I really enjoy how you let the guests explain their passion and their tanks and you just ask a few questions in between. Best fish room tours on RUclips!
Hi KeepingFishSimple, I have enjoyed watching each of your videos. Needless to say, I am interested in fish keeping and aquariums. However, the pleasant and quiet enthusiasm that you insert into your videos is both enjoyable and instructive. Thank you for your efforts and presentation.
I bought some "green Cory's" from PetSmart. I bought seven of them. They spawned and over 80% of the eggs hatched and over 90% of the ones that hatched lived. They would spawn in the 29 gallon they lived in. I've been moved the adults out and into a different tank where they wouldn't disturb the eggs or the small babies after a couple weeks I would move the adults back in. I think the eggs really benefited from the water movement aeration and beneficial bacteria in the established tank.
what a great guest on your video.i love your channel, its great seeing QLD/AUS videos that i can really relate with. i love his fishroom, very knowledgeable and successful breeder and a great video. I lived at Yeerongpilly myself and was a keen hobbiest. I kept and bred c.sterbai and c.panda as well as the albino and standard aeneus corys as well as standard bristlenose and peppermint bristlenose and had a few co2 planted aquariums and loved every minute of it. it can be such a rewarding hobby. since i have found your channel i have the itch to get back into the hobby again. when i moved about 10 years ago i stopped the aquariums but i am in the process of moving again and hopefully i can keep small cory tanks and a planted co2 tank or 2. there are so many more corys available now im scared i will end up with 40 tanks haha
Man is living the dream. And yes it’s difficult to keep tanks cool up here. I’m in Innisfail just south of cairns. During the hot periods of the year the aircon stays on just to stop the tanks over heating.
Another great fishroom tour nick, this fishroom has alot of absolutely beautiful Corydoras! I love all the setups and the way it's all been set out. Thanks for sharing mate 😊
I came to this video because I have a tank of bronze emerald corys, but one of them is yellow! I was very surprised because it looked the same as the rest of them but as it grew bigger its color was very set apart. I didn’t know if that just happens sometimes or if maybe I was given a different cory on accident, but it’s very pretty! It doesn’t look like a sunburst cory but a bronze cory that is yellow-orange instead of the typical coloring
I would be in Paradise here. So far I have had Bronze/Green, Salt N Pepper, Panda, Albino and most recently a Dwarf Cory. They are like littlr puppies and are the life of the tank.
Interested in what he’s feeding his cory’s can’t make it out on the vid, looks like a vitalis tub but the food is a yellow colour I didn’t think vitalis was ?
Just a question . When you breed fishes on boxes or things like that is the water heated or do you use like the indoor thermostate to keep the water hot?
Every time my Corydoras Nanus lay eggs, planaria, snails and Amano shrimp eat them. :-/ Some cories can be easy to spawn (simple water change is enough in case of C. Nanus), but the tank needs certain conditions for anything to survive. They are still fun to watch, small, but bigger than Pygmei, Habrosus and Hastatus. Nevertheless that fish room looks great, esp. considering the availability of fish in Australia. True, in Europe it's possible to get almost any fish, although with some fish one needs to ask around. There are always some gems which aren't common in LFS.
Hello, I have seen your videos on RUclips and I was fascinated with the techniques, I am currently trying to breed neon tetra, I am on my 5th attempt, I have not been successful. Today I will try it again and I think this attempt will be the definitive one since this morning I noticed my tetras very active and I could swear that they were courting each other, I also got 40ppm soft water. The water in my fish tank is somewhat exceeding tds since I had a problem with parasites and fungus for not quarantining a ramirezi that I recently acquired and they recommended me to add halite salt and increase my tds from 127 to 700 ppm, I know this is counterintuitive but it worked very well, my fish are free of ich and fungus, I notice them very active and healthy, now I will progressively lower my tds to return to normal. now for me 5th try I will use water with a tds of 40 ppm, it is the lightest water I could find, I added 4 cattapa leaves in 8 L, I am going to place the mesh that you mention and since I do not have java moss I plan to use green yarn. My question is, if the changes in hardness and temperature could negatively affect spawning or something worse, I share the parameters of both containers ∆parameters of the community aquarium. pH 6.8 tds 700 ppm (salt addition) temperature 29°C capacity 210L ∆parameters of the spawning tank. pH 5.7 tds 40 ppm (osmosis water) temperature 21°C 8L capacity The only thing that worries me is if the tetras could suffer some thermal shock due to that drop of 8°C, but I suppose in or in nature this happens in heavy rains. I would like to know your point of view, what do you recommend me to do?
Hi Nick. I am from Malaysia. I have one question here. I do tried to breed betta fish in 3 tubs like you. My question is i can put all fry from 3 tubs together in one container to breed? I couldnt find any answer on the internet. 3 tubs of fry together is it possible with different sets of betta parents? Pls advise me. Thanks
Hi there! I have a small school of adolfoi corydoras. They are displaying breeding behaviour. The female is quite plump. She has gone into the T-pose a couple of times, but does not drop eggs and now seems not to want to go into T-pose although the males are fluttering and doing their best to entice her. What does this signify please? I have done the temp drop water changes with the incoming cold fronts and am feeding live foods. Could there be something wrong or do I just need to be patient? I really want to grow the school.
@@CanadianCorydorasCatfish the blood worms definitely help they spawn more often in my experience. I know they’re the easiest to spawn but, I started with 2 of each of the basic Cory’s (peppered, bronze and albino) lost the female pepper but the others just paired up. The bronze Cory’s spawn at will my pleco doesn’t mind but . I only save some when I need more for another tank.
@robrob5081 you should keep them in groups of 6 of the same species atleast, but I guess if their happy, lol usually people do research before they get pets but as someone who works with drug addicts I can understand impulse is hard to control.
I've always had them sit in a community tank so there was always some food around anyways but I haven't noticed the male leaving the cave in order to get a snack. Could have been because of the other fish that were around or he simply was buddy protecting the fry

