Harry Keaton at Fool Us: "Greatest Act"

- Harry Keaton with Brain Magic. He fools Penn & Teller at Fool Us in Las Vegas. They say: "This is the greatest act we have ever seen" (and they have seen hundreds of magic acts).
The slow shift of Penn's face from ''ok'' to ''My mind is somewhere in a different galaxy'' after each prop is hilarious to say the least.
Masterful performance - even us at home that on video can ''see something', it still doesn't explain 5% of the trick, let alone everything else.
Brilliant, absolute perfect trick!
Thanks a lot!
You do realize that reactions on the show are edited, right?
When he showed the rock I was like: well the "rock" can be a sculpture out of sponge. Then he dropped it and it make a bang and I was like: well, he can place a heavy object inside the sponge sculpture, the bang will probably sell the illusion of solidity. And then he gave it to Alysson and I was like: okay, I've got nothing...
I think it's half rock/half sponge the spongy side doesn't hit the floor, the rock side does, and when he shows it to Alison he flipped/rotated it while picking it up.
@@plagiats that could very well be it...
Her hand doesnt go far enough into the box to reach the rock. Whatever she is feeling is sitting on top of the rock and is sucked inside the rock before the reveal.
It's fairly simple. He us switching the objects out
@@ITS_MK65 that's not it. that rock was too heavy to be switched out with a little finger yknow. i think there's two compartments in his prop. and when he slides it in or off it opens or closes the top half
One of my all time favorite tricks and presentations on the show
Thanks, I really appreciate your comment.
This was one of the best magic acts I’ve ever seen. You really captured the essence of a magical experience. Amazing work!
Thanks for your comment, Second Kira, it is much appreciated!
Just a phenomenal, brilliant, perfectly executed trick. And on top of it all, such charm, and such class. Mentioning that two other men were involved in the conception; turning the comment about "pissing people off" to a positive message. Absolutely wonderful -- it compelled me to leave a comment!!
so true!! ..i came by your comment.. moments after making a similar one here☞ ruclips.net/video/IWA5-WVDs_Q/видео.html&lc=UgxbxEigzgY_tcj67xJ4AaABAg
.
of-course i missed/skipped adding the 'turning the negative'ish comment to positive" part.. lest people deride me that i too am baiting Alyson.
.
Maybe it is natural for 'Muricans' to use that of vocabulary.
.
i too immediately noticed it and did find her choice of words a bit strange
Thanks George, that was a very kind comment that made my day :-)
Hey Harry! I was on the episode with you. Enjoyed your piece. As did the room full of people at my watch party. Keep creating beautiful magic my friend!
Hi Derek, I enjoyed your act too - you used some nice subleties. Have a great day and I hope to meet you someday in person.
Harry Keaton Cheers! As do I!
@@horizonstories Keep on presenting great magic :-)
@@KeatonHarry Hey Harry I know the NDA are still in effect but of course we won't ever reveal your truck, it priceless.
I loved this magic trick. Just like Penn said, it’s something I’ve never seen done before, it makes it so fresh and new. Congratulations on fooling them.
Beautiful performance.. loved penns reaction.. his mouth was open for the entire act 😂
I think Alyson's face at the end after the glass of wine was revealed was priceless. Totally "WTF just happened?"
When he took something from Box when he asked her that are you sure about the brush. I saw him. Lol. Fool Us has made me look deeper into these tricks I can actually see some now. Wow
When a legend in your field tells you you had the greatest act he's ever seen, I can't imagine better praise.
😀
The slight of hand here is magnitudes above anything we could comprehend. Bravo!
Lovely show. I enjoyed every moment of it.
Thanks, your comment is very much appreciated :-)
Man, you are very inspiring, this trick is the best i have every seen on the show and your way of thinking and presentation is incredible!
Thanks a lot - you made my day :-)
This is the kind of magic I love. I find most magic boring, but not this one. Great job!
Hey, thanks ... you made my day
I saw derren brown perform something like this in 2013 where he made someone think they were touching a wallet in a box when it was actually a tarantula! Amazing trick!!
Love this version of it, too! Well done!
That´s true. It think he startet with a glove. Great idea"
Brilliant from start to finish. 👏
Thanks Paul
I'm with Penn, this may be the best magic act I've ever seen as I have absolutely no clue how you managed to pull this off. Fantastically done I want to see more from you.
Thanks a lot. There will be more magic shown on this channel :-)
It's obvious he borrowed a replicator from the USS Enterprise NCC-1701-E. Let's hope Picard doesn't notice his Earl Grey has been replaced by his brother's wine.
Super cool, don’t know how this doesn’t have more views
Thanks Jack, the views will come :-)
Absolutely stunning, and so was Alyson!
Fantastic routine, I really liked this one.
This is a great trick in itself, but seeing Allison having a legitimate blown-mind really makes the trick fly. You see a sleight of hand card trick, and the person looks amazed or surprised, and that's cool. But here, Allison is just completely twirled at what her hand is telling her compared to her eyes. Beautiful.
Thanks Harry :)
Allyson's job may be de best job in the world
Great performance, just love it
Damn, I could watch this act all day, it's so cool!
