    This is long awaited update about my Cory breeding project! Remember to click a like if you enjoyed to video ;)
    Breeding Corys was my new year resolution, and today I will show you if my Corydoras Trilineatus are breeding. Do we have Cory eggs and fry? What I did to trigger my Corys to breed? Watch and find out!

    Love ur video! I had problems with fungus with mine too, but I actually used a few cherry shrimp! They cleaned them and would only eat the bad eggs. I had a SIGNIFICANT increase on my hatch/survival rate. I harvest my eggs (mine lay on the glass) &I put the eggs in a ½gal tank w/a sponge filter &hung it on the inside of the breeder tank &used the h2o from that tank as well. This solved the fungus, temp, &h2o change difference. Then just add the shrimps. I must say it's adorable to watch the shrimp clean them like bouncing beach balls around lol feel free to reach out if u have any questions :) I remove the shrimp at the end of day 2 since I know exactly how long it takes to hatch. Hope this helps&I hope u give it a try! I had around 102 eggs hatch! I just leave the fry in that ½gal until they're big enough to go to a larger tank. &I only feed frozen baby brine shrimp &I have a very high success rate!
    I must say though, I absolutely love how u set up ur tanks!! What is the plant substrate that u put under the sand called? I am starting a new tank&was researching planting tanks &that's how I found ur videos! I subbed right away, looking forward to new videos! Keep up the good work! Best of Luck🤞🏻

    I’m so excited for you!! I just started breeding red sailfin corys and it’s so great watching the process. I haven’t tried the spawn mop yet. Mine have been breeding at the top of anubias leaves at the water surface. I also have been doing it in my main display tank so they to have a natural environment.
    Thanks so much for sharing your video!! 😄

    I have been waiting 🎉! Thank you! I am waiting for my Similis to breed my 10 gallon tank is very similar to your tank. Except I have a mystery snail as well in there. Also do you think you want to try an experiment? I heard ppl have kept neoCardinia shrimp with the eggs. They will eat all the fungus off the eggs and turn them as well. Maybe u can document it for us.

    Very good video. I've raised and bred many types of Cory Cats. I use a NET breeding box for my eggs and Fry. I attach the box very close to my HOB (Hang on the back) filter. Allowing the water to flow through the netting material. But not directly into the box. I have great success that way. It keeps the eggs clean and oxygenated. I have Julii Cory Cats now. Not quite adult, but looking to breed them soon. Thanks for your update!

      Thanks! Yes, I heard that people go for net box. It helps a lot because you don't have to be worried about water changes etc. I will experiment with a lot of different approaches :)

    Even though it's been a year since you've did this video out I'm glad I found it. Been trying to breed my Corey's but without much luck. Made a mistake of getting a all cotton mop and cutting it down. Cotton fiber all over in my tank had to change everything. Can I wait till the barometer drops and try it again.

    Triggering mine, I feed them frozen bloodworms once a day supplemented with some hikari pellets in the morning to fatten them up. I keep from doing water changes (check parameters often) so that i don’t “unnecessarily” trigger them. I have RO water that I use for water changes. With them, temperature doesn’t matter too much. New, clean, softer water… and increased flow will help a lot!

    • @thegoodthieves
      @thegoodthieves Год назад +1

      @@EricSolomon462 I had no intention of breeding them, noticed some eggs and tried collecting them to put in a hatchery but then the snails got in and ate them so I gave up. To my surprise about a month later I saw the first baby fish, then there were 10 babies so I upgraded from a 10 gallon to a 30 using the syphon to move the babies. The adults started laying eggs and again and the snails ate them. I raised the temperature from 72 to 78 and they stopped breeding so I'm inclined to suggest a lower temperature to breed them. I've got no more advice because I didn't intend to breed them so took little notice of the parameters other than temp. Best of luck
