I got my Extra Tough last week. I tried it on my filthy rims, wheel wells, and engine bay, and thought it worked better than my normal "go to" Purple Power. It also doesn't leave the tacky residue that I sometimes get with PP. It's a solid product. As for the nay-sayers who comment on every minute thing (your foam isn't foamie enough... you're leaving over-spray... using Bead-maker is ripping off your customer... etc...) my advice would simply be - Ignore them. Don't acknowledge them... Let them whine in silence... Eventually they'll go away. Most of the time people like that are miserable in life. Let them be miserable.
Billy Ray COMMENT OF THE YEAR
Totally!
USE SIMPLE GREEN! IT'S THE SAFER CHOICE! CLEANS GREAT! IT'S NATURAL! WATCH THIS POSTER HE'S REALLY ABOUT MONEY!! GREEDY😤😦😦😦
Can I get a link to the extra tough?
@@captainamericaamerica8090 Yeah? So what?! He's greedy but he is also forthcoming about it. He discloses when he makes a profit off of products he uses/promotes/recommends. He habitually states that he won't promote a product he does not believe in. It's called "full disclosure". You either not listening or hearing what you want to hear. Jealous much?
I bought the gallon of Extra Tough and then I received a detailed email from Melvin Bernard, Georgia Meltex, explaining dilution ratios and other tips about uses, product development background. I was impressed with their follow-up after the sale.
I’ve been following your tutorials for about 2 weeks straight and this is some solid information man. Keep up the good work
Great video, this type of honesty is really needed. I detail hammered vehicles on a regular basis and I have to literally talk Barney style with customers to manage expectations. Dealing with time constraints, extreme heat, layers of filth, and still trying to get a vehicle that is rarely washed ( let alone detailed ) to a high degree of clean for a fair price never stops being a challenge. I personally wax / polish every vehicle with Megs finishing wax and top it with either bead maker or turtle wax ice spray wax... not fancy, but it is fast and it works. I rarely have a customer question my methods, but I get so frustrated with the ones who expect a Pebble beach level finish on their 15 year old highlander that’s never been waxed. They say things like, “well I seen this video, blah, blah....” As frustrating as it is, I found the best way to deal with this is to always set a time to evaluate every vehicle prior to the date of the detail. Yes, more time spent, but it has paid off big time. All the best.
Bro i'm so happy you said something about the bug etchings and the other stuff you can't get out. My customers are always stoked about the detail and im always upset about not getting that stuff out
Really appreciate how you share your knowledge and experience, how humble you are, how open minded you are and really I'm following many professional detailing channels, blogs and forums and here I feel that I've finally found my place on YT. Wishing you all the best and greetings from Poland!
Great video bro! I love your attention to detail! I own my own detailing business and I really enjoy your channel! Keep grinding and doing your thang!🐟
That customer must be crazy OCD about having clean cars because that Tahoe was pretty clean before you even started imo.
That’s what happens with black cars and for it being a SUV fuck that must be a lot of dedication
I really like these voiceover vids, keep up the good stuff.
I have a 2017 Titanium Escape Awd with the Black Appereance package. Which includes Shiny Black painted 19 inch rims. I use Eagle one triple cleaner. It's just under $5.00. I use a plastic pan scrubber with a long handle and medium bristles. Spray tire and rim once. Scrub twice
Hose off. I buy my car product's from Menard's to do my tires. They put car products on a shelf opposite of the other products on clearence for sale. Alot of people don't know a great buy when they see one. When on sale I buy as much as I can. During the late fall and winter that clearance shelf is full of great tire products. Even tire shine that's $9.00 during the summer. Is $ 4.97. A can on this clearance shelf. When your a detailer. You know thr prices of good products. Thanks for another great video. Shawn.
I'm on my second order of Extra tough. It's great. Got the black streaks off my camper when nothing else would. Love it.
How much does it cost to ship and order 5 gals of that?