Well cleaned water in tanks 👏🏻
I started watching your vids about 1 month ago and I can’t stop
It’s been like 2 or 3 months now
Oh, cool, a Dutchman! Me too and my daughter is in Australia at the moment, weird connection.

Great video! and beautiful fish room, it's amazing how he has fit all that into that room and it still looks really good, it's a credit to him.

Omg finally another tour ❤
But wish they tell how to breed or tips 😂
Usually just use warmer water during a water change and that will do the trick.

Hi, love the corries, watching this as my orange Venezuelan corries spawn behind me!
Duuuude! This guy and I have so similar tastes in fish! I wish I could go visit!
What's the green one at 2:00? I can't quite catch the name through the accent.
Corydoras concolor
I think it is Corydoras concolor or Slate Cory. They do look green in this light!
I especially love your fish room videos!
My sister has 6 fully functioning tanks. She is right into it.
I currently have a little emerald green cory, i want to get him a buddy but he was last of the batch left so im waiting till they restock.
Greetings from another Cairns fish guy!

Good stuff buddy 👍👍👍👍👍
Good luck ! Make sure the room can hold the tank weight and protect wooden floors from water damage

I only have 9 aquariums but I have a different breed of Cory’s in each one
❤️
Didn't think there was 42 different corys
I think there is a lot more just not all are available in Australia.
I thought there was 56
160 species know to man.
I have 6 and I have sand,but they don't want to breed😢
Get 12 and feed them only blood worms
Light some candles and play some Marvin Gaye, usually gets the job done.

Hello
@@fishpishdog Hi
Day 2 of asking if u need to feed my male bristlenose pleco and the fry while he keeps them in the cave with him
yes

Yeah you do you just drop food near cave and he should come out and eat
@@_blaubeerdrache_5494 yeah bc he is supposed to keep them in the cave
@@CROXYS_fish_and_breeding idk bc he is supposed to keep the fry in the cave

Bottom feeding dog's
They're not catfish, they're carp. Catfish don't have scales.
Hi. Love your channel. But i don’t get why you use all these fancy names. Use the right name. That will help normal people not mixing them up
Just go to Google and look up the common names.
