Can you help me figure out how to fix the knife switch. My dont want to shut off and I don't know what happened. I switched it to be turned off and it stays on wanting to cut
I needed to change my blades and clean my machine and pulled up your instructions. They were great! I did it, and my machine runs and sounds so much better now!
Just what I needed today! I was just looking at my serger that a shop said it would cost $125 to replace the cutters. I said "NO THANK YOU, I"LL TAKE IT BACK HOME"! Thanks Ny, we LOVE you!
I was at Joann's once looking at sergers and an elderly lady came in w her serger (just basic) and asked the clerk to thread the needles for her bc she had arthritis and vision problems. The clerk said the charge would be $87.00 (this was very long ago!). After I picked myself up off the floor, I told her I would thread the needles for her wo charge as I had a serger like hers and knew how to do it. The clerk then said, oh never mind I'll just do it for you. I'm not against ppl making money, even a ton of money, but don't be ripping off nice old ladies or disabled ppl to do it.😡
Oh girl, you literally had me in stitches (pardon my pun) while I got 100% good direction regarding the dreaded changing of the blades act. OMG I'm so much less fearful now. Thank you thank you. You're my kinda gal, and I'll say right now that if I get my baby girl serger up and running with new knives, I'll buy you a drink. (Hope you live close) -- haha thank you for your well placed levity and your incredible skills as a sewing machine mechanic teacher. Rock on... And that's what SHE said!
The absolute best instructions and instructor. The lighting is great, and the video is shot at perfect angles to see what she's doing. The directions are clear and she's very organized. Thank you Ny..I'm an avid fan !
Thank you for this amazing video! I was so nervous to change my blades, but did so successfully with your help. My machine is now clean, has fresh blades and sounds fantastic! Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Very helpful and funny to watch :). I don't know whether I'll just use my serger to sew seams and have the knife disengaged all the time...just so I don't have to replace the knife blades...I'm THAT lazy lol. I don't know if it makes much difference using the knife or not - I need to experiment - but I now feel more confident in knowing how to replace the blades after watching your video - thank you x
What an example! We know we should clean/oil our machines at least between each project. Depending on the material and thread I am using…well, keep a one inch real bristle paint brush or a stiff stencil brush handy and keep it clean as you go. The ‘fuzz’ builds quick! Great video!
Falanaaaaaaa! i love coming back every week and seeing your comments. You are always so kind with your replies. I can’t wait for you to get your serger one day, but remember you can make MAGIC on your sewing machine too XO
Perfect timing! Thank you for this! I’m less intimidated by this task and can’t wait to think of more “that’s what she said” references while I do it 😂
My serger is still wrapped in bubble wrap since it came back after the fire cleanup but one of these days (months/years) I'm going to get it out and read the manual again...
Thanks for the help. I'm very mechanically inclined but I'm timid about taking things apart. I can usually repair them but what will happen if I start removing acrews?😲
Thank you for your video! I'm on a very tight budget, and i don't have a service shop that can service it. Can I do it all at home or do I just not buy a serger? And can I use regular sewing machine needles in a serger?
Hello my overlock machine form chain when I put clothe under the foot but no chain forms without clothe when I finish . Do you know the reason why it happens
Hello, anyone have experience with the top knife disconnecting for no reason? I have cleaned the machine as per the video and found this loose piece although I imagined it because it something that keeps happening with a lot of frequency and tired of spending time and money for this repair. I can't see where it has fallen from, can anyone help me. It is the piece that has a hook on top and a small hole for a screw or something at the bottom. Thanks

I have that model of serger and I really appreciate this info. Thank you.
Right on!
Thank you! I changed the knives once ages ago but never took the plastic piece off. Now that I know how to do it, I can really clean in there.
Yes, I mean did you see all of those dust bunnies in there? I’m still ashamed!!

Thank you! My serger was waaaay dirtier than yours! Sounds like it did when it was new.
My serger is still wrapped in bubble wrap since it came back after the fire cleanup but one of these days (months/years) I'm going to get it out and read the manual again...
Yes!
Thanks for the help. I'm very mechanically inclined but I'm timid about taking things apart. I can usually repair them but what will happen if I start removing acrews?😲
Thank you for this informative video! Do you know if it will be the same for the 1034dx?
It should
Thank you❤
Thank you! Do you know where to order blades for the brother serger 1634dx? Having no luck locating them. Thank you.
Thank you for your video! I'm on a very tight budget, and i don't have a service shop that can service it. Can I do it all at home or do I just not buy a serger? And can I use regular sewing machine needles in a serger?
What kind of liquid wrench do you use? The penetrating oil or lubricating oil?
Thanks for making this! This is on my to do list and I'm still working up the nerve:). Is it the same for the 1034dx? Thx!!
I have learned that the two machines are very similar. It should be also very similar to change the knives.
I am considering on buying this machine, I am new to the serger world, how do you like this machine now that you have used it for maybe 3 years now
Thanks so much my serger purss like a kitten
julia Lawrence, I am so glad it helped! Happy Sewing!
Hello my overlock machine form chain when I put clothe under the foot but no chain forms without clothe when I finish . Do you know the reason why it happens
Hi it says u were spraying something on it what was it that u use to spray it with? Was it just water or oil?
Haven’t you fitted one of the replacement knives the wrong way round?…
👌👍🧡💛💚💙💜❤️
Shahida, thank you so much for watching! xo