Best Records Shipping is free. As for price, please go to their web site for the exact price to include your state tax. Mine was just a little over $38 a gallon.
Tried your magic eraser with ISO 91% straight. Total game changer. Then used my regular window cleaner. Streak free on a heavy smoker window. Thanks for all your videos they make me a better detailer.
@No Name Rubbing alcohol I wrote the wrong initials.
Nice videos man, thanks for sharing
Good one sir, a lot of information covered and shared, keep testing products and sharing your experiences
Nice tips. I'm learning a lot from your videos. Thanks!
Like you new video format. Vehicle looks great.
Hey Luke .... what pressure washer hose are you using it looks durable than a oem hose thanks
What is that product you used with the clay bar on the glass? optimum no rinse?
Hey Luke, what service did you perform? Wash and wax essentially?
Just stumbled upon your channel bro and I really appreciate you actually going through your wash step by step. Great videos from the few I've seen.
I'm looking forward to your x-press spray wax vs breadmaker. Actually just got some breadmaker I won from autogeek in today.
Also getting real on learning to manage on your own expectations is always great to hear. You really gotta burn that into your brain and let go of the OCD lol.
Have you used Brown Royal non acid wheel cleaner and degreaser from Flash, if yes what do you think about it?
Good video, Luke. I actually prefer the slightly runny foam as in my world I find that it stays on the panel a lot longer. The thicker foam is naturally much heavier and I find that I am wasting more product than necessary without utilizing the soap’s purpose of encapsulating the dirt.
What?
Hope all went well with your meeting. Good luck with partnering up with companies. Great video!
Totally agree about the foam. If it’s super thick it’s not running off as fast. If I foam, which is only when the vehicle is filthy, I spray it like a foam rinse and then I thicken it up a bit to wash.
Looks like a really good product! Have you tried applying it with a hand sprayer? Seems like that would get rid of the spay bottle and go on faster? Thoughts?
Beautiful finish Luke! Especially on black paint.
I had my 2nd customer last week and went down the rabbit hole really bad! Interior got me 1st. Jeep Grand Cherokee 17 model. Maybe vacuumed 2wice in 2 yrs... and they go to the beach a lot! Then after I was done I saw the bug guts on the front.... Holy u know what... fell back in that rabbit hole. Glad I watched this vid. excellent advise, and that's what I was thinking, not my problem, but the rabbit hole I went. Customer was very pleased...
Great video
No matter what I dout it is 2200 psi but great video that tire shine is flying everywhere luke😮
Isn't it funny how the more successful you become, the more free shit you get.. 🤔😁
But Luke has more passion for detailing than I've ever seen. He works hard and deserves success. Very cool. 👍👌✌
@Geniusyeah, I guess I have to agree, but so are many others. Look at PantheOrganizer, that dude loves *everything* he touches now. But can't say I blame them, and wouldn't do the same.
The bigger the channel, the more sponsors reach out and advertising revenue options are available.. Luke's channel is growing fast. Would be very difficult not to take advantage of those opportunities in some manner, regardless of what you claim publicly.
I take most detail channels with a grain of salt. More relaxing entertainment than anything else. Brian/Apex Detail is about the only channel that I actually trust enough to spend money based on his opinion. 👍👌✌
wise words Luke. Thank you for great insight
Hey Wilson, I just received my ExtraTough Package.
What ratios should I use.
Interior Cleaning and Exterior cleaning
it's on their website.
Extra Tough has a dilutiin ratio breakdown on their webpage in the description box. www.extratoughcleaners.com
They also send a sheet with the ratios when you order.
Luke, can Beadmaker replace X-Press Wax? Inside plastics, leather, vinyl and outside paint in sun? Have you switched over? Thanks!
I use bm on interiors with no issue, I dont use it on seats however. Try a small area out for yourself and see if it's for you
Please do! Beadmaker vs Xwax! That would be amazing! Sweet video, nice Tahoe 😁
I stand behind the auto magic wheel cleaner as well! Awesome wheel cleaner I love it!
