OnePlus 12r does support always on display
Any phone with a charger is a premium+ phone by today's standards
No its a budget phone or a chinese phone, premium phones dont include chargers lol
@@ronaldmcdonald6067and that's bad
@@ronaldmcdonald6067 then how is it premium lol, without a charger, and even if you buy a charger its slow af
Chinese phones are also considered premium phones.

Hahaha, I freaking spilled my soda
Charging speed still cracks me up sometimes. I put my phone to charge at 6:30am while i poo and get ready for work and by 6:48 its at 100% from 50%
same, I put mine at 11:02pm and it was at 83 from 13 at 11:20
18mins to poo AND get ready for work? You must have speedy poo, high fibre diet 😆
Yeah that is so beast mode that's why I find myself coming back to the current OnePlus devices I just got the 12R a couple of days ago and I keep asking myself do i really need the device but every time I've charged it from zero to 100% in 26 minutes it just blows me away because I don't have any other phone that does this.
Wait, how long does it take for you to get ready for work @@johna527? Poo and all. 😅
I plug mine in at 10pm and its full by 7am on super slow 5Watt charging. slow charging helps maintain battery degradation and helps the phone last over 5 years with a powerful battery still.
8gen2 is still a solid flagship level processor.
Definitely still is. I've tried back to back between the SDg3 and g2...Can't honestly tell the difference in perf. and the efficiency is about the same too.
@J.Wick. I had a S23U and now have a S24U - performance is exactly the same and I found battery life better in the S23U.
i got the 16/256 version they sell that too. if you have some old phones around they give crazy trade in value. they gave me 260 for my old wore out 8t and 220 for a samsung a23. thats way more than you can sell those for. then since i have a edu email i got a 60 student discount, and they had a code for 30 more off. after taxes and everything and with trade ins the 16/256 was 342 and i got an 8/128 for 194. but for those who arent gonna jump through hoops, the 8/128 for effectively 399 (they give you 100 off for "recycling" and you dont even have to trade in) is a good deal. i've been with one plus for a lotta years, just dont wanna be with samsung like everybody else and not an apple fan, but one plus are really on their game at this point. the 12r is big, fast, powerful, inexpensive, from what i read great battery life (just got mine today) charges insanely fast, bright display, great build quality, priced great. the camera even looks great to me even though i'm sure its not the best. i do wish they'd move away from curved screens like samsung did. i figure they'll do that next year. and as far as 8 gen 2, shit my 8t with a sd865 and 12gb ram showed no signs of slowing down. 8 gen 2 is more than plenty for years to come. tbh these processors are way more power than an average user needs. so yeah, I feel like OP is mostly firing on all cylinders these days.
@@v1ktos OnePlus 12 and a ZFlip5 for me. Obviousl software difference. OnePlus has the smoothness unlike any other. But there's no beating OneUI for overall utility. I found battery life to be different (diff sizes) but the 8g2 in the flip 5 was way better than I thought it'd be, both power wise and efficiency.
in gpu it's the difference @@J.Wick.
The 12r is where it's at. I was stuck between the 12 and 12r. The experience is identical. Day time photos and video look the same coming from the primary 50mp lense. The 12r reminds me of the 7t/7pro . I highly recommend this phone for anyone
It's exactly like OnePlus 7t just the telephoto lens missing 🥲
I already ordered it yesterday the larger size. It was on sale for $529 plus trade in and bonus $30 off. So, I paid $400 plus taxes. Better deal than the 128gb and 8gb ram. Doubled storage and ram. Coming from Samsung Galaxy A54 for trade in. Using my Galaxy A34 until I get the 12R.
Reviewers who complain about curved screen edges - do you actually use the phone in a case, like everyone else in the world? All the problems of the curved edge (e.g. phantom touch) completely go away when you put the phone in a case, especially with OnePlus first party cases.
Very fair. I have a 12, not an R, and I dislike the curved screen. In a case you don't tend to hit the edge accidentally but it can still happen. Thankfully it is my ONLY gripe about my 12!
Put a screen protector a little to far on one side, and most cases lift it up. Biggest gripe when I used my Samsung Note 20 Ultra, which had a curved screen.
@@brent3522 Ah I see. I've never used a screen protector and I've never scratched nor cracked any screen (I don't know anyone who uses one)
Curved edge makes it so that even more dust gets accumulated on the sides of the screen as they literally curve inside... also applying a screen protector is difficult and expensive + the display itself is much more fragile due to it being curved
I have been dailying the 12 and 12R since release and I have had so many phantom touches. It's not as bad on other phones.
OnePlus guy from day one here. OnePlus One, 3T, 5T, 12. 5T was my favorite of all I had until the 12. They got away from what made them great for a few years there. But they're on a hell of an upswing currently IMO. Glad they're back.
The last innovative OnePlus was the 7 Pro, everything went downhill starting the 8 series
@@ronaldmcdonald6067 8 pro was also good, but 9,10 and 11 were sooo bad, my mom had a 6, it still works like new
Ok
@@ronaldmcdonald6067 but oneplus 12 is the best oneplus till now no doubt
I really liked the Oneplus 8 (base model), everything about it was damn near perfect for the price at least. A relative had it and I tried it a little and was blown away by the smoothness and the best thing was the design and the build. It was perfect for me and was actually comfortable to hold. Unlike Apple's phones or Samsung's new Ultra models. The S21 Ultra was great and the S22 Ultra was okay but S23 Ultra onwards they're grippier but not comfy to hold and so I believe Oneplus was good till 8 but most people think they were good till like 6 or something.
BTW how many battery swaps did you do on your 5T? The time gap from 5T to 12 is insane, did you use the same phone for THAT long?
Wait I'd actually love the color and design if I could get it without the accessories. That's honestly so pretty
I'm very tempted to get the 12R 16gb ram 256gb storage all I need and not stupid expensive in the UK at £623.71 over 12 months interest free.
Comes with a charger so saving me a bit more.
Actually prefer the Snapdragon Gen 2 over gen 3 because runs cooler, never use cameras on mobiles.
Where are you getting interest free in the UK ?
12r is the best priced phone, still a great Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, amazing display, battery life, fast charging and most importantly, ! Premium build quality - complete phone.
Additionally, the main camera competes very well with the Nothing Phone 2 and is often superior.
3T 64gb and current 8T 5g 256gb user. Both are speed beasts. 8T has security update till end of this year, pretty satisfied still. Maybe next year will look for upgrade.
THe 8T5G is a beast....people who don't know don't believe me when I say it is still better than 70% of the market of mid level phones and compares to the GP7a even years later.
That said I picked up a 12R top spec and am blown away by the performance and rich feature set.
i still remember when the oneplus one came out and i went to the mall and asked the woman selling phones if she had a oneplus one for sale she said "What is that"
my favorite is the oneplus 7 pro. for it's time, it was a nuclear phone destroying everything in its way by far.
I still using the OnePlus 7 Pro, but unfortunately the battery is draining too fast cuz it been almost 5 years without upgrading to a new one. Fortunately I am upgrading to OnePlus 12R tomorrow!😎
still running the oneplus 7 pro. was the last truly amazing oneplus phone. maybe the 12 is worth a shot. i still dream of gettign the original oneplus one design though. i miss it

