Y'all are not that "great" at MATH.....
2002 MSRP started at 68k, so a 65k for a clean near New model would have been legit, at that time
      2) 65k @60/mo loan @5% + sales tax, no down payment ( to offset whatever extras were added/included) = financing about 75k
      Again that's 75k with Tax/Title/Tags....
That WOULD be about 85k with payments and that's assuming a 5yr loan @ $1409/mo....where more ppl do 6-7yr loans with expensive vehicles meaning to total loan % would have added up even MORE.....
Again, this is assuming she only paid around 65k, which is a slight discount off the BASE model, she could have easily paid into the 70's for a higher trim.....which even moreso supports her numbers.
Y'all make it seem like vehicles JUST started costing 💰 3 years ago
Again 73k + simple 10 % sales tax is already over 80k add in ANYTHING title work, prep work, upgraded tires, extended warranty, security features etc etc
Where have Y'all been....nobody does MATH anymore

    • @ericstewart517

      @danielacosta2856
Did Dad pay TAX on that 67k....
What about Tag/Title. Upgraded tires, leather etc etc
The 2002 MSRP was 68k add in features and she absolutely could have paid in the 70's ( also we all know cars "can" sell for over MSRP if "hot" at the time) anyway even using 67k + 10% tax only = near 74k
Add in what she paid in % payments on a car loan and YES, a consumer could say ...I spent 85k ON that vehicle
      How is that "robbed"?
Again even if your Pop paid CASH he had to come off near 75k WITH Tax/Tag/Title so WHERE is the "big" difference?😮

I would imagine the reason why RRs (and other foreign cars) got a rap for being unreliable is due to multiple factors.
      1) superior European engineering dictates that they should place critical, wear and tear components in such a location that effectively requires a total disassembly. If not that, then they have the brilliant idea to have their replacement procedures inconsistent with other vehicles that exist (such was removing a drive axle to be able to replace brake rotors and disassembling a brake caliper to change the pads).
      2) many men these days aren't even capable of changing engine oil, let alone do any intensive maintenance work
      3) automotive repair shops getting away with exorbitant costs because they effectively monopolized the longevity of your vehicle
Therefore, many people would rather just deal with the problems until it becomes a real problem, instead of paying hundreds for a simple brake job. This woman owned a business, and very likely was able to cover the costs to upkeep the vehicle, hence why it lasted so long.

I am the owner of a 1999 Range Rover 4.6 HSE. As someone who does my own mechanic work on it and maintenance I will admit it is fairly unreliable for the everyday toyota driver. Some people want a car with the reliability of it working on them everyday with the exception of paying for an oil change, others like me, study mechanics and dont mind working on these 20 year old vehicles since it’s a beginner friendly mechanics car. Im 21 and I started driving my Rover when I replaced the engine block out myself at 19. The car has given me minimal issues since then and I’ve probably spent over 4 grand in parts and upgrades but damn do I love this SUV. Definitely taught me a lot and I don’t mind it at all. Its not an everyday traffic car. Real rare to see one well kept, beautiful, and running.

There are even statute of limitations for 5 to 20 years for federal crimes and this certainly falls under it. The insurance company probably wouldn't even waste the energy to claim it. I ran the 17 characters at home & informed him the mileage had been altered by 100K & the vehicle had been in 3 serious accidents. She’s got the off road package which included brush guards front and rear, and late models got wood grain packages AND navigation. Dealers spec’d them with minimum $10k in options. Finding a bare bones SE or HSE is hard unless you’re looking at the launch edition 90s models. $80k is light work on a P38a. They easily costed $100k once you got into options and considering the edition you purchased. Vogue and Autobiography Rovers were WELL over $100k.
