It was 1989, and heavy metals days were numbered, but this song hit the radio and I was blown away. Robin McAuley's voice hits like a jack hammer. It has a classic, timeless sound to it like a Zeppelin tune, but at the same time sounds very 80's, they don't write em like this anymore.

When I first heard MSG on radio back in 1987, my first initial reaction, this band was a new Scorpions persona with younger band members only to learn the vocalist by the name Robin McAuley. Purchased a "Perfect Timing" cassette, and MSG became one of my favorite rock bands other than Scorpions, Whitesnake, Dio, Kingdom Come, Y&T, to name a dozen.
Watching this makes me so sad to think that it was the music of the past....i hope and pray that someday stuff like this would blow up our radios again...

I used to believe that all modern music sucked, but my opinion changed when I discovered Dream Theater. That opened my horizons to an endless fray of awesome music. There is so much good music out there, but it is usually found in a heaping pile of trash that's made up of synthetic beats and robotic sounds wrapped around lyrics that are rhetorical and trashy. I discovered Angra, Haken, and then Jazz Fusion bands like Casiopea and Tribal Tech. Modern popular music is garbage, but there's more good music to discover than ever before. I hope my generation (Z) comes to their senses!
God I wish today's music would be half as good as it was in the 1980s, this is one of the best power ballads of all time and it should've been a major Top 40 hit, the hair metal wave was the last great era of rock music IMHO
msg had the strongest hard rock ballads hands down. robin and Michael had some great chemistry. if they would have made it another 10 years they would have been big time big. they always were for me, I couldn't get enough of this music. still can't get tired of msg.

That's some very romantic guitar playing there; it's a very well-crafted song. My son and I saw Michael Schenker at the Pabst Theatre in Milwaukee last year and he played the subdued arpeggiated chord part with extreme focus and delicacy. It was one of the highlights of the show.

Michael Schenker is one of the most underrated and most talented guitarists in the history of heavy metal.
The McAuley era was MSG's peak. This is fantastic stuff.
