I love how you broke down the different fish and explained why each one is special. It really helps for someone like me who's trying to decide what fish to get for my aquarium.
Gotta call out the Cory Cat disrespect! Many varieties and colors to pick from, perfect temperament and size, won't break the bank and very active in a group. At least "A" tier.
The best aquarium fish include Betta fish for their vibrant colors, Neon Tetras for their peaceful nature, and Guppies for their lively patterns. Angelfish add elegance, making them all popular choices for any tank.
I gained a lot from your insights on aquarium fish! The German Blue Rams caught my eye. They’re truly beautiful! Thank you for this helpful information!
Awesome list! Bettas have always been my go-to fish-so easy to care for and they really add a pop of color to any tank. Thanks for the recommendations!
Thank you 😊. I love Bettas. I always try to put them in any community tank if I can manage it. The fact that’s it’s usually warm here tends to help me since it’s harder for me to do a room temperature tank - though the algae issues can be 😆
I remember the first time I saw a "beginner fish" tier list, it really inspired me to try my own hand at something like that (an ongoing project for several years as I keep revamping it 😅) Can't wait to check out how yours looks!
Thanks for this awesome ranking of the best aquarium fish! Your insights and recommendations are super helpful for anyone looking to build a beautiful and thriving tank. The variety you showcased is great for all experience levels. Keep up the fantastic content!
Exceptional list. I love your vids. Hey, maybe, sometime, do one on Betta hendra. Few people may know of them (they’re an endangered species, but are being ethically bred now). Yet, they’re going to become the next big “thing”.
I can definitely do a video on them. I shy’ed away from the subject in the past because they were import only. I’ll need to look into the breeding side of things.
These species are perfect for many fishkeepers to add in their aquarium. German Blue Rams is the best one. The unique pattern and beautiful bright blue color on its body makes it a good option to own! Thank you so much for doing this video.
My 6 male congo tetras in a 75 gallon heavily planted tank with plenty of hiding spaces such as caves, under hangs and vision breaks, are anything but peaceful. They're always chasing each other and once in a while one gets jacked up and needs a spa day in the med tank. This is with them having 1 rummy noses for dither fish. 100 red cherry shrimp, some corys, kulis, and ottos.
I love nano fish in my 20long planted tank. I have green neon tetras, ember tetras and cardinal tetras (so much prettier than the regular neon tetras, in my opinion). It's so fun watching them school together, yet each variety still stand out.
Excellent information. Really I learned lot of new information about Aquarium Fishes 🐟. Really interesting and well explained. Tkx for sharing this information.
Really very nice and useful video, very easy and understandable to explain, thank you for your information and keep it up? I will be more attentive to your content, you have helped me a lot, thanks again.
Fun video. I have guppies, angels and pictus catfish together and they all get along well. Bristlenose can be great for any tank above 10 gal as they only get about 6in. Common plecos are the ones that get huge.
Awesome to hear. I love making the tierlist videos - so much different than what I see on the FishTube. I plan to make a lot more of them in the future
I would bump dwarf or as you call them "pea" puffers up to C. I've owned them, and they are ultra cute. They can nip, but they are so small the nips are negligible. It's like getting -1 damage on a Balrog. Give them some small snails to clear out, and they will happily busy themselves munching on them and clearing them out for you. They love to eat brine shrimp. Keep them fed well, and they will do good. They can be susceptible to disease, though.
Petition to swap Discus's tank with Ottocinculus "delicate diva" doesn't truly come close to describing how delicate the care discus need (tho they get a 10/10 in the looks department if you can give them the lives they deserve). Ottocincului are very fucking cute. Also, rummynose tetra's should be at the top, their use as an early warning system for water quality is often very useful if you accidentally take your eye off the ball! (Just don't make a habit of it)
to add my own opinion: pleco: Cool algae eater but shits a lot Neon tetra: Best looking small fish but never fails to do a slow countdown (in their population) angel fish: Hardy Budget discus for beginners Guppies: a crap ton of variation and a crap ton of fish fries in your tank. Oscars: will bully everything, including you Dwarf shrimp: Must have in all tanks as long as they're not the food. Bettas: he said it right, literally the main character in your aquarium glo fish: they look so fake they only look good in tanks with fake decors. Goldfish: EAT, POO, EAT, POO, EAT, POO
Dear sir your video is about fish aquarium, is next Level. You always give us great info and good ideas about aquarium Fish related topis.Iam Really greatfull to you, your videos alwys helps me. Keep up this good work man.
