Hallo, Ich hoffe, Sie haben eine weitere Chance, Penn & Teller zu täuschen, aber das nächste Mal werden die Reisebeschränkungen aufgehoben und Sie werden in Las Vegas vor Ort sein.
Dude, the "seriously?!" Is worth more than just getting the trophy. Setting up P&T to think they were absolutely certain they knew how you did it to pull the rug out from under their feet was fantastic. That is quite the accomplishment. Great trick!
Christoph, not only did you fool Penn and Teller, you had them confident that you didn't. Oh, plus you were funny, interesting, entertaining and the trick was great. Thank you.
I love how Penn just accepts that he was fooled, even tho he doesn’t get the full picture. Penn is so humble and can happily take the fooler result. He was so pleasantly surprised!
Haha the only part i thought i guessed was how he knew which game she would pick, it was the easiest to pronounce, and most Americans are embarrassed attempting to pronounce foreign words, and always intentionally say it poorly and laugh, it's a weird quirk, even though English is a Germanic language and it's really not that complicated haha
@@KaladinVegapunk Yeah, plus the trick of writing the desired one in an easily readable bold font and the two others in condensed fonts. Since she doesn't know the language she is repeating the only thing she can read at an instance. The astronaut is the usual slight of hand, she did not get to pick a random card. The fish, my guess is the big custom die was the thing he tricked them on, by making them think it was weighted. I am guessing that big helmet contained more than a fish. :)
Thank you for all your positive feedback, that is coming in. It was a great journey and I am so honoured to get such great feedback. Keep it coming :-)
It's clear that for the first part he made picking mein erster job look and sound like the best option to choose subliminally and it works most of the time and there was no magic just luck
Not only did they think they figured it out, but they were REALLY confident. So when the judges said you had fooled them it was an even better victory! I also loved how happy Penn and Teller seemed to be about being fooled. I could tell they were questioning the trick allover again to see what they might have missed or guessed wrong about. That's probably the best kind of outcome for those two: true joy at learning about a new technique they'd not even considered.
@film fan Penn and Teller don't know anything about the tricks they see. The first time they see it is on the show. If they think they figured it out they will make a guess about the technique used. If they aren't specific enough to describe the technique used then then they are fooled. An important way to keep everyone honest is that some of the producers are told/shown how the trick is done. Because they know exactly how the trick is done, they are in the best position to know if Penn/Teller actually figured it out when they made their guess. If they *think* they figured it out but the producers tell them they are wrong, then they are wrong. The pretend they hate being fooled but every time it happens, especially when they believed they had figured it out, they are almost always really happy. This is how I understand it, I suppose they could overrule the producers, but they never have so far...
If the "mug" (number 1) was selected, the Wizard in the helmet would first have to drink water (with a fish) to have an empty mug in his teeth. Some tricks require sacrifice. :) I hope this scenario was never intended! :)
Christoph, great performance, enhanced by your thorough. Explanation of the difficulties you faced in overcoming the logistical difficulties. Bravo! I'm an American living in Antalya, Turkey with my wife. Our daughter lives in Remscheid so we go there once in a while to visit them, especially our 4 year old grandson who speaks English, Turkish and, of course, German. Good luck in your continued magical career. Best regards, Dave Silverman
I think that's a Stuart Chase (1888 - 1985) quote, but I got so confused, 'cause I knew I read it somewhere before. Found out it's a St. Thomas Aquinas (1225 - 1274) quote: “For those with faith, no evidence is necessary; for those without it, no evidence will suffice.”
Being a mentalist act does have slight advantage over P&T as they are not that familiar with those methods. They still know them well, so it certainly was no walk in the park either to fool them. Adorable, humorous trick as well.
Super Auftritt, und ein wunderbarer Act. Schön zu sehen, dass Herr Kuch es geschafft hat. Hat mich riesig für ihn gefreut. Glückwunsch und bitte weiter so.

Great performance. It's a very different act and I'm still not used to the multiple layers of live and recorded video - I would love to see you on stage in front of my own eyes someday.
is it true that penn and teller make you tell them how it was done if you fooled them? Fantastic, funny, magical. Everything I could ask and more, what a splendid act!

I have no idea how you did this, but here are my predictions for each effect: 1. A gimmicked box, you could have done something to the box to make it whatever game Alyson picked. But I'm stumped as to the specifics of how this could have been done. 2. A deck switch, you switched for a deck where every card said "Astronaut". 3. Video editing, you showed a different video clip depending on the dice roll so the fish was always whatever number was rolled. If it wasn't that, then perhaps it was a "multiple outs" scenario where a fish wasn't the only possible outcome. I will say that I loved the trick. That is the only thing I am sure of.
Video editing is not allowed on fool us, they have to explain the trick to the crew, if it wouldn't work in a live setting, they wouldn't be allowed to perform it.
@@cerotidinon I don't think that rule applies in cases where watching a video is part of the trick itself, and not just a medium for showing the trick.
Besides, even with a loaded die, there is a remote possibility it could still land on a different number than the one intended. I could see that there were other numbers besides 3 on the die.
Mentalism magic is the biggest trick to me. I know how people do coin or card magic. Big stage tricks are mostly gimmicks. But mentalists... I just don't get how even possible to do tricks like that. Excellent show!
I think it is also fascinating how @Christoph Kuch is reacting to all of these comments. Anyways, right on man, I had no ideas on how this act was done, it's amazing!

Oh come on, I was actually hoping that when the fish was going to be revealed that the fish was in a bowl that was in the helmet, the fact that "Silent Me" could have been an animatronic, would have been Gold!
How would one reproduce this effect? Speaking as a scientist, not a magician I would do the following: 1/. Have one of the games with a name far easier for an English speaker to pronounce so it gets chosen 2/. Deck switch 3/. Loaded dice However it was done it was fun to watch, looking forward to seeing more weird magic from Christoph.
I do not know how the right box was under the cloth, and I do not know what any of these games are, but all three of the names of these games are related to jobs and professions, e.g. "Mein Erster Job" = "My first job", "Was werde ich sein" = What will I be?" and "Berufraten" = "Career advice." I think that he has a way of changing what box is in his hands or what the box says on it so that no matter what game gets picked he has a deck of professions for the rest of the trick.
The final bit....Could it be: there was a camera in the box which just happens to be tilted next to the rolled die, watched by someone somewhere else. There were 6 pre-recorded videos, with the fish at each number in a different video. The video was switched just before playing it (we don't see the start of the video). Strange that he told the 'random audience member' not to look at it

That goldfish was like, “I better get a bigger bowl now!”
He is living in a pond now, so he got what he wanted!😉
Fortunately it was the goldfish that got picked. The only way I could imagine the goldfish getting ditched during the act was... :(
The real goldfish was probably never in his mouth to begin with. Or at least only at the very last moment.
David Blaine does this with frogs and he swallows them and can regurgitate them. He has a stomach full of water before the act.
