The interrogation scene was done well only thing I am mad about is Joel didn't stop Ellie from slashing David like in the game... other than that probably my favorite episode since the Henry and Sam one!
Right, for pple who didn't play the game, they're gonna be fine since there's nothing to compare it to. But I enjoyed the fact that while in a burning building surrounded by flames on top of a predator, the only thing that could stop Ellies rage, was Joel. I loved that!
Although I have for sure missed seeing this badass Joel throughout the show, I will say that there is something to be said about the impact that this episode and that torture scene in general has after a few episodes of just *hearing* about how violent and badass Joel *used* to be and how he's changed, and then once Ellie is in danger we see that side leap back out of him like we've never seen before, like it's reawakened something that was dormant in him for a few years. I can't say if I like it better that way but it definitely does give it a different more eerie feeling over the scene, probably more so for show-only viewers
Yea, I'm sure it hits differently for them show-only viewers. Especially when they notice that Joel did the same interrogation tactic on the couple in the cabin in Episode 6. Shows them how differently it could've gone when Joel loses it.
Damn, this show makes David 10 times scarier than in the game, the fact that he used to be a teacher before the outbreak makes it a lot creepier, like this guy might doing something to his students
A clicker or stalker just one could've heard the gunshot, follows the sound and it could've attacked Ellie, Ellie misses a shot and it tackles her trying to eat her and David pulls out another gun shoots it and Ellie could've said " you had another gun" and they could've just went back to talking

Clickers or any type of Infected to show that they survive in the cold and giving Ellie and David a "bonding" moment to fool the audience. 2nd the soundtrack when Joel interrupts her, after calling her babygirl and their voices fade out. Those are the only things i would've loved but the episode was very well done! I do hope we get the game soundtrack for the hospital scene again :)

This portion of the game is probably the hardest for me to get through emotionally and this episode for me was no different in that regard. The finale scares me because from what I’ve seen it’s going to actually be the shortest episode in the entire season. If there aren’t giraffes and Joel killing a minimum of 15 people in that hospital I won’t be okay. However I am interested to see what they do because Ashley Johnson as Ellie’s mom was in the preview for the next episode so I’m curious as to how they’ll tie it in and also so excited to see the person who gave Ellie life being the one to literally give TV show Ellie life. I also wonder if they’ll try to tie it to season 2 more by including more backstory there but I don’t know how they would with having so little time. Can’t believe this journey for the first game adaptation is almost over.