How long does it take you to do a full detail interior and exterior?
Any recommendations for dingy white letters. Michelin’s LTX to be exact
FYI - fabric wheel wells also greatly reduces road spray on wet roads.
What shorts do you have because they look very comfortable for for detailing and life.
What do you recommend for protecting RV tires that sit in the sun 6 months out of the year?
Do you have any thoughts on Griot's Garage product line overall?
Logan Johnson great products man all I use is griots
This is a great vid. Any issues with the wheel cleaner on painted or powder-coated wheels?
J C I’ll let you know in a couple days. Just ordered some.
I use it and it is safe on powder coated wheels.
Is McGuires wheel cleaner acid based?
I use a power washer with a 0 deg rotator. ( I’m very comfortable with my washer) Spray on rims and tires and the wheel grime comes off like coffee.
I do very dirty rims in about 15 mins and very easily and they awsome
Hey luke, have you ever used Totally Awesome as carpet cleaner or bug remover? Ive had great results..
This dude is a helluva salesman. His videos are becoming more about products "he doesn't want to disclose info on" more than actual detailing.
That's what makes his videos so great. Take what he says and how he says it and apply it to your own approach
If that auto magic wheel cleaner worked as good as an acid cleaner you would not be scrubbing those wheels. You need to try RAGE by superior. Trust me
Recently subscribe to this guy's blog. Must say for me, I appreciate you bra👍.
What do you think about mixing meguiars express wax and beadmaker together for detailing????
Larry o It works great I use it on all of my maintenance clients cars an the shine is unbeatable and the protection usually last 3 weeks no problem.
P&S brake buster is good for tires and wheels. And it’s only 24.99 shipped. Try it, you’ll like it a lot!
So you have ET that isn't pink!!
Bought some btw because of a previous vid.
Lives up to your hype!!
FANTASTIC!!
Your planet must be closer to the sun than mine!
My bottle was in the sun at least 30 mins and it's still pink!
And yes, I #%^&&( bought a gallon of it!
Lol...the pink faded when I ledt jt i. The sun for 6 hrs. However, it still worked like a charm after it faded to a yellow tan color. It even froze and it still worked! Great sfuff.
Yo!!
This was Actually!...
A kick ass video.thanks alot
I'ma mobile detailer in my own business and I'm a fun of the spray wax I just found out about them only used the
meguires spray wax and
Turtle was spray wax
I'm digging the voice over video format
The title graphic on the video says 'a better way' i thought we were finally going to hear you preach on love. Lol
what hose is on your pressure washer? mine always kinks
What are the differences in using Auto magic wheel cleaner vs. extra tough at cleaning wheels (or which is better). And I always want to thank you for your thoroughness.
MWB have off brand uses like on chrome, have you tried the new wheel cleaner on chrome?
What spray tip do you use on your pressure washer?
Luke have you ever used Auto Magic Spoke? It is the very best acid wheel cleaner. Typical with any acid, precautions are necessary. But this is super effective on wheels and water spots on paint. Been using this for over 25 years. Beware it is very caustic and will need dilution for paint. And of course the usual keep it off the mirrors and anodized trim.
Luke, nice work and great tips. Think safety a bit more, stop putting yourself at risk. Standing on the tire to reach the windshield is and accident waiting to happen. One slip and you're at risk of missing a few days of work due to any injury. As you said watch out for your health and make safety part of the process.
Nice vid bro keep doing your thing they’ll always be haters. Personally I would use this product but with less spraying Gotta stay profitable, and a good 1-2 minute scrubbing. scrubbing always works better than pressure water alone
Hey Luke thanks for the video. Hope your meetings go in your favor! How come you didn’t clean and seal the roof of the SUV?
How does this compare to super clean on shampooing carpets or upholstery
Do a test of thick foam vs runny foam. I wonder if the thinner foam is able to pull more dirt off since it is running down the car faster. Super thick foam sits on the paint longer but dose that mean it helps loosen the dirt better?
s2kologist yes
This be what I need!
