Wow, that is absolutely amazing. Has to be the easiest way I've ever seen to make bias binding!!! If not using a fat quarter, how do you calculate how much fabric to buy to make the binding?
Oh My Goodness, What a great tip ! Thank you so much for sharing this information. I never would have realized how easy if I hadn’t seen you cut the binding .. I think I have been wasting material the way I was preparing binding. Thanks again. Take care and God Bless, Chris-Raleigh NC
This was a fantastic rescue idea for me! Thank you so much! I used cuffs from a shirt whose sleeves were too short. I ripped out all the previous stitching and ironed well. Then I sewed the two pieces together on long side. Then I folded as you directed, and there was more than enough fabric to make the bias strips. I sewed them onto the sleeves, keeping the previous pleats and they look great! Thanks again.
I am brand new to sewing. Like new new, I got my machine on 3/30/2020. I'm so grateful that there's this amazing platform that has taught me so much about not only sewing projects, but also about sewing notions, trims, sewing supplies and so much more! I LOVE bias tape. Have I uses it yet? No haha. I have a project that I'll be working on soon that I'll finally get to use some bias tape! I love that I can also make these at home! I wanted to tell you that as a beginner your way of making bias tape has been the easiest that I've come across so far! I can't wait to make my own bias tape! Thank you for sharing this trick! I try to make as little sewing waste as possible and this is definitely the best way of doing it (that I've seen) that reduces waste! ❤️
O my goodness! This is like a magic trick! I can't wait to try it on some inexpensive fabric to see if this method will work for say, 1/2 to one yard. Have you tried this on a larger piece of fabric and if so, what were the results? Thanks for showing us the delightful, super-easy way to cut bias binding. :-)
WOW AND WOW!!! best demonstration on You Tube that I've found and it works!!!!
Holy cow! Brilliant! Makes it so simple. I might go get fat quarters and just store up a bunch of bias binding!!
