Yeah I’ve heard that male parrots cannot fertilize the females eggs. But females can lay their eggs and have them fertilized by other fish. I know people that have had their female successfully breed with a male Midas and I’ve heard of others too.

Ive always wondered about that. I used to have those parrots years ago and they would often display like that with no results but i thought they were either both males or females. No eggs were ever laid. Good luck! Hopefully we can learn something 👍

As mentioned already the male Blood Parrots are infertile but not the females (which really makes one wonder how there can be so many of them produced for the pet trade) and there will always be people claiming that they have or have had a fertile male BP but they always fail to provide any photos or videos of it... 🙄

So fertility is a roll of the dice genetically with blood parrots?

:) I am not inclined to do that. If t happens as is, I'll be glad to observe and learn. I have no time to breed parrots and even less of a desire - I am not a fan of manmade animals.
I red that the chance of the eggs hatching are quite low as MOST male parrot fish are infertile. I guess that means not ALL are.

Are the white spots on the female parrots side and tale a disease like ick or just a minor injury? The one submitting to the male?
These are minor scale injuries, as you can see she is challenging both the male and the other females. Plus she is 18yo, so the age also shows a bit.
