BHAKTAPUR 2017 - LAST STOP IN NEPAL | VLOG 49

  • Nepal hasn't been what we expected due to choosing the wrong time the come. That's why we decided to leave earlier to India and make Bhaktapur our last stop. We wanted to check Bhaktapur city to see the Durbar Square, but unfortunately we had to pay another $30 to even enter the city. That's why we decided to head up high to a viewpoint!
    Nepal taught us one important thing which is to only choose to do the things that you absolutely love in a country and that is a valuable lesson, as we wanted to go everywhere to get all the information for our website and promote Nepal the best we could. So a great tip for any other vlogger could be to really vlog about places you really love, so we're going back to finding the most beautiful places in the world. ;)
    Last thing we want to say about Nepal is that although there's a lot of dust pollution and it is very chaotic and time consuming, the people are one of the nicest we've ever met. Traveling to Nepal is a good idea because the country can really use the money to further develop and make sure all kids are able to go to school (this is still not the case). Unfortunately that needs to be done by the government.. From our own experience and from all the stories of the people we spoke, we have sadly realised that the government does very little for their people. If we come back to Nepal, we'll choose the high season and come for some trekking, but for now we're off to the colourful India, namaste!
    Accommodation: we stayed at the great Paradise Hotel. The owner his name is Sri and he organizes great trekkings, so for anyone wanted to trek we highly recommend him. Check out their website at: bhaktapurparadise.com/

      Entrance fee to Colosseum is $15.. an that's Colosseum! So $30 is clearly a rip off.

    $30 goes towards the rebulding of the city after the earth quakes, it is a beautiful city inside and is worth every cent. (Traveling on a budget myself as well)

    Also if you didnt enter you just shouldn't of uploaded a negative video about it, maybe put others off travelling here for $30 ($15 per person) you dont want to discourage people coming to these beautiful places still trying to rebulid

    I understand where you coming from because Bhaktapur is not even city in western point of view.It is small town but it is historical place.Malla kings used to rule this town in ancient times and those were days when Nepal was filthy rich and no distraction of outside influence until the dictator Pritivi Narayan shah and the Gorkhali soldiers came and destroyed all the small towns slaughtering many people around Kathmandu areas.

    Baktapur is stunning but I understand how frustrating it is trying to stick to a low budget. people think that because you managed a flight ticket you somehow have magic money after that. I spent 10 months living in Kathmandu and have a lotta love for that city and the whole valley, but financially it was a battle always paying "foreigner" prices for the duration.

      @@basantadegaardfan2560 actually its not only the city...its the place where there are lots of world heritage sites, a lots of monuments carrying the history of more than 1000 years ago..so atleast some money is required to preserve those sites....isn't it?

    guys we need to appreciate all the complain they had while visiting Nepal..we can't make anyone forcefully talk good things about Nepal..every place have pros or cons ...ya what we can do is to improve the things that we lack behind and we all are doing as much as we can. ya weather did ruined their experience as they would had loved to explore the beautiful scenery in kathmandu,pokhara and historical place around..what we can also do that is we could guide them that what whould be the preferable month to visit Nepal and what else place they can visit apart of kathmandu and pokhara cause there are many places which are as beautiful and historical as them.

    • @hugorijpstra.netherlands
      @hugorijpstra.netherlands  7 лет назад +3

      Hey Ravi! Thanks for that comment. Some people placed some negative comments (for the first time ever on our RUclips channel), but we'll always say what we feel. Better weather would have helped. Also having a lower entry price to get into the city. We could have promoted the beautiful city of Bhaktapur in a really good way if it was just free for people to walk in, just with like any other city in the world. But that's the choice of the Bhaktapur municipality and we respect that. :) Thanks for being so supportive, you are awesome!

    whaatttt???? $20 is expensive for you to visit cultural city of Bhaktapur. You totally wasted your Nepal visit. The blog just potraited nepal as country of dust and pollution instead of travelling to hidden gems and showing them. Totally upset with your blogs about Nepal. I am actually born and raised in Bhaktapur.

      hey are you guys in Nepal? enjoy in there, if you need help let me know. I'm not in there but still i can help you. 30 bucks a day is right choice but still depends up activities. Sometimes 10 bucks a day is even enough, but when you save 20 bucks from it save it for some others activities. your fun and adventure are only limited but if you get some local you will get more and amazing time too. and plz remember be safe don't stay outside longer during night. peace out.

      Hey Rijan, we didn't do that. If you for example watch our Kathmandu vlog, you'll see we loved it and especially the people. However we have our opinion and after having spoken to so many Nepalese people about the government situation, we say the things we feel, such as that all kids should be able to have education. If we come back, we'll be choosing the the high season to be able to create the best videos. :)

      We're not saying your country is bad Rijan, we're just traveling on a budget and had some bad weather during our spontaneous visit, but we've had only good experiences with the Nepalese people (not the government people, but the real locals!) :)