I think engineers are really stupid these day. They need help. The new cars are gimmicky and stupid. I drove a 2024 VW golf and it's terrible. So are many new phones and software features. I think many companies have lost their compass. Especially tesla. Wtf are they doing with the cybertruck.
I wish they make a one plus 7 pro comeback edition. Just the same phone with refreshed specs and maybe a decent software just like the one on the OP7
Just ordered a 12R to finally replace my OnePlus 6. (£50 off and free headphones offer from OnePlus in the UK at the moment.)
That's been an awesome phone.
The One Plus 12R is really only $400 in the US.
Does it have edge features like galaxy edge phones had. Like lighting for notifications or calls? Edge panels? I ordered mine the 256gb and 16gb ram yesterday and getting it next week and hoping might get it early. Crossing fingers. 🤞
I still remember buying my first phone ever the oneplus 3T from ebay because it wasn't avaliable in stores
Nice job on the video and I would say in the States this is a great deal you can get it for $399... Last year's top processor just a couple months ago and a good main camera no not great but good enough. I have to say I don't really like curved screens but once you put a case on this and who doesn't use a case with their phone the phantom touch thing will won't be an issue.
If you "trade" in a old phone you get $100 off. They send you a package label but they dont check if you did send it. Also applied a 10% off student discount from my old school account. Got it all in for $350. Not bad for that price.
Nobody speaks about the exceptional, no lag GPS tracking, very fast hotspot (much faster than Iphone, Pixel and any Exynos based phone), and amazing GSM reception. The phone stays cool even when driven hard: satnav, spotify via bluetooth, hotspot on for everyone in the car while charging.
Thats some grat feedback thank you!
To me, they won't REALLY be back until they go back to Oxygen OS pre Color OS. Heck, I and many others didn't like Oxygen OS 11, but 12 and later is bascially just Color OS, and not very good at all. Heck, I'd take One UI over Color OS, and also benefit from the high amount of updates I'd get, even at the lower-end.
I beg to differ. Oxygen OS was extremely bland and boring. Colors os is so much better.
@travisbloomfield303 Sometimes boring is better. Sometimes simple beats complex.
Old oxygenOs is dead forever. Oneplus ceo already confirmed it months ago
New oxygen OS is good. OneUI is literal trash with all the bloatware and useless features that slow the phone down.
@@joeeemama1906 yes, and its also about to get AI features for global
8gen2 is a great processor and actually it is more efficient than 8gen3
Does it come with a pre-installed screen protector?
Yes
@@lalnuntluangihnamte3684 thanks!
I'm still using a OnePlus 8! The battery's not what it used to be and OLED screen is starting to show some burn in but the phone still rocks. The 12R maybe my next phone when it drops below $400 on sale.
In fact, Color OS is the best skin on android
Its ass, oxygen os is so much better
yessir
Bro, when you change channels on me, I get confused 😂
My 12r is coming tomorrow. Can't wait .the last oneplus i had i bealive was the 7 whichu i broke like evey other phone I've had lol
I don't really feel that they were ever gone. People just didn't want to pay the higher price for the 9 and 10 series devices. The so-called resurgence of the brand really happened last year with the 11, Pad and the Open. All three devices were well received and came in at a price that people were willing to pay.
As far as the 12 is concerned, the pre-order price is already over. It is now selling for around $900 here in the United states. Of course, that's for the highest model.
I have broken two screens in my entire life. Both were curved. I'm interested in one plus when they have flat screens.
It seems like a you problem
I already ordered it yesterday the larger size. It was on sale for $529 plus trade in and bonus $30 off. So, I paid $400 plus taxes. Better deal than the 128gb and 8gb ram. Doubled storage and ram. Coming from Samsung Galaxy A54 for trade in. Using my Galaxy A34 until I get the 12R. So, DARN excited, and never had that much ram on a phone yet.
Wanted the bigger battery for my Spotify streaming on data for longer listening. Some gaming too.
No always on option? Why??
There is, watch Flossy Carter's review. His review unit has AOD.
Fav Oneplus must be the 6T, despite lack of headphone jack.
Rocking my Oneplus 8pro for 3 years already. The beast

