Nobody ever found the solution to their problems at the bottom of a bottle of booze, or in narcotics, and people turning to these substances as the answer to their problems is what has led to the substance abuse epidemic today. There was a time long ago when I thought I could find relief and resolution to my problems in booze, and it led me down a dark road that ended my silly notion that I could fix the mess MY POOR CHOICES IN LIFE had caused. But the first step was personal accountability for my sìns, and not blaming others who hadn’t given me the “right behavior therapy” to change. Then I acknowledged that I needed Jesus as the Master of my life, because only God could fix my broken condition, and when I received Christ as my LORD and Savior, and I submitted my free will to Him, for Him to guide me and change me, my whole world was turned around. It never would have happened without me giving up my prideful notion that I could save and change myself, however, and it wouldn’t have happened without me accepting my own responsibility for the mess I had made, and acknowledging that I need Jesus as my God and Savior. Jesus just literally took away my desire for booze, and He will do the same thing for others who submit themselves to Him as their LORD and Savior.

It's hard to believe America has come to this having people living outdoors like animals, we really think we as a society are punishing them for their bad decisions, but in reality, this is becoming American culture. If we make the grave mistake of letting this become generational or traditional, it will mark the beginning of a slow and total collapse of society if it has not already started.

You bf becomes abusive not paying bills, you rent has gone up, your water drips a glass full an hour and your slumlord only comes to take your sand bags you got during the flood for his own place. Sure did everything you suppose to do. Move quickly thought you were safe . Rental bust the spikes in rent then COVID losing people and senior pets. The along come inflation no affordable. So you are on 40 wait list /housing. You become homeless and to top that off your income is limited and no one wants to rent to a senior.
It's meth smokers. The ones who use meth by injection typically don't have the "meth mouth" teeth. I'd advise against either though. A drink or two a few times a year when out with friends, or at holiday events is about all I'd recommend if you're looking for a buzz.

People need to realize that it’s not just housing - it’s addiction recovery. That has to be paramount to fix this issue with our growing homeless populations across the country. It’s not a war on drugs, it’s a war on addiction itself. If people don’t want the drugs, the supplies will dry up because nobody buys them. It’s basic supply and demand - and no one has enough impetus to face the real issue.

This is supposed to be a “safe” sleeping area and there’s no one monitoring the people there to make sure everyone is okay? Don’t they know who’s living in these tents? And if someone goes inside and is not seen again wouldn’t that raise your suspicion that maybe that person needs help? Especially with the fentanyl epidemic. That’s crazy.
Tents seem like they are too close together to do adequate safety checks. You will also need more staff in order to tell when someone is in distress. Four days to discover a dead body is unacceptable.
Why is it unacceptable? The only thing unacceptable is that people are not allowed to have their civil liberties in these camps and a lot allowed to do as they please and do drugs and alcohol if they wish. Many people who die in their homes takes much much longer for them to be found.

I was given the same free will as everyone else, to choose to do what is right in God’s eyes, or to choose to do what is right in my own eyes, and if I choose the latter, it ALWAYS turns out bad. After 20 years of walking with Christ, and 33 years of walking according to my own will prior to being born again through faith in Christ, I can say without hesitation that living God’s way leads to peace in my sòuI, and healing for my spirit, and I never want to return to my old life without Christ. Jesus just literally took away my desire for booze, and He will do the same thing for others who submit themselves to Him as their LORD and Savior.
I've been following the homeless situation because it's usually disgusting with the amount of trash, filth and unsanitary human conditions that are a health hazard as well as an eyesore for others. If the photos of this "safe sleeping" site are accurate, it's for the most part clean, picked up with no trash. They can sleep in relative comfort which more than they get on the street. If it's as it appears, it's a worthwhile endeavor. The "rules" are simple and common. If there were "NO rules", this site would NOT be "safe sleeping". Guaranteed. There are "rules" to life.
Sounds about as safe as a gun free zone. 😒

People who live in houses die too and aren't found for days...
Same with truckdrivers.. They are invisible in this world. I know, I just retired from it..
Got money for drugs but not rent
that could be your daughters.
Drugs are significantly cheaper than rent
It wasn't accidental, it was a drug OD.
That still classifies as an accidental death
Accident. He accidentally took drugs and Darwined himself. At least it taught the staff a lesson on just checking on people. "Hey, how's it going? You good?" once a day is not an invasion of privacy. And yeah, a majority of the street homeless are 'lost cause' drug addicts, that's a simple, undeniable fact, my dear bleeding hearts. Toothy there could easily get help for that mouth, but it would involve signing papers, showing up for appointments, and not doing drugs that would clash with treatment.
🤣
Unfortunately,ur correct.
Be careful of being condescending. Speak truth in love. You don’t know their story and what led to their addiction.
People who would rather do drugs than contribute to your society are the result of a failing society
@@Beencouraged777 I get what you’re saying but some people are a lost cause. Is it sad ? Yes, absolutely and no we don’t know everybody’s stories which, again, are often heartbreaking but life isn’t fair. It’s actually cruel to some, just like nature, because it is survival of the fittest.