So incredible! What a fantastic show!
My favorite magic trick on penn and teller
What a great performance!
Thanks; I am glad you like it.
This trick was so brilliantly put together. It *is* believed our minds are influenced and you simply took that and turned it into an amazing illusion. I'm with Penn in that it is easily one of the best tricks I've seen on the show.
This was terrific all-the-way around! Thank you! Great job! Thank you!
That is really a well-made box trick! I am glad you made it big enough to fit that cactus in it!
Sorry for replying so late. And thanks for your nice comment.
Das war wunderbar! I feel like I’ve seen the same thing in cartoons, but cartoons aren’t real life. I can only stipulate that you somehow slid the items in from the back, but they were too large for sleight of hand! Amazing job, and I hope that I might be able to see you in Germany when I (eventually) study abroad. Vielen dank!
Thanks for your comment. I hope to see you in Germany. Good luck with your studies.
Wow. That was stunning. Great job, Harry. You absolutely deserved that trophy. Congratulations in particular on inventing something entirely original. That's very hard to do, in any field.
Thanks David. The invention was possible due to a great cooperation with Boretti and Hakan Varol.
Wow! So fresh and so unique!🔥
Awesome
At 4:32 you can see him removing something and putting it behind his back. What that something is and how it relates to the entire act, I have no idea.
The best thing was the Cactus. That moment of „oh did he just take the brush out“ and then boom that giant cactus appeared 😄👍🏻
Thanks a lot!
I want to watch you perform some day. I also love your accent!
Thanks, I am looking forward to see you in the show :-)
I LOVE this bit! I love the riffing on advertising and subliminal messaging. I love how you lean into the accent and leverage it to perfectly fit the "kooky science" vibe. It's fantastic! The nature of the magic trick makes me *WANT* to be the guest participant in the routine to experience it in full. I WANT to feel a sponge and then see the reveal of a rock. Love it.
I love the smile that broke out on Penn's face.
Brilliant - Well done - Hope to see you on this again Harry - Happy Christmas from England .
Thanks Z.A.: Happy Christmas from Germany. We keep on going :-)
The cactus pot is huge! It can hold everything Alisson touched and then some!
Love Penn's hesitant clapping at 3:06 😂
This trick is amazing....i have the luck of owning one , and its just perfect.....thanks Harry for making my magic better
Thanks Peter; we all learn from each other ;-)
Possibly the most impressive fooling ive seen! Amazing reaction from penn gillette
Charming performance, simple yet astonishing set up, and a truly unique way to screw with one's senses besides hearing and seeing. Ich bedanke mich vielmals für diesen Act, und wünsche mit grüße aus Saarbrücken dir einen wundervollen Tag zurück ins schöne Berlin.
Thank you
Thank you very much for your kind words - much appreciated. Viele Grüße nach Saarbrücken!
Enjoyed it, thank you.
This was awesome!
I've seen a variation of this performed by Dan White on Jimmy Fallon. No matter how many times I see it, it still blows my mind.
How in the blue hell...??? It just looks way too simple. Bravissimo, my friend. Beautiful work. The best part to me is that P&T really were at a loss as far as even trying to figure out where to start dissecting the thing. I would love to see what they had written down on their notebook about it. ✌
Thanks my friend 😀
Just amazing.
Lieber Harry, Glückwunsch zum "Fool us!"-Erfolg!
Great act!
Thanks Nick!
Great feat
Thanks Renzo!
Excellente performance, félicitations.
You are a VERY SNEAKY MAN! What a fun trick. :D
when they saw the rock and the cactus their jaws dropped, by the time you got to the wine, they were just upset.
Amazing!
Glückwunsch! Großartige Darbietung
mrs accent rlly helps the mad scientist vibe
😀
I figured it out: you've invented teleportation. Beam me up, Scotty!
Haha, great - finally somebody got me 😉
Verdient! Eine wirklich großartige Darbietung, wie ich sie noch nie gesehen habe!
I've never been so astonished watching the show before
Cool, nice trick. I am not interesting on how you do it but in the final effect which is very surprising. Congratulations!
Everyone can see some moves on the video, but still nobody has an explanation for what the heck happened here. That was just amazing!!
Hervorragend gemacht. Keine Ahnung wie das funktioniert.
Danke sehr!
I saw a few of the moves and I’m a layman.
I’m surprised that penn and teller couldn’t see how the trick worked from their ‘lowered ‘ view, it was quite easy to work out .. but the trick itself was had a brilliant story plot
You killed it Harry...loved it...my dad used to do a mental trick by telling a person his exact date of birth by looking at his or her Face..... Do upload more videos of yours...shared your video with few friends too👍👍👍🎉🎉
Super,fabulous.👌
It's funny because when you first put the Rock into the box I guessed it was a sponge, And When Allison Said Sponge I thought she was right, but I was fooled just as she was and I seen it when you put it in the box. Great wagic routine thanks for sharing
the cactus base is were the cuddly toy and the hair brush or hidden , he then removes the cactus part while the brush or toy is put in its place as he moves alison from right to left , at 4.50 you can see the side of the base is not like the rest and even has it facing away from view all the time even when he sets it back over on the table , can see him remove few things also be for cactus reveal , and things hanging from his jacket , also look at alisons arm , it dosnt even go that far into the box , just about to were the base of the cactus would be . was more impressed with the rock
So much going on but easy to follow and seamless. I am admittedly clueless and the best part is I don't care. #inspiredAF
I love listening to the theories on how it's done by the muggles. Clueless they are.
