Corydoras are such beautiful fish! I just had to rehome mine because I moved recently but they went to a big new home and they make any tank just so beautiful. The panda corys are my personal favorites
So glad I found your channel bro I feel I’m getting awesome info before diving into breeding certain species just like this Thanks for all you do for the hobby man 🤘🏼
Can't wait for my gold lasers to breed! Black worms are hard to come by right now so been having to use freeze dried tubifex worms or frozen bloodworms. Appreiciate you sharing mate!
I had 2 Bronze Corydora females in with my Gold Laser Colony... and woke up one morning to the Bronzes mating with the Gold lasers... that's when I found out they were both in the same family... and odly enough... the offspring ended up being Gold lasers... even t though it was a Bronze/Green Aneas Corydora and a Gold laser male cross. Very interesting to say the least. Female Bronze Corydoras... reproduce with a lot of food. So they are easy to breed. I call the offspring RUSTY Lasers. But they look like Gold Laser Corydoras... with a bit darker green to their body and a Deep Gold line.
@@Timzyzz The genetics look strong... they all got that solid Gold Line. Goldish yellow fins and underbelly... and a lighter green side color. They legit look cool. I wish I could start a new genetics... when these were fry... I kept 6 to see what I could get... 2 died... and 4 lived... I have 3 Males and 1 Female Rusty Laser Corydoras. The regular Anaeus females and the 4 Rusty's are all in their own tank now. I might throw my most colorful Gold Laser male in there to breed with the Rusty Female to strengthen the gold line and yellowish fins/underbelly. See what gen 2 looks like. Who knows... might end up calling them Busted Lasers by the end... Probably should document with photos. anyways glad you liked the post.
@@rickgrimezz3942 I've had my bronze breed with sterbai not intentionally and they produced what looks like a lil leapard, a single Cory which looked completely different from all mine on a rock one day during feeding time greeted me , no idea how it survived but I'm greatful haha
I got a little group of these beautiful corydoras this week and as always try to get as much information about them as I can :) Thank you so much for this very helpful and interesting video about their breeding. learned a lot!
I make use of an bankcard or some plastic card to get the eggs of the glass and back in the old days i used a coffecup/muk to put the eggs in with small airstone and some esa2000, and after that in an 5 liter fishtank with waterlevel just above the heater (if you let it lay on its side horizontale ) coz the fry can drown if the water level is to high in thise fase). Nice video again👌🏻 keep it up. Hello from Holland 👋🏻
I am new to your channel and find it to be the best on fish breeding overall, as you do not bore the viewer. If you ever have luck breeding any kind of Garra fish like Panda or even Rufa.. please ❤️ upload some kind of tutorial. These are my favorite fish as they remind me of loaches except they are more active and not shy. 👍🥂👍 Somehow I feel like I'm heading down the same road you're on. Cheers! 🥂
Hey mate I have started breeding shrimp but I have no clue how to get them to, watched videos and they all say different things, what do you do to trigger them to breed
I believe est way to help shrimp breed is leave them be of course keep them at all the right conditions but I believe the less changes in tank the better , also just make sure the shrimp you are trying to breed are not amanio shrimp as that's a whole different story which involved brackish tank for the eggs .. that makes things alot more complicated lol
I recently had a batch of 25 peppered Cory's and it actually happened by mistake when moved all other fish to a new planted tank and then discovered ( just before draining ) about 3 days later there was fry swimming about , amazing lil things . Now hoping in time my orange venasalian breed in my tank when a lil older lol
So I’m on my third batch of gold lasers and learning a lot. I’m in the UK so I have to put a heater in the tank with them!! The lesson learnt this time, don’t leave the heater on the bottom of the aquarium 😢
You may have mentioned in video but maybe I've missed it, what are the plants at the top of the tank where the corys were dropping eggs upon the leaves?
Hello! Could you teach us how to hatch live food like daphnia or brine shrimps. I’m trying to get my foot into the live food thing but I don’t know where to start. I really appreciate it!
Try it and report back please. I think we’re trying to mimic the rainy season: fresh cool water, low ppm coming in suddenly. I was lucky (by being lazy) to get my Corys to spawn. Hadn’t done a water change in 3 months in my heavily planted 200L community tank. Finally did and got 3 spawns over 3 weeks. Same Cory’s had been there for almost 3 years without any romance.
Hello, seeking your advice. I have tried to breed my Venezuelan Corydoras 3 times so far, I can't seem to have them survive more than 7 days after hatching. Surprisingly I'm using the same breeder box as you, also doing methylene blue, a bubbler stone. After hatching (5 days) I remove the bad eggs, do a 60% water change and then connect the intake to main tank. I start feeding them after 2.5 days fry powder and trying to keep the breeder box as clean as possible. Are you keeping your breeder box clean while fry are in there? Video shows lots of debris. I'm thinking for attempt #4, I will use clean "virgin" water from a running empty tank and avoid any bad water parameters from coming in from my main tank. Keep up the great work, great videos. Continued success.
Great success on breeding Gold laser cory cat fish, Can you do a video on all species of fish that don't need a heater, cause my LFS says theres only a few, I'm positive there's more then a few species of fish that don't need heaters, plus what Pleco's don't need heater if there is any
I don’t have any success at making my julii cory breed. I have 11, in a 20 gallons, lot of hiding and plants. I am doing 50% water change with colder water that drop the temperature of 2 degres. I am giving blood worms 4-5h before the water change. I only have couple platys with them. I have them for a 1 year and half. Do you have any other tricks that i can try? I watch pretty much all your video and try to applied what you are saying. Thanks and continue the good work !!!
I'm learning a lot about corydora with you, my pandas even started laying eggs again after I saw a video of you with ice water, I wanted to know with you what kind of lamp and power do you use in your aquariums? I'm from Brazil and sorry for the English
Do you have any suggestions on preventing my corydoras paleatus from eating their own eggs? They live in a heavily planted tank on their own with just a handful of bristlenose fry. I had a spawn last week and immediately after the female placed her eggs on the glass she turned around and started munching on them. So frustrating!
Try painting the sides and back of the tank the same colour as the eggs, this way it will be harder for the adults to see and eat the eggs, although this may not always work it should prevent them from eating as many
Great video. My albino corys lay a ton of eggs after every water change, I just leave them (on the glass walls), but none ever hatch. Sooo, what am i not doing?
Amazing video! I've just came by your channel and really like your content. A week ago I have set up a 25 gallon tank which is cycling now. After the cycle I am going to try breeding Albino/Julii cory's and also Molly's! This video was really helpfull for me! Thank you😀
I might want to try something else.. I have a truckload of bronze corys now and I realized there might a 3rd component to the trigger : Besides temperature and food, it might also be air pressure related - the last time I had an unexpected spawn in my main tank was when a big thunderstorm came by my place - looked the meteorological data at the time and there was a very significant drop of pressure.. and we all know how fish are sensitive to atmospheric pressure ! So basically : - A big storm comes in (pressure drop) - Massive rainfall (Temp drop) - Food festival (due to the rain) I bought myself some utility buckets with airtight lids, and see if I can mount an air valve and a pressure gauge and try to validate that theory !
Those gold lasers look really nice. Thanks for sharing. We will be moving to a new apartment in about two months after which I hope to set up an aquarium. Long ago when I had aquariums, no one mentioned you should have multiple corys, so I had only one per tank. I don’t plan to breed them but do want them to feel comfortable. How many corys do you need for a colony?
The secrete to getting cory cats to breed is feeding them. They will detect the abundance amount of food and that means it's time to breed. As simple as that. I have used the chicken left over in the can from feeding my dog and that gets them to breed.
Please never end this series
I couldn’t agree more
Could not agree more!!
So true
Its not messy, its natural! The plants keep the water sustainable
My heater came unplugged and shocking, my panda corys loved the colder water, they laid eggs! I had 21 grow up. Love my panda corys!

