    **This Speed Booster is not intended for still photography but will work if the camera is configured to APS-C mode. 60p FHD video does not work at all.**

      It will work for still photography if the camera has a crop sensor like the R7 and R10

    Thanks for this vid, you broke down the reasons for this on FULL FRAME R cameras.

    Hi! Thanks for the video! Does it work with the canon r10?

    • @1KINDPhotography
      @1KINDPhotography  Год назад

      It should work since the R10 uses RF mounts and is a focal reducer.

    Thanks !
    11:52 On Canon R, there is a crop mode photography. Would it be usefull to use it with this adapter to gain one stop of light in some dark situations ? What about the quality of video and pictures ?

      @1KINDPhotography  2 года назад

      The same would apply in photography mode for all R-series cameras. This is meant to be used only in video crop mode.
      The quality of video is as if no adapter was used. The adapter does not degrade the video quality.

      @@1KINDPhotography I think Le is trying to say that in Photo Mode, you have several crop options, one being 1.6. I think in photo mode with that ratio you might be able to remove most, if not all of the vignette.
      One other potential advantage of using the speed booster is that you may be able to use EF-S/Crop sensor lenses.

      @@malmedia I can confirm that the EF-R3 adapter will work in 1.6x crop Photo mode. The vignetting look is removed. Just like Metabones Speed Booster, it will work in photo mode under APS-C crop but the speed booster was meant more for 4K video crop mode. I've updated the description with this disclaimer. I'm not sure if there are any negative effects or disadvantages if used in Photo mode.
      As for EF-S lenses, I do not own any. However, there are no white square markings on the adapter like the OEM Canon adapters/camera bodies to let you know where the mounting point is.

    Is there any slack with fitment between the lens and the adapter?

    • @1KINDPhotography
      @1KINDPhotography  2 года назад +1

      I've noticed no play in the adapter with the lens or the body.

    Does this work for the R5? I just put mine on with an EF lens and there's a black ring around the images. Any advice?

    • @1KINDPhotography
      @1KINDPhotography  2 года назад

      Yes, this works on the R5. Are you using a Sigma lens? If yes, you need to change a setting.

    will it work with efs lenses

    • @1KINDPhotography
      @1KINDPhotography  2 года назад

      This is for EF lenses only. There are no mounting indicators (white square) for EF-S lenses.

    • @Hiah.l

      It should work since Viltrox's previous EF mount adapters(EF-m2/EF-MFT) work well, but why would you use a crop lenses on a speedbooster? You might as well get the cheaper dummy adapter at a fraction of this cost.

    what is on the r7: will it work

    • @1KINDPhotography
      @1KINDPhotography  2 года назад +2

      This come from the CANON EOS R7 specifications: www.canon-europe.com/cameras/eos-r7/specifications/
      5 .The operation of the RF 5.2 mm F 2.8 L DUAL FISHEYE is not guaranteed. Excluding EF-M lenses. Operation of EF Cinema Lens is not guaranteed. Operation of the mount adapter EF-EOS R 0.71 X (sold separately) is not guaranteed.
      Here is also a video of Rudy Winston from Canon doing a live overview with Adorama and at the 31 min mark of that video - ruclips.net/video/jnh5gAcdVNk/видео.html
      He states that Canon has not officially said that it doesn't work; that it won't break (and it won't) but said it was intended for "Cinema" use.
      This is basically a formality saying it works but we don't want to encroach on our Cinema products.

      @@1KINDPhotography thx i will test my 70-200 f4 is usm on the r7. that should be nearly the same focal lengh on fullframe with 2.8 i guess

      The new R7 and R10 are both crop sensors so this will work with still photos

    • @OhWinsYT
      @OhWinsYT Год назад

      @@DJBastor it's still crop so you have to do 1.6 x 0.71 which gives you 1.136. Multiply that by 4 and that gives you about 4.5, not 2.8. However that is better than 6.4 without the adapter.
