The real MJ fell into the portal with the last episode had Madame Web and Spider-man going off to find the real MJ.
I think Madame Web knew where MJ was and was taking Peter to her.
So, adapting part of Fatal Attractions show they aren't afraid to adapt less well-received arcs and take what they can from them, and with Xavier having messed with Magneto's mind, I wouldn't be surprised if a S3 with Onslaught was planned

So much to like - I like how it wasn't just beating or outsmarting the main villain - they literally beat the snot out of each other for a good 10 minutes and although disaster was adverted - nobody won. usually your villain is killed off or the villain is thwarted and detained or gets away - it was different. Fresh.
Let's be honest the only reasons why the Avengers are so prominent now is because the MCU could not use the X-Men. The X-Men where always the more prominent than the Avengers in media outside of the comics prior to the MCU. I guarantee, Marvel have used this season to test the waters and with the success of the show, following phase 6 of the MCU we will see them move away from the Avengers and head more towards X-Men. I also said from the moment Gambit died, with the Apocalypse and Cable footage in the opening that Gambit would be back as Death, which I can not wait for!
I'm wondering on what happened to Morph & Wolverine?? What timeframe are they in??

I'm a little worried about the whole Apocalypse thing, cuz are they going to retain the Apocalypse stuff they had already experienced in the X-Men 90s timeline? Like, his plot to take over people (like Angel/Archangel, and will Rogue remember Archangel?) or are they going to discard this?
NO one mentioned that Magneto had tried Asteroid M before, so it seemed like they didn't keep the continuity. I'm hoping they do callbacks to the Apocalypse they knew, and maybe will seek to try to change him for the better.
That was the same Asteroid M, Magneto didn't lift a rock out of the water, it was THAT Asteroid M. The Magneto Protocol was made because of Asteroid M incident in the past (otherwise, why would there be a protocol for something Magneto just did? But I share your worries. Beyond Good and Evil from the original already had the highest stake, Apocalypse taking over the Axis of Time. How can this story be bigger? But Beau DeMayo said he loves Age of Apocalypse, so it was more about the time Apocalypse won more.
It's called '97' because it is a direct continuation of the original continuity.
Apocalypse was resurrected by Cortez after that time story arc.

I absolutely loved it! Loved magneto, he did try and make a mends but the world just kept pushing him back to his evil ways and i dont think you could blame him. I also might have liked a little more wolverine but i get it, there is more to the x-men than just logan. Btw where did wolverine and morph end up future or past?
How come X-Men 97 gets this video for its ending!? Yet you have a Star Wars channel but you will not review any episode of the shows that have been out since the channel was set up.

I enjoyed the original's more leisurely pace.
97 has an advantage of building on the popularity of the original and isn't hampered by the rules of being a Saturday morning cartoon. Drastically different rules for kids cartoons back then.
I loved the OG series as a kid, it was the first iteration of the X-Men I ever saw. But your absolutely right. The og series was great for an animated superhero show for children, 97 is just a great show period. I tried to get my gf to watch the OG show and she just couldn’t get into it. So I showed her a video breakdown to get her up to speed. When it came to getting her to watch 97, after episode 1 and 2 she was 110% all in on it
I just hope Apocalypse is better than the Oscar Isaac version in that godawful movie
We all wish they'd modeled the movie character on the original cartoon version, for sure.
Anyone else think the finale was one of the weaker episodes?
It had a lot of ground to cover quickly but I wouldn't say weaker. Phoenix, Scott's eyes, Charles being willing to go down with a Erik, Morph as Jean w/ Logan... there's s lot to love.

X-Men 92-96 is great and X-Men 97 was alright.
