    I don't understand your reason as to why you don't like sun sticks. Your friend recommended you a sun stick, you then proceed to buy another sun stick. It doesn't work and then declare ALL sun sticks are not good over makeup??? You've literally just used one sun stick, at least try a few more before you come to that conclusion. Maybe try the one your friend mentioned?

    What is the difference between a chemical one and a mineral one??? I didn’t really know about skincare much. I have oily skin and I use anything that has good reviews for my skin type.

    • @TONADRIEL
      @TONADRIEL 10 часов назад

      Mineral sunscreens are exactly in the name, they contain minerals that sit on top of the skin (leaving a white cast) that prevents sun from getting past it while chemical sunscreens use UV blocking chemicals that absorb into the skin for a sheer/flawless finish. if you have oily skin you can try looking for a matte finish sunscreen, both chemical + mineral come in matte finishes so it's more about what you prefer. You don't need to know a lot about skincare, it can be as complicated as you want it to be: you can either do trial & error or you can research the sort of active ingredients you want. for oily skin just make sure you're also cleansing at least once a day, usually a night, to remove that excess oil & sunscreen

    So we gonna ignore the fact that almost all chemical sunscreens, Korean or not, are PROVEN endocrine/hormone disrupters that absorb into the bloodstream. To top it off, most of them contain at least 3 filters. That's at least 3 toxic chemicals being absorbed every single day. And those that apply multiple times a day were proven to have even more in their their bloodstream. Hormones control everything that happens in your body, just use mineral people!!

    Aren't sunscreen sticks unsanitary though? I mean you just use it when you are outdoors and people don't wash their faces before reapplying it and they do it on top of all the dried sweat, oil and all the gunk that sticks to your skin that's present in the air. I think I'd much rather prefer a tube sunscreen instead of a sunscreen stick. Way more sanitary in my opinion.

      chemical sunscreen has chemical filters which absorb the rays and convert them to heat preventing them to reach the skin underneath. the mineral ones have physical filters that reflact the uv rays away from the face thus avoiding them reaching the skin underneath. mineral sunscreens are better for sensitive skin but can leave a white cast and look ashy but the chemical ones are nonashy but can be a little oily on skin .

      I don't think of it as mineral vs chemical sunscreens, more of physical vs chemical. I prefer physical sunscreen, which is often mineral in formulation as well.
      Why I like it:
      1. Physical sunscreen requires no reapplication after 2 hours (unless it has physically melted off due to sweat, or wiped off etc)
      2. Less irritating - I don't have sensitive skin, but physical sunscreen doesn't sting my eyes
      3. Doesnt endanger ocean life
      No chemical ingredients like ethylhexyl methoxycinnamate that kills coral reefs
      4. Has a white cast, ranging from slight to obvious depending on brands - I prefer a tone up effect so I go for those with a moderate amount of white cast. Also reminds me that my sunscreen is still there.

      This is is a chemical sunacreen. I acc have this one and honestly, it does move my makeup a little bit like when you try blend it in that makeup will disappear. So i keep it away from my undereyes since thats where i put my main conceler on.

    Hmm... I'm going to ask a basic query- Why not apply sunscreen under the make up instead of over the make up? Or are you trying to reapply the sunscreen

    • @anastasiap1856

      It's for when you want to reaply. Of course you have to use sunscreen under makeup as well

    • @TrueBeelzebub
      @TrueBeelzebub Год назад +17

      It’s for reapplying. If you wear makeup, in the morning you must apply sunscreen under it.

      Cuz sunscreen last only 2 hrs so we suppose to reapply every 2 hrs which with the stick is easier

      Sticks are mainly used because they're convenient when you need to quickly reapply.

      It’s funny because that’s a topic that’s been revisited over and over by every single “skin specialist” on RUclips and there is not a single way to do that without getting your makeup ruined. 😂 just put it before tour foundation and go live a little.

    I’m so mad because Shiseido is almost perfect except for the mineral oil.
    Edit: ah this thread is a dumpster fire. Yes I know mineral oil is deemed safe to use by derms (though personally it breaks me out, enlarges pores, dulls skin etc etc), my point being it’s a cheap ingredient that offers no real benefits other than sealing in moisture which is not a special feat, there are literally hundreds of options that do a substantially better job AND provide nourishing antioxidants. It all comes down to what you’re expecting from your skincare. I want my $$$ products to nourish my skin, not just sit on it.
    Thank you for coming to my Ted talk.

    I got a really bad reaction from the AHC suns stick. I have dry sensitive skin and even though this product claims to be for sensitive I still got the worst reaction. Not gonna lie I do get a lot of reactions from sunscreens so I’m probably just Allergic to there ingredients but it really is hard looking for sun sticks or sunscreen in general that works on sensitive skin.🥲
