    The small pike cichlid you were asking about is Crenicichla sp belly crawler. Usually just sold as belly crawler pikes. They are a smaller species. Will stay in like the 7” range.

    Aquascape ponds put in a fabric rock guard on top of the rubber liner, and it will prevent turtles from biting through the liner, so it would probably work with catfish spines as well. I guess you would have to empty the 25k if you wanted to put something like that in, though.

    • @Fish-Story
      @Fish-Story  6 месяцев назад

      Never heard of it, thank you, will look up this fabric rock guard!

    • @Fish-Story

      Gregg advised to look into Universal Rock.

    I think the 25k gallon is perfect, I don’t think the small fish will be attacked or eaten unless someone gets SUPER hungry! ❤❤❤

    the small pike i think is this (i had one a few years back, stay pretty small compared to most Pikes) - Belly Crawler Pike Cichlid Crenicichla punctata

    I've been doing the fan chiller method for some time now. Thermostat with a strong floor fan mounted up above the water. Keeps it at 81 when it could be 86 without the fan running but u will have alot of evaporation to deal with as well. Drip system is a great way ro mitigate that.

      Great! We do the exact same thing here too and see the same 5F drop. I love the consistency.

      @@Fish-Story I stepped into publicity by appearing in a local newspaper with my animals.
      As a tenant I knew there might be problems.
      But I pay my rent, am sweet to my animals, sweet to my house, and sweet to my neighbours.
      I have an advocate now, and love and enjoy every second with my animals.
      Today is a good day.

    • @Fish-Story
      @Fish-Story  6 месяцев назад +1

      If his tank is proper size and you feed him adequate amount, this must be due to genetics. Deformed fish can be expected to grow smaller and slower and live shorter, the severity varies wildly.
