Lovely stuff! Elegant Tushka with engines singing, taxiing with buckets out, rolling take-off and steep climb out! Those pilots certainly knew how to put on a show! 🛩💙🛩
Speechless, I am totally speechless and in awe. This was my world once upon a time. Bedankt Patrick om een stuk uit mijn jeugd wakker te maken. Heerlijk dat geluid.
dank u wel , Bas , heerlijke tijden , when sound and beauty ruled the skies , magical treasures from times gone by , btw love your DS profile picture , vintage gold 😉
I've only ever had that at Prestwick with Ryanair and Athens with Olympic. It never seems to be the wisest thing to do. I always imagine them skidding off into the grass!
Beautiful video!! One of the joys of having a summer or skiing holiday in Bulgaria prior to 2007 was flying on the TU-154! Thank you for sharing this video it brings me nostalgia!!
Patrick another visit from Tupolev University from an established graduate who still can strut her shapely frame down the avaition fashion runway.Nothing like the old metal stalwarts they are a diminishing group of planes no doubt about it.Beautiful livery so proudly designed for us planespotters to see, and the love quartet zooming for take off.Take in the light of thinking just as fun.Patrick have a great weekend and catch you on the next flight. Since you showed the thumbnail I have been waiting to see this video.
best regards , btw i remember VIA at your home airport as well , mid nineties as well as others such as Omskavia and others such as IL76 , AN22 , AN225 😉
Got a chance to fly on one of these exotics a couple of times early 2000s. Quite unlike the modern A and B types in terms raw unfiltered sounds, looks and feel. The forward facing pointy on the horizontal stabs remind me of a scorpion's sting. Sad they've been relegated to history.
The Russian Air Force still flies with some. Pre-Ukraine (the 2022 part…) I saw one at Amsterdam-Schiphol, awesome to see one after so many years without!
The Tu-154 is an interesting aircraft. But there are also interesting aircraft in the background. Start watching from 0:49. Antonov and Ilyushin aircraft are visible in the background.
I remember seeing that one at Heathrow when it was operated by Balkan Bulgarian, along with Tu-154s from all manner of Eastern Bloc airlines: Balkan, Aeroflot, LOT, CSA, Tarom, Malev ... now it's all just A320s 😐

@@u2bear377 Right🙂. But look at how it looks in comparison with the boeing 727 or say the sharp MD-88. It probably is a good aircraft. But regarding the looks, I wouldn't buy it.
Love how the main landing gear on 154's sweeps up and back like a bird. It has a certain elegance about it.
Прекрасный взлет Ту154М, класссссс!!!! 👍👍👍👍👍
Great video! Amazing the angle of climb! The power of a Jet engine! Gods' gift to mankind to enjoy

Turned the corner rolling in that beast. Always love the lines of that -154. Awesome livery. Nice capture!

Another masterpiece from Patrick and especially enjoyed the take off and climb out!!😊😊😊😊😊

cool scenes, we fly in 2003 from DRS to VAR with AirVia in the TU 154, it was loud and fast, nice memories
I absolutely LOVE the sound those Solovievs make!
Lignes très élancées, très élégant ,le bruit des moteurs rappelle le chant des oiseaux.
COINCIDENCE :) Soloviov = rossignol en français : superbe🙃
This bird was a weekly visitor to GLA during the summer in the 90s. You could hear, and smell, her in the towns miles around the airport.

Nobody’s talking about the FANTASTIC sound the engines give during taxi? And the Alouette we heard in the beginning, was that a Belgian Navy one?
probably yes , my focus was somewhere else😄 , thanks for observation
Wow. :)

I need to book a flight with Air Koryo. Do they still fly the 154s?
i believe 4 154B 's are still in service

One has to wonder why they can't fly almost anywhere. Silent as a small bird... 😁
music is in the air 😄 nightingale concert
Why did the pilot open the reverse thrust buckets in the taxi?
Because his Vodka bottle accidentally fell on thrust reverse lever.

It’s a taxi speed reduction aid. Can still be seen today on the later Gulfstream series aircraft.