I just had my first spawn from my albino Corys and I’m guarding those eggs like a paranoid parent omg I’m so excited 🐠
Keen to see part 2 of the new fish warehouse…love your work young fella 👌
I loved keeping Corys mine used to breeding like hell after a water change & the fish shops round me couldn’t get enough of them.

Love your content.. what was the final yield. You said you collected around 100 eggs?

Can you show some detail on the breeder box with the air uplift tube that’s a great idea
Hi there,
Great ep, great channel and content. The meth blue how/when did you remove it and after how long with eggs?
Can you use almond leaf instead of meth blue or is there no comparison thanks
So I’m on my third batch of gold lasers and learning a lot. I’m in the UK so I have to put a heater in the tank with them!!

Great video , I love the style of this tutorial and the results are awesome. Great luck with your next challenge and thanks for this⚡
hey nick i recommend making a mini pond for spring and you can put outside you can breed nearly anything
nice vid!
What sort of methylene blue do you use? and what percentage is the methyl. blue?
Thanx!
When you hook the breeder box back up to the tank do you just let the methalyne blue run into the main tank?
You may have mentioned in video but maybe I've missed it, what are the plants at the top of the tank where the corys were dropping eggs upon the leaves?

I bred my first bettas thanks to you!☺️
Well done Nick.
Thanks, Nick! Great stuff.
Do you think I can have Amano shrimp in a tank where I try breeding Corry’s?
What is your process of changing out the water with methylene blue with the water from the tank?
Does this work with all corydoras cause I have 4 peppered corydoras in my 40 gallon
should do. they may even have fry with no intervention. i saw a group of bronze cories constantly laying eggs in a dingy pet store tank
@@amazingaquaticsandexotics3030 oh hi
Would some ice work to help them spawn? I'd imagine it's less stressful than water changes
