You inspire me to go for this sort of build one day. My NCASE M2 is currently sitting still in its packaging. I’m still sticking to an AIO atm but maybe I’ll make the jump someday to a full water cooled system someday 🙏🏼
I'd say do it for looks, not so much performance. I watched a great comparison a few months back between a 280 AIO and Noctua air cooler, and I might go back to air cooling for my next build. Custom water cooling looks amazing, but the actual cooling benefit is minimal, and you drastically increase the amount of potential failure points. Plus, it costs more than an AIO. You'd think the fittings were made of gold or something.
@@v12tommy that’s one of the things that’s held me back from venturing into something like this. I’m not really concerned about the looks of it since I can’t even see into the case anyway. Can you please refer me to the video you watched with these comparisons?
@@Booogely I watched several videos, and I don't think RUclips lets you post links in comments, but the one that convinced me the most was JayzTwoCents. I've always built in a full tower with a window before, and am looking forward to doing a SFF build this time around. Like you said, I won't be able to see inside it unless I need to service it, so if air cooling gives me similar thermals with less failure points, I'm all for it. Eventually I'd also like to delid the CPU on this build, but since this will be my first SFF build, I figure I'll get it running first, and then attempt the delidding down the road. I don't want to bite off more than I can chew.
Although I think using air cooling and a 4090 FE could probably achieve similar temperature and noise performance, I have to say this demonstrates very strong hands-on skills, and the entire build is very well done.
Thank you! It’s very difficult for me to recommend replicating this type of build given the amount of time and effort I have into it. For someone looking to just get things up and running, air cooled is the way to go in this case. I want to eventually get into building pc’s for people. I still have a long way to go, but this was a good first step.