@@ddavidjeremy actually at 4:32 u can see him switch an object out
I've rewatched this video many times over the years and i still have no clue how you did that.
I try but there's just no explanation, because HOW does a man PALM a FULL WINE GLASS?!
Thanks Mikhail!
I've seen trick glasses before, maybe that's part of it.
Excellent trick
Just the most unique trick take it to the grave it's just amazing
Using a cactus is a brilliant idea.
I don't think I ever seen Penn enjoy an act so much
Grandios!
Thanks!
The sides of the box play an important role in the trick
4:32 thats where the bear was
I wonder if his name is really Harry, or if it's just part of the act? The reason why I ask is because he looks remarkably like Harry Houdini. Either way, it's awesome!
4:33 you can see him remove something from the box!
the cactus was in his coin pocket
Harry, have you ever thought about translating your name into german, like a LITERAL translation such as "Harald Falkenplatz"? Because I unfortunately did and it entertained me greatly, just as you did with the video.
c mom, I figured that out and Im not a magician ...you can even see him switch it out 4;31
It's not a switch, he just removed the black cover on the cactus.
you cannot explain how and why she doesn't feel that massive cactus at all
@@ParxifalLDM maybe it's a balloon ?
Nice try fun dog. 🙂
Great trick, one of the best I've ever seen, just a small thing: that background graphic is completely and utterly untrue according to science.
Thanks for your comment; I am glad you like the trick. I´ll let the producers know what you said about the background graphic ;-)
we all saw the moments of switch
they saw it too
but for the life of me i can't tell how on earth this man switched a teddy bear with a whole ass cactus in a pot!
Well, let's say that that glass wasn't standing up all the time...
The only problem with this trick is that we, the audience, need to rely on Alison to convince us of what she felt. We don't get to experience the trick first hand but only second hand, so to speak.
That´s true and that´s why I show different kind of magic in one show ... to ensure that there are enough first hand experiences 🙂
First time I've seen P&T look genuinely surprised.
you messed up @4:31, i can clearly see you moving something out of the box, but where the cactus came from is another thing. probably more than 1 chamber in it. i can't believe they didn't catch that @4:31.
if i'd have to take a guess, that cactus was gimmick, something that pops up. i could see you meddling with something right before removing the front panel, i think you "popped" the cactus up from its base.
i know similar tricks, altho you say you invented it, it's based on the size-misconception. Alyson's hand was only 1/3 in the box, she couldn't have reached the bottom, no way. so cactus was probably in gimmick box and popped up.
rest was sleight of hand, at least that's my guess how it was done.
altho you messed up a bit, it was still quite amazing and unique performance. that's the best part about magic, if you do an illusion that has never seen before, then nobody knows what to expect or where to look.
I’m shock he fooled them, but congrats to him
Hi Harry. I have a bit of an odd question - when you were filming your episode of Fool Us, were there any other performers being filmed that day besides the ones who appeared in the episode you were featured in (Arkadia, Derek, Jandro)? I'm just curious because I have heard that multiple magicians are filmed in each block and then they're split up between different episodes, so I was wondering if anyone else who was filmed for the Inventors special ended up in another episode.
Hi James, of course the producers film all magicians with certain ideas in their mind. They need to decide afterwards what to do with the performances ... it´s quite complex: How many international acts should be in one episode, how many foolers, male/female acts, funny vs. serious ... the timing in television is different than in live shows.
@@KeatonHarry Thanks for clearing that up for me. I was just curious because to me, it really only felt like you and Arkadia were the only performers featured in the Inventors episode that met that episode's criteria (no disrespect to Jandro or Derek; they were good but their routines didn't really feel like inventions, so I guessed they were filmed on other days but slotted into that episode)
4:02 4:32 5:51 three moves I spotted
how the hell did you do that!
I came into this expecting some mentalist garbage that emphasizes this incredibly boring, played out script of "Look at this, I am a MAGICIAN and EASILY guessed your X" when the whole act is basically forcing an idea. Then... I watched the act. You deserve any praise you've been given.
I find it hard that P & T didnt know he was just exchanging things from his jacket to the box , he always moves into the box with every exchange and at 4:30 you see him move an object from the box to his jacket
Of course they saw that. You're suggesting he hid that Cactus in his pocket?
no he took the object that was in the box and put it in his coat the cactus is a realistic rubber cactus and the box its in is collapsable and hides in the the top plate of the stand, you can see him flip it up before he opens the box
Verdient! :)
Danke sehr :-)
Danke sehr!
I have no idea how you managed to make the switch to the cactus. Like, that thing was HUGE. Where do you hide it?! HOW?!
Can´t tell. It´s a secret ;-).
