I totally agree. Every other video tutorial I've watched on this has been so frustrating. They either go too fast and don't explain things properly or they leave parts out assuming we can read their minds....This tutorial is by far the best explained yet. Thank you so much. Thanks! Appreciate you sharing the fabric does *not* need to be a precise square. The extra rectangular shape of fabric (after folding and cutting on the diagonal) is so much more valuable to make as much much bias binding as possible than having a random scrap left over. I've watched countless videos on the process and I wish I saw yours first! I agree with others, you should consider doing more videos. Great instruction and clear visual of what you are doing ... truly appreciate you sharing your sewing knowledge!

The other video didn't specifically mention this and I was getting really frustrated about the whole thing - only to find out I had been doing it right all along even if it looked wrong. THANK YOU!!

Excellent video! The offset piece is the hardest part to understand and cutting it before sewing makes the whole process easier to understand. PS: Standing with your back to the camera is the only way I can fully understand the process. Thanks so much.
I love the tip to cut the line on the one point.... Also that channeled cutting ruler I saw one even handles it just a week ore so ago. Now it makes sense in how to use it.... I like piped edges... not sure I understood what you’re going to use all your piped bias for. Although I remember thinking that channeled ruler wasn’t a thick enough plastic and how careful one would have to be so that kids don’t play with it or it drop and hit a hard floor the wrong way. But now I see a actual need for one of those. I saw it at Joann’s and although they have plenty of cutting guides they rarely have the coolest ones. Thanks for your video Keep making them.

Everyone else says you must start with a square. So glad to be able to use a rectangle, as that’s what fat quarters are. Happy not to have much waste. Thankyou Can I just add, do not use a Frixion pen ! When I was ironing my seam open, I removed my carefully marked lines.

It's an old Rowenta with a water tank. I now use that one for ironing clothing rather than using it in my sewing room. I've had a Rowenta since then, a Reliable, and a Sunbeam. I've seen recommendations all over the spectrum. Some like an old $10 iron from a thrift store, cheap one from WalMart, or some cheaper ones from Amazon. I think it ends up being a matter of personal choice. Sometimes you get lucky & get an iron that lasts a LONG time! And other times, it'll spit, break, doesn't heat up, etc. The struggle is real. :-)

Thank you so much for this tutorial. I thought I understood how to make it and the lines much up perfectly, but mine is not continual. I couldn's figure out my mistake. Please, help me what could be the possible mistakes I made.
Mine never line up perfectly. I try my best to make the bias width about 2" and, as I roll the tube around while I cut, I probably cut towards the line I have marked. They do not always line up. Does this help? If I know that my bias strips won't be perfect in width, I make them wider so I have room for mistakes! Because I certainly make my share of mistakes!

Love your video, but I get confused because you can't tell if you are showing right or wrong side of material. I wish you would have used a fabric that showed what side you were working on :(
@@patsyspencer4746 I think it's my inability to imagine how things ought to be put together. I could never have been an architect! I have trouble with the other folding methods as well, but when you started pulling that piece of material into a bubble or something you just lost me. Apparently, many people could see it, wish i could.