"Normal people"??? 😒

how do you explain someone dying of hernia? i'm sure she was in pain and people heard and someone dying and has been dead for days? how often do you do wellness checks? isn't someone medically trained checking on them if so I bet they needed medical care and medicine. Come on if we can donate billions to other country why can't we do more here in our own soil?
Maybe she ment appendix. But I read, hernia's are usually not life threatening but sometimes can become life threatening.
It's all a lie. That lady died of an overdose. Plain and simple.....
hernia happens intestines push through blood supply to intestine gets cut off intestine dies then you die of sepsis this isn't something that happens overnight the person likely ignored the symptoms for quite some time not knowing what was wrong
@@TWEAKLET There was no hernia problem. That was a completely false story to cover up another drug overdose.
One can.
Falsely accused of selling drugs. Right.
Well… having individual baggies for personal use will get you a distribution charge just because it looks like you’re dealing, not just using. Many dealers package them individually based on, say, 0.1 gram amounts so it’s easier for them to deal.

The woman complaining about how unsafe she felt there, is just mad she was kicked out for drugs. That's low to try to shut down a safe place for the homeless just because they kicked her out.
The city and government isn't responsible for peoples bad choices such as overdosing on drugs. Also I think homelessness is a forever thing we kinda of encourge it and we have no system for these people to improve. We can only house them and ask them nicely if they want help with the issue that keeps them homeless.
Only you who can help yourself to get a better life if you can stay away from drugs.
I joined the military on 9/11, was raped and covered up with a bad paper discharge, left without the veterans benefits I earned like VA psychiatric care for the resulting PTSD. My family victim-blamed me and left me homeless with a traumatic brain injury after I attempted suicide.

Its just a "feel good" measure to keep the money coming in to line their pockets. Everyone in the tents is a drug addict or alcoholic or both.

When people have been broken by society the last place they want to be is in a shelter with cots and a bunch of other people.
The victim card has been overplayed. Asians were treated worst and are considered among the wealthiest now days. Do you see them protesting about reparations ?
If you haven't been broken by society, then you're part of the problem! There are a lot worse places to be...... believe me, Ive been to em!
imagine being filled with people who are prolly good people but have all kinds of sickness and bad hygiene. it's not right .I'd rather live In a tent by myself.
People die everywhere. This is only newsworthy if theres some agenda to close down help for homeless. Thanks 10News.
As a woman, Id take that over the confines of a shelter. People check out in their houses, too. They expire in semi truck parking lots. I dont know if you know this, but we really do all have to go sometime. It is inevitable and doesn't mean that the tent is somehow bad. It's better than just a garbage bag on a park bench or being trapped behind closed doors with strange men.
He's just another person, like anyone else. Lots of wealthy people die from drugs every day. Lots of unhoused people die every day from drugs and sometimes from natural causes, like old age and illnesses. Who is anyone? We're all just struggling to have some nice times in nice surroundings. We're all born with a death sentence.
Thank YOUUUUU for putting some Perspective on the issue of **Drug Abuse**. It IS NOT solely the problem of people living in Poverty!!!! 💜
After going many days in pain cause no dentist in town can pull a tooth. I can see how folks die or end up killing themselves. The pain is unbearable at times. I pass out from pain. My family said it would be fun to move to Florida
So true, tooth pain is no joke and can be agonizing. I would say though you don't always have to get it removed. I had one pulled and then when I changed my diet the other two there were eroding just broke off with no pain and then sealed themselves. Turns out I had issues with rice and some other basic foods. My exposed broken teeth would create bad breathe if I ate certain foods. That's how I learned what I can't actually eat and all my teeth problems stopped happening. Just food for thought if you're still having issues..
wellness checks should be at least once a day at noon if you plan on feeding them.
key word "reality".
San Francisco has proven that this is the only thing that works to help solve the homelessness issue. This site should definitely be defended. However, law enforcement is still not present and there is no enforcement of the law and public safety so these are safe sleeping sites In Name Only. God bless this poor woman fighting for her life. God knows the abuse she's taken for a situation that's not her fault 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
4 people out of 500 is probably a lower number than would die on the streets. Your reporters getting hold of the other autopsies would probably be very helpful to decrease fears.
Slow?
Well said.....if you really think 🤔 about it.... we resorted to parking lots with tents ⛺️......at the same time we have Electric Vehicles.....soon the streets will be so bad they will be dirt....slowly becoming a Sifi western....like Star Wars.....
Society isn't punishing them! Have you ever actually dealt with an addict? Doesn't sound like it.
Not all homeless is from bad decisions. Take you move into a place thinking it looks good. Just to discover you are living by a well established drug lab and crew. You don't say anything till you get rob, you and animals get shot at, nothing but chemical fall out from hell, mail stolen.
There should be a place for women to be safe because they’re the most vulnerable.
In San Diego, its called "Drug Paraphernalia"
In San Francisco it called "Equitable Consumption Equipment."
Rip heaven😂😂❤❤

