I’m 54 years old, and a major Metal Chick!! I really miss the days when the music was amazing, and life was so much better. I will still be rocking out on Hard Rock/Heavy Metal until my last breath!!! ❤
I was 20 when they came to Colorado Springs. I was working at the big record store here and they did an instore appearance. Robin asked if I was coming to the show, but it was a 21+ club. He put me on the band guest list so I could get in. Kickass show, and good dudes!
1987. Holy shit. Will never forget or stray far away from this. McCauley breathed new life into Michael. And this band fucking smokes. I was lucky enough to see this twice
Robin McAuley is singing in a Vegas show called "Raiding the Rock Vault" that pays homage to many of the best bands and songs from the 70s to the early 90s. As a vocalist, he still has it - he can still sing his ass off. A quality, entertaining show for anybody that grew up listening to this era of music
I used to blast this album back in 1988 when driving around in my old Trans Am. I miss music like this and cars like those. I've been trying to find this album on CD.
Louis Shackelford I have the cassette. I been looking for this as well. They don't have them good record stores anymore, that you could walk in and get great rock CD's like these. Their cassette of this is great. I hope you find the CD. I'm looking as well. Great music for sure.
I remember I saw this video in 88-89 in Goeteborg, we visited it once a year for a couple of weeks and it was the only place to watch cable mtv with lots of metal stuff for headbangers. this song is insanely catchy, missed it in childhood as we came back to Moscow in early 90ies. should have recorded it on a videotape back then. I am more into 90ies, but there was some magic about that glam and rocknroll attitude of the 80ies. thanks MSG!
Caught this line up at the Vic in Chicago on the Perfect Timing tour. Got a great picture of Robin McAuley, I held up my camera and he leaned into the crowd for the perfect shot, great memories, forever a fan.
Awesome song.. Should have been on every radio station in the late 80's early 90's... why did this not get mmore radio play... Worth the price of subscription in XM's Hair Nation... How can you not miss these days gone by??? Great bands, smoken honeys.... take me back! PLEASE!!!!
Man I played this song so much it wore out the cassette !! I bought it just for this song and found the other good tracks on it. 80's metal was the best sounding stuff ever !!!
What a great song; and the Schenker/Perry solo in the middle is incredible. I love how Mitch Perry's solo comes in full throttle while Schenker holds the final note of his. They certainly don't write them like this anymore.
In the mid-late 1980's, this was on my system rotation, the entire CD. Had a Sony front end, 10 disc changer. I had no back seat in my bug. It was all custom built subwoofer box up to the windows, with a pair Rockford Fosgate 15" woofers on a Power 300 amp. A Punch 150 powered a pair of 8" midbass & mid/high satellites. Had 2 deep cycle marine batteries behind the front seats, but never got around to upgrade the power generator. The headlights dimmed to the beat at night. Back then it was a big system. I loved jamming on MSG, among a lot of other 80's music of the period.
give me the 80's music for the rest of my life..so many bands..so many that were original and had a sound of their own. Im glad i got to experience it!
Gimme your love you know what it does to me....drives me crazy...ain't telling no lies....My favorite by these guys. Can't sit still with this one. ;).
If I had to make a list of favorite songs of all time...this would be in the top 10 for sure. I'm 21 and I grew up with my dad listening to all the 80s rock/metal and this one is one that takes me back to my really young days. Timeless song
Us older people all miss the 80's such great music we all had back then. What is the no so called music and rap, to be flushed down the toilet. all garbage.
Big drums, big hair. I miss my youth! I was about 20 when this song came out. I wore my hair long like this from about 18 until I turned 22. I went through more hairspray on the weekend than many of my girlfriends...definitely a unique and great era for music.
Believe it or not, those of us in our 20's in the 80's, thought the music sucked compared to the 70's. We thought rock and music as a whole was getting worse. We couldn't appreciate the music of the 80's at that time. Looking back now over 20 years, you realize how you took this stuff for granted. In fact, the music today sucks so bad, it can't even come close to the 80's. You don't realize what you had until long after it's gone.
i was in my 20's in the 80's. I wouldn't say I thought 80's music sucked to me at the time but yes, the seventies were the best. never got into hair metal as it was so cheesy. Then in the 90's I thought the same thing- music is getting worse.. Today, I appreciate the 90's so much more
@80srockforever666 -- you are more right then most might ever know... I agree with you 100 percent. I used to play guitar to this song over and over as a kid.. along with many others. 2 fingers up with 2 finger gap... Metal Horns...
Monstrous - and timeless - production values on this album by none other than mastermind Andy Johns, engineer on almost all the Led Zeppelin albums. Also produced/eng Cinderella, Satriani, VH albums of the same era. Signature huge drums and wide-open sound. Doesn't get any better! Makes the most out of any stereo system! :-)
Heard this song on the radio today. If I didn't have something cool and new (to my ears) to listen to, I would've felt miserable walking through the spontaneous blizzard to school this morning.

Robin McAuley was the front man of a band called Grand Prix back in the day. I saw Grand Prix by chance at Hammersmith Odeon in London supporting the main act, Sammy Hagar. One song - Keep on Believing - blew me away....I went out and found the album (There For None To See) and been a favorite of mine ever since. You can see a video of Keep on Believing on You Tube....great track. Great British NWOBHM Band! Ironically I became an MSG fan when the M stood for Michael and the leader singer was Gary Barden......have 3 albums as I recall....but never followed them as McAuley-Schenker Group!

Robin McAulay definetely, one of the 'elite' singers of the eighties!
And vastly underrated to this day. His range is epic. Quite simply the greatest rock anthem of the late 80s.
The feel of Michaels guitar from 02:50 … exquisite. Michael is definitely my guitar hero. An absolute legend.
