misson (Legacy of Tesla) by destoying the MIG. I've applied classical strategy: captured south enemy's base, built 10-15 rocket-luanchers (3x5), some AA-guns and used a heavy tank like a lure. I determined, which tank is the target for this plane. As soon as the plane drops the bomb, I move the target away from the center of explosion, but the group of rocket-luanchers gives a volley of rockets in the plane, when it turns back. I back a tank on the previous position. Reiterate this action until the plane's destruction.
>first mission >”very difficult because of Tesla Coils” > *kills the free Spies that can down the base’s power so you can slip in and wreak havoc with a Light Tank blob*
Awesomes! Out of interest on the second mission, did you ever get Tanya free successfully and then forgotten about the first dog so she got devoured? That's certainly what would happen to me :)
I was wondering is it still possible to have grenadiers toss grenades across the entire map? When their animation pulls back to throw you used to be able to click on a target across the map and the grenade would be thrown there.
In Counterstrike that was just their appearance. Hand-waved as those tesla-tanks were described as prototypes, whereas the Aftermath dome'd ones are the mass production model. If memory serves, back in the day, Counterstrike was made without creating any new assets, so they just used what was from the base game, whereas Aftermath they actually took the time to do make new sprites for new units.

The 3rd Soviet Mission forced me to apportion my army when I was playing on PS1. How can you do that in the new remastered PC version?
I got a dumb question brother, why do you sell your mcv? Or construction yard, whatever its called lol. I've played this a while back but I've never sold that structure
You killed it Stu, well done! Nice video showing all the counterstrike missions done right.

Never knew Carville was in red alert 1 his cutscenes in RA2 and RA2 YR are goated he’s so funny
also very appredciated how you leave the video squences in the video for your audience :D love it
saved me having to play the game at all thanks so much stu
dunno how others think about it, but i like the classic music sooo much more than the remastered one!
Agreed.
@@Nuuk_Nuke_Nook if not i would have just replaced the music manually xDDD.
Autoplay enabled and all of a sudden: 'SARIN NERVE GAS. THE SOVIETS LOVE IT'
Oh boy, time for some kickass footage!
Always a pleasure to watch you playing, Stu!

He's an unconventional general, but damn it sir he gets the job done. Done fast to boot!
Ever heard of this thing called "WARCRIME"... I think you're nailing it...
The end of Mission 3 was super well timed. GG
That red convoy truck at the beginning was literally just “nope, I’m out”.

Or.... send some engineers in APCs across the river and capture the airfield as the plane lands to have your very own nuclear MiG 🤔
i love ur speedruns, but the most missions i play slowly. i want have more fun :-)

I dont belive spies work like that in red alert 1
Great work!
The music is so good in this game
Kills super soldier in 2 minutes with a harvester....
Game: 36% eFfIcIeNcY
Wilford Brimley's Greek accent was spot on. RIP.
Oh fun. A hour and a half of watching the AI get destroyed by Stu
17:12 "All civilians have been evacuated" Yeah...
It’s like when I mimic the same way you do it, my units are butter to the enemy.
43:50 creepy foreshadowing for current day geopolitics
damn that healing crate on mission 2. Zhuge Liang over here
I remember as a 5 year old playing this on the playstation and some how getting to the ant missions, i think my dad let me stay up late playing it😂
So how many hands do you have?
Stu: Yes.
...Jarvis, is that you? I guess this is what happened before Tony Stark voiced him into an AI!...
Also, 1:03:34 - Somebuddy's REUPLOAD intros
I dont watch this, cause i know it all from ur short videos!?
But u got my like.
Edit: no front :)
Awesomes! Out of interest on the second mission, did you ever get Tanya free successfully and then forgotten about the first dog so she got devoured? That's certainly what would happen to me :)
The breakout part is super hard to do, so I practiced the post-breakout part a lot to make sure this wouldn't happen :)
dog at 33:45 just murders that guy and walks away so full of himself.
are the tanks in mission 5 OP or modified? ridic LT hits

I hope i could see you speedrun both The Aftermath and Retaliation missions
already completed 😎
Weird.. I don't remember the expansion missions having cut scenes back in the day.
Ps1 light tanks didn’t know how to inherently run over troops
During the ant missions are you supposed to be GDI? Hence, grenadiers, mammoth tanks, etc?
So many men fed to the nuclear convoys...
I can't do it this quick, but wouldn't be using an APC with engineers in some missions not be faster ?
In Red Alert you need multiple engineers to capture a building, so most of the time it's not worth it!
@@StuGames ah yeah. A detail I always forget. I downloaded Tiberian Sun last week and played FireStorm and normal again. Was fun
I literally sneezed and missed mission 8 :D
Is there a way to snipe the spy at his first "hideout"?
Hi. Where can i get this counterstrike remastered version of C&C Red alert?
Why do the tesla tanks not have a dome? They look like radar jammers here
In Counterstrike that was just their appearance. Hand-waved as those tesla-tanks were described as prototypes, whereas the Aftermath dome'd ones are the mass production model.

Control groups using Ctrl + number keys!
@@StuGames Thank you very much!
Why sell the MCV? I've seen this a couple of times now.
$$$!
How do you auto select units without hovering the tank shed?/war factory
No wonder all the kids tell me Counterstrike is a fun video game!
For the mission "Fresh Track" I was wondering if the helicopter could handle or not the nuclear payload ?
I don't think it could!
You can sell units with the repair pad? How do you do that?
Just sell them when they're on it. Just make sure not to misclick and sell the repair pad instead.
I got a dumb question brother, why do you sell your mcv? Or construction yard, whatever its called lol. I've played this a while back but I've never sold that structure
extra cash when you don't need to build structures anymore!
I wish I understood geopolitics when I played
i deepply hate fresh trakcs
Dont you mean aftermath ? Counter strike didnt have all these cutscenes...
47:18 Efficiency 36% (!?) Bit harsh
Yeah?
Aftermath when?
i will break this world record
mission5 time nearly 11hours xD
light version
Maaad as hell
