- Police made a quick arrest after five people and a security guard were wounded in a shooting outside the Decades nightclub in Dupont Circle. Along with that incident, police are also investigating a deadly shooting in the U Street corridor. News4's Derrick Ward reports.

Here are some of the reasons why crimes like this continue to happen……..
1. Communities with unstable home lives
2.. No fathers in the home or lack of a strong male role model
3. No respect for authority (teachers, police, etc) or rule of law
4. A generation that feels entitled and clearly has no respect for life (including their own)
5. Very young mothers and fathers who do not fully understand the responsibility and gravity of raising a child.
6. Generations of dependency on government
7. Local governmental policies that encourages recidivism
8. Communities not stepping up to take an aggressive approach to crime ( Ex. No snitching codes)
9. Activist and activist groups who only blame the problem on external factors, while ignoring the internal factors that may have caused it.
10. Believing religious leaders, political leaders, police/ police chiefs, and other government agencies can solve crime problems without acknowledging the root cause of these problems exist because of poor parenting or lack thereof.
...and how did "they" get that way? LBJ started the ball rolling.

Because those nightclub bouncers don't carry a firearm ? If the patrons who visited knew guns were able to be fired at them, they would hestitate causing a scene in that establishment.. also there's guns all over US in legal states... its not hard to obtain one...?

I used barhop Connecticut, M Street, K Street, Dupon Circle, Chinatown, even New York Avenue, up and down, in and out every weekend in the Eighties. It was beautiful. Girls everywhere, bars everywhere, good music, great atmosphere outside, you could feel the vibes. You finished party, you went home and talked about the next day. Back when there were more civilized people than, obviously, nowadays...
