- In this interview, Lionel opens up about life in Philadelphia. He talks about how he ended up there from Texas, as well as his family back home. He's worried about his Paw-Paw because he said he hasn't spoke to him in a while and he hopes he's still alive. He's also struggling with addiction. He got assaulted recently, and had to get medical treatment for a wound on his head. He hopes to get his life together and get up off the streets and away from drugs.

He reminds me of my own son. One year ago today , my 33 year old son got on a Greyhound bus and never turned back to the street life or the drugs again. God Bless! He came back home.

Well said. I think about that all the time with these interviews I do. All of these people were once somebody's child, parent, etc.

@golddustgypsy6253 I'm actually just fascinated with people's stories. I'm fascinated with life in general. We all pass people on a daily basis and know nothing about them. From the 80 year old grandmother buying milk out of the grocery store to the homeless drug addict sleeping under a bridge. Each and every one of us has been through a series of events that has led us to that one place. To that one current moment in time. How did we take completely different paths through life and end up in the same spot together at the same exact time?
It's truly fascinating, but like you said, it can be troubling at times. Thank you so much for supporting the channel. It's truly appreciated. 🙏

This dude is an intelligent, articulate good guy. It kills me to see another addict going through this daily misery. The last 18 years have been THE BEST YEARS of my 58 years on this earth. Recovery IS possible

Recovery is definitely possible. And you're right. He's intelligent and articulate, and I also hate seeing someone else go through that misery. I hope he gets up out of there and back to his family to get the help he needs.

@1whocs486 I do not live in Kensington. Whenever I've been there, the surrounding areas don't look too bad. It's nothing like Kensington Ave. Allegheny Ave., etc. Whenever I mention Kensington, I'm usually referring to the Kensington Ave. area.

Lionel, brother, i know what youre going through! I used to be homeless in Las Vegas for years, and it was such a lonely and sad time in my life. I now have several month clean, am in a program, and have a baby girl due in 2 months. Life has so much better things to offer, and its possible to make a change. I pray that a miracle can happen for you, like it did me, and that something can pull you out of that lifestyle. Sending love and prayers your way!

The loneliness was one of the things that used to drive me crazy. It was so depressing. I just hit 10 years clean last month. You got this, Levi. Keep pushing forward. Im a 45 year old from the UK..i started using heroin when i was about 18 back in 1997 and ive been a heroin..methadone and crack addict for 27 or more years now..the time just goes..ive been in and out of so many detoxes..prisons..rehabs and other facilities ive lost count..thankfully about 15 years ago i stopped committing crimes and haven't been in prison since then..i have managed to get a nice place to live which is mine and i have managed to maintain my family connections..thank God my folks stuck by me over all the years of shit i put them through...and today although i cant say im clean because im on 100ml of methadone daily but i live an ok life and slowly im getting there..its great to see all the nice positive comments for this guy..most comments i see on these vids are always good and positive which is great because not all of us addicts are bad people..some of us have suffered bad things..some of us are empaths and struggle with this fucked up world..i wish this guy all the best and i hope when he is ready he gets better 💚🙏🙌
I'm so happy for you with the progress you've made. I know you said you weren't fully clean, but you've definitely come a long way and should be proud of yourself. I totally feel you on having family by your side part. I had the most amazing mother stuck by me. I put that woman through complete hell, but she never left my side. She's passed away now, but I'll love her and be indebted to her forever. My drugs were powder, PCP, ecstacy, etc. I just hit 10 years clean last month. @@unheardvoices_official thanks mate..we have that in common for sure..my Mom has been to visit me I every prison and detox and rehab I have been in and my dad also but my mom used to give me money because she knew I was out stealing and she hated it and she literally stood by me the whole time..my other family did also but my mom went above and beyond and I can never repay her but I'm trying by just staying out of trouble and doing my best so that she doesn't have to worry or anything..im really sorry your mom has passed mate..that socks and I'm really worried about when that happens to me because I honestly don't know how I will cope without my mom I really don't.
Anyways..congrats on the 10 years clean and well done doing the videos etc and helping bring to the light just how bad the disease of addiction is and how many folks suffer with it worldwide..its an epidemic now mate.

My daughter is suffering from addiction. We do recover. I had to myself and only when she's ready to surrender to THE LIGHT... is when we can recover. If I could do it for her, I would... but we cannot. I always give moments of silence for those sick and still suffering. They're is hope.

I used to put my mother through complete hell. She stuck by my side through it all, though. I would've never made it if it wasn't for her. Unfortunately, she passed away while I was in prison back when I was first getting clean. Never give up the fight. She'll get through this.
This guy has still got light in his eyes, i hope he keeps that spark , holds on to it, and it takes him out of this situation. So many people cross that line that marks their standards, stay true to that no mater how hard it gets. Wish you health and better times, man.🙏

Lionel is a good guy, I can easily relate to him in the interview. He seems to be in bad shape and it touched me to see the suffering in his face and his voice. I feel the sadness.
Sleep must be a big problem for homeless people in Kensington, now even more so after the big "cleanup of Kensinton Av" that the new mayor has instigated. Now cops order people to move on, to leave, they don't let them relax and stay at a place wherever they are, a sort of criminalization of resting or sleeping in a public space.
Lionel, try to get some help, I wish you all the best, and thank you guys for the interview.

I totally get it. It's definitely heartbreaking. He really is a nice guy. A lot of addicts aren't bad people. They're just stuck in fucked up situations they can't get out of. Thank you for talking to this lost soul to give him a voice and to know someone is listening and interested, if not just giving him the time to express. I have never in my life seen so many devastated homeless and addicted people living in this country as in the past 15 years. This is an intentional degradation of humanity orchestrated by our government. I can never forgive the politicians nor the ambivalent populace that vote for promises of pittances, instead of solutions to these problems. Please pray to right this ship so that humanity does not continue to fall to this despair. 🙏🏽

His grandfather made it work though. Everyone now thinks they deserve a free handout. Guarantee this guy was a junkie when he left Texas. This didn’t just happen when he got there.

I'm a recovering heroin addict and I remember being homeless. Theirs just this black hole inside when you have nowhere to shower a bed to lay your head on and fearing for your life. I'm crying watching this he's trying to convince himself that he's not to miserable but he is and it's tragic. No one should have to live this way wether a drug addict or not. My heart breaks for him and everyone else out there wondering if they'll ever get to be "normal". I send love and light to his soul and anyone else's who needs it!! You're loved by me and the universe. 🩷🩷🪬🪬

I was addicted to drugs myself for 18 years. I just hit 10 years clean last month. I remember being homeless as well. The worst part about it for me was the loneliness. It drove me crazy.