So with that wheel cleaner, it would be safe on all wheels right? Sorry I am a noob here, and honestly just trying to learn
What is your final thought on extra tough? I actually live in the area that the company was started in, I haven’t seen that cleaner since it was fluorescent pink years ago, I thought it was a little too harsh and corrosive for auto use personally but that’s was with the original formula, maybe it’s changed.
What do you charge for a detail like this? and what level of a detail do you consider this? just like a basic "wax" no correction detail? What do you tell your customers how long the wax lasts and stuff?
are really acidic wheel cleaners bad for rims? especially clear coated aluminium ones?
randomrazr no. It just strips any kind of sealant or wax you have on it already if any
Yes, PLEASE compare beadmaker to xpress wax! :)
Wilson, try out (Turtle Wax 50984 ICE Seal N Shine) been using it on my Corvette, find it gives slightly better results than beadmaker and super resistant to soaps and other chemicals.. I get it at target for $4.99, only drawback is the sprayers always brake or already crap when you buy it, so i dump it in a 4qt hand pump sprayer....
Hey can u show us how the product works on actually dirty tires? Just want to see how well it will actually clean tires that are dirty.... thanks for the vid
Simple green works amazing on tires....
Super clean
Search for the video introducing Ultra Tough. He uses it on his own car with great results.
In the detailing industry, it helps to have good knees!
Doug Boudreaux knee pads are a game changer for me
@@caution0101 Same for me except I use the foam pad to kneel on. Those days of squatting real low or kneeling directly on the pavement are gone!
I noticed Luke wearing a wrestling shirt in one of his vids. A wrestling background definitely helps with the low crouching/kneeling positions.
nice work bro. lots of wind that day.
Not trying to be a you know, but did you do the roof? If so how did you do it, get a ladder or something? Standing on the tires I wouldn't be able to reach it all. I only ask for myself to learn more cause I have a lifted truck and when I wash or detail anything I'll use a ladder or jump up in the bed of the truck. Keep up the great work man and thanks for reading.
The roof is extremely important to do since it is a flat surface and be prone to water spotting and the sun beating down on it. There is no excuse to never taking the extra time. I would be pissed if I paid for a wash and they didn’t wash the entire vehicle. If he didn’t do it there is no excuse not too. Just because you can’t see it is no excuse.
A toilet brush and a pressure washer will take care of those wheel well liners. I use it on my ZL1 and CX-5 wheel wells and it works.
Back when I detailed cars for a body shop we used ammonium-bifluoride wheel cleaner. The bottles had no safety labels and I was using it without gloves. It started eating away at my skin. One day the chemical company delivered some more and it finally had a safety label with the skull and crossbones lmao I almost had a heart attack. Never used that crap again.
can anyone help about my tires. i use tire cleaner and tire shine but after 2 weeks they always eventually turn brown. the tire cleaner takes the brown off, but after a couple weeks of driving, there BROWN again! am i doing something wrong
It could be your tire shine... Water or oilbased?
@@flemmingjensen3202 oil prob/ frpm meguiars in a can air spray
That might be it. Maybe you could test a waterbased one or no dressing at all, as it could even be your tires themselves...
@@flemmingjensen3202 my car does sit outside in the sun if that says aything. what do u mean it could be the tires? like it just happens due to the rubber
Max 2200 pressure washer v.s. Sunjoe? Which is better?
Is bead maker safe on tinted windows?
Can I use extra tough on my powder coated wheels?
Yes you can use Extra Tough on powder coated wheels. Extra Tough is safe on most surfaces. I use it on my vehicles as well as a lot of other things. It is a fantastic product. You can find it online at www.extratoughcleaners.com
8:46 "I don't wanna have to wear a mask" I feel that statement more than ever right now. Thanks Rona
best cleaner for plasti dipped wheels?