anyone faced software or multitasking issues ? I heard oneplus famous for their software issues ?
This is my dream phone I want ...!!!! 🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺
Ordered one today.
Got my genshin impact..beautiful design in a premium specs phone..what more could I ask for❤
Huge OnePlus user myself and I've loved the Open! My absolute favorite, hands down and everything I could want in a phone.
If only it was available for everyone! We’re still waiting for availability in my country (PH) 😅 we don’t have the 12 either 😂
This is the BEST phone 1+ has ever made when looking at specs versus money paid at 650 bucks wow super wow for the regular 12R at 400 dollars 1+ is freaking KILLING the game.
is this a good replacement for my potato pc or should i get a pc worth $600?
This doesn't have video output so it's not a very good PC replacement. You can replace PC functionality with an Android phone or tablet if you're not going to require desktop software. But you probably want something with video output. OnePlus 12 has it but the 12R does not because it uses USB 2.0.
So you can't use it with an external monitor.
If you need desktop versions of Microsoft office or something then you probably want to keep the windows machine. Or if you use get steam for gaming.
Used the 3, 7t pro and now ordered mine 12r.
Too many flagships. Too many 'Ultra's. If a phone isn't under $500 I don't even see it.
Flat panel it should be. The accidental touches with the curved edges, bruh.
as webcam , resulation, lag , heating ?
thats an amazing looking phone 😍
Yeah, why no Always On Display? That's not a "flagship" feature, there are no hardware limitations. That's a OnePlus decision for some reason
It does have always on display, watch Flossy Carter's review. Not sure why Ryan is saying it's not there.
@@matthewharper7941 Ahh, I just watched that. Thank God lol, I have to have AOD Thanks!
It is there...using it right now also
I love onplus 6
I love my 8T 256 but time to upgrade
I hate this new "oxygen os" it's so annoying to use on my OnePlus 10T. I should've stayed on oxygen os 11 lol
Hot take: stock ASOP is an absolute snore-fest skin with missing QoL features and I'm glad OnePlus chose to refine OxygenOS and ColorOS together, doesn't matter if it slightly ever look so similar to iOS (or the better design element of it)
Yes, I had OnePlus 3T too
try the IQOO NEO 9 PRO
Just dont see the point of this model when OnePlus 11 has the sam chip and everything else better, and the price now is pretty similar.
I had to return the OnePlus 12 because the PWM killed my eyes even with the anti flicker settings. Great phone though.
Wdym? What's the issue?
@@tomcrate5625 ikr, pwm dimming is better on oneplus 2160Hz in comparison to apple's 240Hz or samsung's 480Hz
@@4fgaming925 That’s actually the reason why I bought it. Sadly, even with that high of PWM frequency it made no difference I couldn’t use it for more than 5 mins before my eyes hurt and I felt nauseous.

