Mission 6: No fricken way. I thought that the mission would have at least been designed in a way where they don’t make rushing your truck a possibility.
Yeah that mission is pretty hard to do fast, because not only can't you see the barrels you need to blow up, but the Yak's easily run out of ammo too quickly.
Bi Pee you only had to destroy that one convoy truck to win mission 9. I would rush that mission by dropping paratroopers in that spot. Never thought one kamikaze pilot would do the job though!
Mission 9: I was soo looking forward to seeing how you would handle this one. It was such a difficult mission for me to pass. I turtled like you wouldn't believe and built loads of tesla coils. I'm still sort of in shock at how you did it! Well played.
Had I played like this back in the day, I would have spared myself many sleepless nights. I would have especially spared my parents the emotional stress of getting angry at for playing this game in the middle of night 😂
There is one thing I didn't miss from old C&C is "affirmative affirmative acknowledged yes sir affirmative acknowledged yes sir acknowledged affirmative" for fuck sake
Agreed, but the remaster has volume sliders for different sound categories. Turning unit speech down a little works nicely for me, don’t even have to mute it.
Mission 5 (Greece) is my favorite of all time. I remember you can destroy enemy MCV before being transport to the island, using yak. It’ll probably take a litle bit longer, compared to your strategy!
@@Pardofelis85 The game has 'factions' for all the countries your see in multiplayer, plus 'Goodguy' and 'Badguy'. Greece and Goodguy have the same color scheme, same as 'USSR' and 'Badguy'
Nice work with that spy in mission 3 :) On the original I swear I could get the dogs to him before he even got through the barbed wire section and complete the mission in about ten seconds, but I can’t recreate it on this - perhaps they fixed it
While not going for speedruns, some of these tricks might prove life-saving, I guess. Like blocking enemy ore refinery placement with paratroopers. That's a nice lifehack.
I remember in mission 9 the convoy was sitting just in front of your base at the beginning of the mission. Was that fixed? An impressive 23 minutes for the first 10 missions, for an average of 2:18 per mission! The remaining missions felt really long in contrast.
That's how I remember it as well, and I totally cheesed this mission on my first playthrough, but I think it was patched away pretty soon because that strat was no longer viable when I re-installed the game from another set of discs a few years later.
Ok so ive tried like 50 times now, and im about to smash my keyboard up lol, how the fk do you intercept that first transport on the last mission. I do exactly what you do here, even in slow mode... and it always slips past. (also that first shipyard always gets rebuilt >.< And loads of stuff happens to me that doesnt to you like cruisers coming from off-map with destroyer escorts and wiping my base. Like wtf
Are you attacking the transport ship coming in? If you don't attack it will soon move around your sub. The easiest way is putting it in Guard mode (look it up in your hotkeys). The shipyard isn't rebuild because I block the location with a sub after destroying it. The cruiser coming from offscreen happens at 45 minutes ingame time (11:15 realtime at fastest speed), so I'm already done with the mission at that point :) Hope that helps
@@StuGames Helped a bit, i dunno man, by the time i get my transport out to get the crates, the 50+ choppers have already wiped out all my surviving tanks from the landing battle.
You need at least 3 mammoth tanks (better 4) to survive the initial fight for them to take on the choppers. Or you can just build rush out some SAM sites :)
In mission 8 you might have been able to plop down your War Factory in the enemy base and start pumping out tanks right there. Could cut off some minutes
Should’ve went to the galley. I loved the coordination in the military. Literally like playing a video game at times. Get you some galley food boi! Nothing better than eating at the galley hahahaha
I don't like to decomission the starting building like you did in mission 2. I like to build up big complex, and "steal" buildings with engineers as much as I can
You used to be able to just force attack anywhere into the shroud, but I believe they removed that in an update (because of multiplayer), unfortunately!
@@StuGames I can only agree with you, I've tried it several times and the planes fly back to base. well there will probably be another possibility to be able to play through it quickly ^^
Mission 5, it is possible to land a few rounds of paratroopers on the island to take out the troops there and then ambush the MCV when it arrives. Takes awhile but it's satisfying. :)
You've deduced the most efficient way of winning. Basic units - as many as possible, as quickly as possible. Go again, with emphasis on using the exotic stuff. Takes longer, but is more satisfying. I'll wait :)
Yeah, the start of that mission was BRUTAL and I had to restart so many times I decided not to restart because of the thief... it wasn't too bad though, only lost a couple of seconds to it :)
On Mission 8, would it not be a viable option to maybe put 5 engineers into the transport so that you capture and heal the construction yard, to then place a war factory (prebuilt in taskbar) to put down and build the army up at the new base rather than leaving the other one near the bottom and driving up to it? I'm sure you've tried this but is it possible and does it speed it up?
@@StuGames Their focus would be on the conyard though, so long as you got down the war factory they'd attack that second, as you already have 1 down at normal base, you might be able to get out a few heavies before it dies and defeat the 3? tanks they'd send to it :P

And, do you always get a paratrooper when a Yak is destroyed? I thought it was random?
It's a 50% chance, but I have a video of an even faster strategy =)
I normally slow that mission down so I can order my vehicles to follow immediately. And snipe the truck with V2 or otherwise.
