This is my favorite video of yours yet. Never knew how emotional these scenes were until this project. The prolonged shot on Hosea says so much. Beautifully done.
In the end, this was Dutch acknowledging that it was kinda over. That in the end, they did it. They fought the law, the government, the forced laws and rules. They fought to carve out theor own place in the world...and they did. In their own little way, they beat them. They won. Whatever else happens, Dutch and Hosea, they did it.
I just played at this part of the game. To believe these interactions are like movie scenes if you film it like this instead of just standing and looking at them in game is crazy
Oh we understand where you are coming from. Standing around just staring at them now makes you feel like a 3rd wheel. They barely even acknowledge arthur if he happens to be standing near by as well which to us, means he shouldn't even have been there.
1:14 the angle on Dutch and the fact he doesn’t blink makes him appear so unhinged😢💔 when i saw this in camp it seemed genuine, spoken sweetly, but in his eyes… i see his desperation to be believed in.
The slight pull in on Hosea before he picks his head up mid convo emphasizing the emotional discrepancy between the two at this moment is great! It is amazing to see such a minor interaction given the weight it calls for. Bravo
What I love most about that convo is that they're holding hands as they reminisce. I love tothunk of them as an old married couple lookin back on the good ol days
@@kbowman968 🤔 i do kind of remember that. If you ever find it let us know. I feel like it was a camp interaction but I can see it in a mission as well. Just some of the banter they do when not talking about the mission itself

Which makes this whole thing make complete sense. They really are like a married couple trying to lead the gang. Even tho things have gone bad in their life together, they still stuck by each others side. Thanks for bringing that up. I knew I had heard a line like that before. Been so long since I've played chapter 3
@@SabrinaRed i think dutch believes all this. He believes they are safe and out of trouble. They may have gotten away from the law down south, but they aren't getting away from the Pinkertons. I just absolutely love the look on Hosea's face. How concerned he is
Very possible. Hosea is one of the only ones that can convince him of a new plan. But if Dutch really has something he wants to do, even Hosea can't talk him out of it sometimes.
I agree. I think Dutch is trying to be genuine and just trying to have a moment with him. But Hosea seems stand offish and by the crack in his voice when he gasps or whatever you want to call it when he is biting his lip, he seems like he wants to believe everything is gonna work, but in the back of his mind he is having doubts about him.
If you talk to Hosea immediately after, he sadly says "Am I stuck in the past, Arthur?" He knows his heart has been broken. He loves Dutch, but he's not sure this is the same man he fell in love with so long ago.
This is the first video of yours I've seen. This idea to make the interactions into cinematic cutscenes is awesome. There is so much more emotion and human details I never caught in the moment at camp. And how you framed the shots were perfect! You certainly know what you're doing. Definitely, keep it up!
Aww thanks for checking us out! Its insane the amount of emotions you can miss in 3rd person. But its also amazing that all that emotion and human detail is still present even when you are not looking at them close up. Rockstar and the actors did an extraordinary job. We still have alot to learn, but we are understanding the techniques and researching alot about filmmaking😁
Wow this was amazing!! The emotional displays during these camp convos aren't always easy to see in game, but man- you guys made me see this convo in a WHOLE new light. You can really see Hosea's expressions and this scene has so much more under the surface. Thanks for sharing this one with us, it is truly amazing!!!
Wow this is really amazing and gives me a new perspective on their mindset at this point in the game. As someone who loves the art of acting and performing it’s so cool to see how the actors put lots of subtleties into these campfire scenes. These details are SO easily missable when you play the game but what you folks are doing really brings out those great details and adds so much to the depth of the characters. Keep up the great work cowpokes!
They really did such an amazing job! We are so happy to hear you really enjoy this scene. We knew everyone would like it. It really feels straight out of a movie or TV show
This is not even a cutscene but just one small part of so many interaction going on the the party and look at the performance capture. Most other game don't even fo performance captures for actual mission cutscenes.
@@TheRedDeadRedemption2Show this actually follows a lot of cinematography rules used in movies it’s insane, such as having light on one side of the face and shadow on the other
@@majumder456 that cool for you to notice! We never followed the rules till now. But it does make for some good shots, but breaking the rules makes things look better in a way. Like some of the framework done in the Pearson and Reverend interaction. I like the swap to the other side. Plus alot of the time their good side isn't in the good lighting or whatnot. So we try and do work arounds. Also moving clouds every so often helps to get the best lighting for daytime shots. And we just now started adding extra lighting when possible. Side note: we started researching all that stuff over the past year way after the start and its crazy to see the improvements. Not just the cinematography but the camera mod itself really improved.
This is beautifully shot, there's a scene where they were holding hands; so many scenes of them touching each other, etc, they were lovers, which makes Dutch's slip of his mental state even sadder.
There is still one more remake to be done with this one. It will be shown when we end up remaking the actual episode of the party. The reason it was cut was to legthen the expression on Hosea's face. Something that really struck us was how concerned he looks. But when it is remade for the actual episode, it will include a good angle with them holding hands

Been watching a few of your videos. This is so good. It gives more emotional depth and showcases more the great acting this game has. I can't be sure about the rest of the gang members but Dutch cared about Hosea. He truly did.
This is an incredible video. I love how the shots are taken and how it's like watching a movie. I noticed in particular that the lighting on their faces, to me, represents their true selves: Hosea has most of the light on his face to represent the goodness while on Dutch's it seems like it's foreshadowing his turning away from what he once was. By the way I look at their faces I imagine how even Hosea is losing hope, given that he was the one who would always provide council with Dutch's big decisions. Either that or also he knows that his time's coming soon.
it makes me SO happy that you understand exactly what we were going for. we really thought about moving the lantern slightly to light up dutch’s face a bit more but we ended up keeping it because it helps emphasize the contrast in these characters.

You are so right! They've been through alot together. So many many years. Dutch wants to believe they have made it out, and for now at this point they kind of have. But it doesn't last long at all. If Dutch would just listen to Hosea more, things could have turned out different😔