Nice vid, good approach with voice over, but man, even the Ivan himself said about ONR - "less is better" ,why so high ratio for windows claying ?
Need a purple power tire scrub vs this new stuff with no contact
I've also hardly seen you use a pressure washer to do wheels prior to using the new degreaser. Maybe that's the factor here more than anything.
I’m getting the same results with P&S Brake Buster
Why wasn't the top of the vehicle spray waxed/bead maker?? Just curious
Try Carcandy chocolate thunder for wheel cleaning. Spray and rinse off. Good and cheap
Xtreme Solutions has a non acid wheel cleaner BR211 works similar. The Automagic wheel cleaner has been out for a while if I can remember. Also most if us know super thick foam isn't the answer as well. Good video tho.
Have you had the chance to work with coveralls from superior products???
Lol
@@silverbulletent.8607 I must be missing something?
Hey Wilson 👋🏼 2 things real quick
1. Keep the videos coming in this format such a game changer, these videos are life.
2. I have a ceramic Tesla Model 3 that I baby the shit out of BUT I’m always watching your videos to learn how to be better. Currently using American Garage “wipeout” as wash soap and as a finishing spray. Possibility of doing a ceramic care video tips and wash? Would Hydrosilex make a difference with the Ceramic Pro 9H?
Thanks for input if you get a chance to read this 🙏🏽
He doesn’t use CP
barry cook can you specify?
He does not use the coating CP. so I would get advice from a CP installer and not from someone that does not use it.
barry cook yeah I’m done with you- u bring no value “Barry”
Dude stop acting like a child. You asked a question and I answered it. How are you going to ask a question about something then get made when I gave you a solution to the question. LUKE does not use ceramic Pro “9h” coating so he cannot honestly answer that question. I gave you advice to ask someone that is a certified CP installer. I am trying to help but you obviously don’t real want advice.
I agree with you, I have watched many detailing videos and very few actually detail cars outside in the elements at mobile locations, they are not true detailers. Anyone can detail a car inside a kitted out garage away from the elements but this is not reality, people want their cars detailed at home or at work, they do not have the time to be dropping a their car to some garage for a day. I wash cars in the sun all the time I can't afford to work at sunrise and sunset, its rediculous. Its the same with this 2 bucket rubbish, apart from being a waste of a valuable resource this method is guaranteed to give your car minor scratches. Get yourselves a set of 6 clean wash pads throw them in a bucket of clean water, rinse car, foam car, shampoo car and use a different wash pad for each main body of the vehicle, when done toss the wash mitt in a empty bucket, rinse and dry car. There is a lot of unnecessary wastage in this industry and good on you for highlighting it.
Excelente
Omg finally someone else says it no one believes me when I say auto magic makes some of Maguires stuff
What are your thoughts on the mothers speed clay bar 2.0
nick use regular clay bar gets the job done quick and painless the 2.0 clay bar you have to work harder to get those stuck on contaminants
None Ya I have one and it seems to work fine and fast but I’m not sure it’s fully getting everything cause I haven’t been using clay bars before
Cause I rub it and everything eventually goes smooth and everything ,I just wanted a second opinion
I didn't see you polish the roof. Do you do that too?
have you tried auto magic magnificent wheel and tire cleaner?
i use it all the time. works great on rubber. Removes all the gunk and dirt
Magnificent is great. It’s a low ph product. If you use an an acid wheel cleaner first, magnificent both neutralizes the acid and cleans on the base ph and gets what the acid won’t. But both high and low ph cleaners have to be used carefully
If you like beadmaker, then try duragloss aqua wax. It's even better.
Why don't you take care of the door jams here? Do you consider it part of the interior or the customer just wasn't interested in that?
how much do u charge for this kind of a job? thanks
Since this video mostly focuses on experimentation and product use, then I will say that with my own experimenting my ultimate results have conclusively been with griot's time and time again. And I have tested with indoor use as well as outside under full sunlight / varying temperature points
