- The man accused in the brutal beating death of a transgender woman in Miami Beach made his first appearance before a judge on Thursday as family members are seeking answers in her killing.
Gregory Fitzgerald Gibert, 53, is facing a second-degree murder charge in the killing of 37-year-old Andrea Dorias Dos Passos, whose body was found Tuesday near the Miami City Ballet.

I think it shows more what state you want this country to be in. Sure it is terrible but it is one case and there are hundreds of millions of people in this country so in what way does it represent the "state the country is in". There are atrocities and injustices happening that don't represent the majority of citizens in this nation. We can go into many things that happen on a daily basis that you wouldn't be so quick to paint as the state of the nation I would wager.

These atrocities and injustices like the example of this incident seam to be happening at a much higher rate, and not just in isolated places. It isn't just a major city problem anymore, and not just crime, but heinous crime, beating with a pote and stabbing sticks through their face. In another state, beating and robbing the elderly, when the same age use to help them cross the street. 🤷♂️

There is nothing so far to say that that was the reason he was beaten. So far we have a man attacking another man while he slept. We don't know if it's random or if they even knew each other. They reported it in a way to lead to the conclusion that he killed him out of hate. But there is nothing in the evidence they gave to make that conclusion. And since it was not labeled a hate crime as of, yet it is irresponsible to think it was.

The perpetrator should be in jail for this violent crime. But you have to wonder…was this one of those cases where the trans person had intimate relations with the perpetrator but didn’t tell the perpetrator that they were trans and instead led him to believe she was a natural born woman? That is usually the reason these killings of trans women happen. Still…the perpetrator is extremely violent and should be in prison for the rest of his life…he is a danger to society.