I'll wait for a few more months, if the green line issue isn't there then it's a green flag for me to go buy one. 🤞🏻
no green line issue now
From European point of view the OnePlus 12 is great while 12R is totally pointless model. It is specs wise very similar to OnePlus Nord 3, which costs almost half as much. And price of the 12R is quite close to OnePlus 11 which is still much better phone.
Yeah I recently got everyone in my house Oneplus 11s for nearly half the price of the 12R
yeah
If the OnePlus 13 comes with a flat screen next year, I'll be trading in my S23U on it.
: Watching this vedio from OP 3T. 🔥
Wanna upgrade but,
Still in confusion bw OP12 and 24U 😐
I used OnePlus 3 and 7. Ever since oppo merger I shifted to iOS but now I think it's time to go back to OnePlus with this 12r.
My only Oneplus was 8 pro and it was the biggest piece of shit I ever had. Had green ti ted screen, cameras was pathetic and battery life was crap. Totally lost the confidence in brand and there is no way I’ll ever give my money to them again.
oneplus 3-7 were great, 8-11 were bad and 12 is good. I had a 10r and it was dogshit, just like other chinese phones, I risked my money once again, and I am not at all dissapointed with the 12, its the best for the price
I would not call this a flagship killer at all lol
My favourite OnePlus phone was the OnePlus 7, it was a barebones no bullshit phone for cheap. But I'm just absolutely blown away for the value for money OnePlus 11 provides
I can honestly say the 12R is in my top 3 OnePlus devices of all time. 1. 3T 2. 7 Pro 3. 12R
They really went back to those good old days with the 12R. I used a pixel 7 pro before going to the 12R and I'm so happy I did the switch.
How is a £650 phone classed as midrange, it's beyond me
Perhaps because the "top" range phones cost twice as much. Cut that in half and you have the "mid." Get it?
I dont think they are back cause oneplus team is in nothing with carl pei. And it has coloros which is cheap looking ui
Uhh the OnePlus 11, Nord 3, Open and OnePlus 12 begs to differ. And new oxygen OS is amazing. Much better than oneUI trash. Closest to stock OS and even beats the pixelOS
@@joeeemama1906 Ikr, it looks the coolest

One plus 12 is a fantastic phone but we are getting ripped off by oneplus in the uk so I wouldnt buy one.

Base version with 128gb in 2024 ?? Really sucks !! And the camera is very far from good. It overexposes everything and night shots are awful . I perfer iqoo neo 9 pro and its the best midrange phone not the oneplus
Shitty software support, so i'll pass
All eligible phones are on Android 14 already. Idk who gave you that info
no he is talking about the duration of support, he passed because he's probably a poor guy who buys phones 2-3 years later after their launch so he needs more years of OS support. 4-5 years is already enough. 7 years by samsung and pixel are overkill.
Complaining about curved displays in 2024 is so meh
you can get the a25 at Samsung for $300 out the door
...unless you prefer a Oneplus.
OnePlus is not the same after the launch of OP 7 pro
Yall better quit living in the past. Things progress that's why you here watching
can you at least tell why?
I loved my 7pro and didn't want to give it up, the full screen and pop up camera was awesome. The battery started to fail and I went to the 9pro and it was a solid upgrade over the 7 and was totally content. I just traded it in for a 12 due to great trade in and I'm pretty happy with it. The 9 was a great phone and if it wasn't for the trade in deal I'd still have it!
@@simbarashechipara5203 IKR, so many people are still stuck in the 8,9 and 10 series, 12 series is sooooo much better, everyday I see these same type of comments idk why
A mid priced flagship
There can only be one flagship in a fleet. The Oneplus 12 holds the flag for the6 Oneplus fleet. 12R couldn't be a flagship anyway. It has last year's processor.

The 1+ Open is the flagship
I had a iPhone for years got bored wanted to try android got a pixel 7 it was alright traded in and got the 12r 128 gig out the door for 280 u.s and WOW I feel like I stole d this phone great display long battery life super fast charging no looking back OnePlus has got a new Fanboy for sure
Worse camera vs pixel 7 though. If you need a great camera, then it might be a downgrade
Unless you want your parcel lost with them telling you it was delivered so then you have to talk to Indian customer service with strong accents to investigate back and forth also sending emails to OP support team that they don't get back to you after 2 days for each email just to tell you they did lose it because you proved it and they ask if you want a refund or send you another phone with nothing fancy attached like fast shipping at least for your inconvenience, then sure, buy from OnePlus. FIRST time really wanting OP and buying it but they lose it. So they lost any other future business with me. Great job support team!
