    Im having an issue with my false juliis. I purchased some from 3 different stores & keep having same issue. About half turn very pale & die off within 1 day to 2 wks of purchase. Ive treated for several things to no avail. I read about self poisoning from stress & wonder if this is whats happening.
    It does not seem contagious as no other species were affected. Endlers, pygmys, glass cats, & otos.
    U seem well educated on corys & i wonder if u have experienced this ever or heard or this happening.
    My water parameters are on point. Temp is down at 75.
    I have plenty of plants & driftwood for cover & soft sand substrate for them to sift thru.
    If anyone has any advice im all ears & much appreciated ❤

    • @AdriansFishroom
      @AdriansFishroom  Месяц назад

      Hmmmm that does sound like a problem.
      I would suggest starting from scratch with a new tank just for the corridor as a species only tank and set it up as minimal and natural as possible, and see how that goes as a test case. Good luck with that, and on the bright side, my solution provides you with another tank. LOL
      You could try another species in your current tank like sterbais… tough little guys.

    How do you collect the Cory eggs off the gIass and plants in the tank? I tried a credit card which was ok, and my finger nail which worked better for me. My Venezuelan Red Sails spawned for the first time last week. I don’t think the eggs were fertile as they didn’t look it and I had none hatch. I had them in a breeder box in the tank with an air stone and tossed some moss in with the eggs. It was the first time so and they surprised me as they spawned with just a small water change. I plan to try again as I would love to get a few babies. Do you spawn the Venezuelan Black Cory’s the same way? I have some of them in another tank that are getting up to breeding age. I haven’t tried to spawn them either. This is a great video. Your videos never disappoint. I don’t always get to watch them as soon as they come out, but I always do watch them eventually. Thank you!
    When you showed your crab, at first I thought it was a fake plastic crab. That crab is stunning. I love the purplish color.

    Hi Adrian.. awesome mate.. got a question: I bought a piece of wood and had it in soaking in a bucket of water for a few weeks, then boiled it and back into the bucket for another week. Thinking the tannins were all gone as the water in the bucket was clear I put it in my 4ft community tank.. Two days later the water went brown so I did a small water change and cleaned the wool sponges in my canister and internal filter. Today everything has gone brown including the canister hoses, white substrate and sponges again. I have now removed the wood and cleaned the canister and internal wool sponges again. Watching your video tonight I can see the aquarium is coming back to normal and clearing. What have I done wrong?

    • @AdriansFishroom
      @AdriansFishroom  Месяц назад +1

      Yeah, that does not sound fun. It could be the type of timber that you have would be my first guess, that might contain so much tanins and old sap that it will leak out for many months.
      I would take the opportunity to pull the tank down, replace the timber with something else and put that one outside in a bucket or tub for six months and let it do its thing.
      Alternatively, you could do 50% water changes twice a week for a month and I’m sure that would help, but only if you really attached to that specific bit of timber. otherwise take the easier path. Hope that helps.🙏❤️🐶🇦🇺💪🏻

    I've been struggling with getting my panda's and these fancy Emerald's breeding. My salt n peppers breed on the drop of a dime if I want. Have you ever tried taking water from a tank that has Cory's breeding n putting it in another to help trigger breeding? Was told it could help as the fish release pheromones into the water and it could trigger others to breed. 🤔🤷🏼‍♂️ Hello from Florida 🙋🏼‍♂️

    • @majorbruster5916
      @majorbruster5916 Месяц назад +3

      In theory, it should work, but be advised that pheromones have a very short half life, so you will have to act fast. It will also work better if you use water from a species that is in the same species group. Another technique that a friend of mine uses is to have a perforated divider separating the desired breeding group on one side, and on the other side, have a species that is easily induced. This is not a 100% guaranteed because some species require different triggers, and some don't breed until they are quite mature after a number of years. The presence of a strong flow also has a bearing on whether the fish will spawn or not.

    Where did you collect the green water?

    • @AdriansFishroom
      @AdriansFishroom  Месяц назад +1

      I might get myself by squeezing a sponge filter into a white bucket and then leaving it in the funniest position in the yard. Simple as that. A bonus is that I get mosquito larva in there as well.🙏❤️🐶🇦🇺💪🏻

    Hi do you condition your corys if so what food and how much thanks

    • @AdriansFishroom
      @AdriansFishroom  Месяц назад

      Yes, I do if I’m deliberately and specifically trying to read them, but they will often just do it whenever they are ready. I use live black worms and bug buffet and Aquaman gel Foods when I’m trying really hard. I also feed tons of baby Brian Shrimp to condition them that there is enough life food for their babies to eat and trigger them to spawn.
      I feed them twice per day morning and night again if I’m trying very hard otherwise once per day🙏❤️🐶🇦🇺💪🏻

    Corydoras need shallow tanks to gulp air ?? I breed corys by the hundreds in 400 mm deep tanks with the surface 95% covered in duck weed.

    do you need heaters?

    • @AdriansFishroom
      @AdriansFishroom  26 дней назад

      No, I don’t need heaters in all of my tanks, I have two 300 W heaters in each of my sumps and that’s enough heat the room usually. If I do need extra heat in the middle of winter, I have a diesel fired caravan heater installed for those really cold nights.🙏❤️🐶🇦🇺🦘

    I always wonder when you "youtubers" have so many tanks, so much feeding to do.. Have you planaria in some of your tanks? I really hate those worms, but I find it hard not to overfeed a tank :/

      @AdriansFishroom  Месяц назад +1

      Luckily no…. I don’t have any of that anywhere thankfully. I have had it upstairs when I had tanks up there but zero in the fishroom. 🤞❤️🙏💪🏻🐶🇦🇺

      @@AdriansFishroom It is my list under -Must! Nothing else, what I get under my hands ,,, no problemo, but, corydoras ... they just hate me. Recently I sold shoal (8 specimens) to a friend and they throw eggs 2 days after he put em in aquarium. I dont know how to explain that.

      Ha, not everyone is a dog lover I know, but I really appreciate your support and that you enjoy the fish part of my video. I won’t be offended if you fast forward through the dog bits, I just won’t tell Ziggy. Lol.🙏🐶🇦🇺💪🏻❤️😂