which drug makes them loose their teeth?
😳
Meth
High fructose corn syrup and carbonic acid dissolved in water
Diabetes
It's meth smokers. The ones who use meth by injection typically don't have the "meth mouth" teeth. I'd advise against either though. A drink or two a few times a year when out with friends, or at holiday events is about all I'd recommend if you're looking for a buzz.
This is a great way to help these homeless people.
There ya go, there ya go kids
The fact that the state will provide tents but not just build housing is insane. They're probably spending millions on it too, probably spent enough to just build an actual building
We owe them nothing. This is the problem with giving them free stuff they end up taking advantage of it and now they blame the people who are giving them free stuff. They would have died on the street..
Harsh but very true.
You actually owe them a lot, that how society works.
Only the woman that was kicked out for drugs is complaining.
Alcohol, drugs and feeding strays leads to great things for society.
Your society is what pushes alcohol and drugs, it’s not their fault your society isn’t worth contributing to
Throwing people away in a parking lot is the Antithesis is saftey. Call it whatever tf you want, it is a death sentence.
I wish I could help! ❤
Will having a safe sleeping site okay cool or like a mini house thing that I've seen a lot. What is normally considered a low emittance of what you can actually do there like their roles requirements locking time Etc no drugs alcohol fighting Etc but do they have people walking around food bathing laundry.
Imagine someone giving you a safe, not perfect, but safe place to sleep and you complain bout it. The entitlement is out of this world!
Thank you for providing a place for people to sleep.
Who would have thought that a homeless person might be taking drugs. Shocking!
I hope they will be ok. That's a tough life too live right there
This help is crucial .. please don't stop it but involve those who are trained to know what to do .
Well how safe are those sites if people are dying there??
Thanks Roosevelt for your legazionism
Was that Bono of U2?
These people know damn well it's not the homelessness, it's the drug addiction everyone is concerned with. Honesty would go a long way to fixing this problem.
Drug over dose?
Another great BIG THANKS TO THE LANDLORDS who SOLD properties to AIRBNB and CORPORATIONS and threw these people out on the streets.
Another excuse?🙄
Dude said fentanyl and “math” 😂 WTF!?
No one wants to admit this looks like the Great Depression's Hooverville. The country's economy is in terrible shape but if you say anything, you'll be censored. Isn't a President supposed to make like better for the citizens of the country?
There should be a check out check in scenario set up so daily it knows if someone is still in his bed...

They dont appreciate a free safe sleeping site...SHUT IT DOWN NOW!!Ungrateful

Drugs dont kill people. A drug cannot go to trial, a drug cannot go to jail....its people who use it outside of its intended use and dosage that are to blame
Imagine how unsafe the regular sleeping sites are!
I'm glad that they have a safe sleep spot❤
Tent in a parking lot??
Why?
Do people have to do drug testing? Is there mental health checks? People need more than a tent. What other services do you offer for them to get back on their feet?
It’s took that long to smell this ?? Smh.
"Fentanyl and math" yeah that math will take you out if you aren't careful enough 😂
One of the ladies interviewed said they don't do background checks ... I am sure if they did a good majority of these folks would be kicked out.
Lack of access to Health Care services lead to their demise and not the site itself. House isn't the main cause of homelessness.
These tents need larger tents over them to provide shade .it sux they cant camp under trees to provide shade in the heat .
Dude they’re living the life!
Free place to stay including a bed with sheets and everything!
Free needles! It’s nice!
😔 💔 🙏 🕊
Tents seem like they are too close together to do adequate safety checks. You will also need more staff in order to tell when someone is in distress. Four days to discover a dead body is unacceptable.
Why is it unacceptable? The only thing unacceptable is that people are not allowed to have their civil liberties in these camps and a lot allowed to do as they please and do drugs and alcohol if they wish.
Many people who die in their homes takes much much longer for them to be found.
@@keltic341thoughtyouknuskii34 security checks at these sites need to be robust enough to find somebody in distress. Otherwise they're not safe for anyone.
This is a simple request. The tents need to be spread out enough for that to be possible. Staffing needs to be high enough where this is possible.
So they kicked that woman out for using or selling, but she claims she wasn't using or selling anything. I guess they just kicked her out for no reason huh?. These people never take any responsibility. That's why they remain in this type situation
What are we doing about this
May they rest in peace
people who lack health care, healthy food, adequate shelter die younger than people who have all those things. over dosing is a personal attack on one’s self. please don’t blame a good place for unavoidable deaths. thank God for these living situations that take people off the streets.
Wow! No good deed goes unpunished. Imagine getting free lodging and still complaining. Deaths happen everywhere, and at anytime, especially when hard drugs are involved.
The Matt Hoffman? Dude can shred
How are they “shaken?” He overdosed. That’s what happens when you decide to live like this.
He has not to suffer anymore.
Only 4 deaths??? Well people die!
The only safe sleeping site is a room with a lock on the door. Also you need mailbox access to even apply for a job. Government needs to expand unemployment Insurance and pay it to all unemployed at local cost of living. Nonprofits have never changed things for the homeless, the “charities” take most of the donations & leave around 30% for actually doing anything. They are running a business off of keeping people in tents in their parkinglot. The “charity” will stop making money if those people get housed. They have no interest in actually helping anyone get back on their feet. We need Medicare expanded to all so people don’t die screaming with a hernia in a tent in a parking lot. America is a third world country..