I could give Bettas an S with some of the breeds they have unless I separated them to short and long fin varieties. Guppies admittedly I’m biased - I’m not a fan of liverbearers 😅
Unfortunately neons have actually been overbred and become fragile... I considered them for my tank, but then preferred lambchop / espei rasboras to them. Having had both pearl gouramis and Congo tetras I 100% agree on both - Truly S-Tiers, albeit for Congos I'd suggest at least 60 gallons since they enjoy being in large schools and while slowly, they move continuously. I wouldn't even like them to be more popular, partly because of their need for large tanks which not everyone is willing to provide, and partly because every time a fish gets too "trendy" it eventually ends up like neons have... I also have red cherrys with the rasboras and they are an excellent addition to aquariums. They also breed easily, and it's nice to always discover cute baby shrimps of various different colors in the midst of vegetation.
@@AquariumStoreDepot It's not just the word... I unfortunately have had first-hand experience of mass mortality in neon tetras, and now I have switched to other species to avoid it.
I have a used a dirty 20 gal tank and want to clean it and disinfect it will be stripping inner silicone and redoing it after but would it be safe to clean it with bleach I will also after clean fill it up and put dechlorinater let set for few days than strip the silicone and reseal it let it dry want to also use silicone to put sand and rocks on background and build a tunnel and cave for shrimp
I gotta argue this man, otocinlus are the most underrated fish in the hobby. These fish are adorable little hard workers. Can literally be put in any size tank so they are very handy and versatile. The utility and the fact these guys are adorable is enough however put these guys in a group and they get even more active. Very effective and the best title for them is what the Chinese alage eater has. "Most hard working cleaner". These guys easily earn a spot on the A tier list. Oh yes and they can be with bettas too so there is a tankmate for them (trust it works). These are perfect for peaceful community tanks and even have a nice stripe which looks really nice to a tank. Now for the part where you said these guys die alot due to not having enough food that is not a proper argument. Literally all cleaner fish need food and wafers. It's on the fish ownee so it DOES NOT count.
@AquariumStoreDepot I see so you were just saying a PSA at the end. I see you didn't disagree though. They truly are A tier fish. I have been a happy owner of otocinlus for years now and learned more about them. They absolutely get more comfortable when they get in schools but you can keep one. I currently have 4 of them in a 55 gallon tank with Neon tetras and rummy nose with live plants. This hobby is amazing when you know what your doing. Otocinlus are still A tier man. No disrespect but they don't belong where you put them.
In my opinion the best fish are neon and cardinal tetras for their color betta fish for their personality and angelfish for their beauty and their elegance although they can be aggressive
my pearl gouramis actually murdered 2 of my angel fish and nipped the fins off my last one. made everyother fish territorial and stand offish for weeks even after removing them 2/10 do not recommend unless kept with other semi aggressive fish
I agree. MAKE CONGO TETRAS THE FASHION ICON OF THE FISH WORLD LIKE BRUH THEY ARE THE PRETTIEST FISH I HAVE EVER SEEN. They look so simple yet not simple like minimalist but over the top like hoooow
I'm surprised you think cardinals are better than neons. I like cardinals better, but I can't keep them alive while having little problem with neons. When I talked to my fish store owner about this he said that cardinals and rummy nosed tetras are the fish that seem to have the hardest time adjusting to new tanks.
It’s because neons tend to get neon tetra disease. I never had issues with rummies and think they are amazing fish. I don’t buy stock from local fish stores anymore since I have Rob at Flip Aquatics who sends me QT’ed fish which has taken away a lot of the stress of new additions. I do the same with saltwater from TSM or Divers Den. People don’t like me for getting fish online, but I generally don’t have good experience getting fish from the LFS outside of the time when I lived near fish row in LA.
Top 3 of my most favourite fish!?!: 1.Betta fish! Why?:they look like flowers and they only need 5-10 gallon, 2.Loaches fish. Why?:I love fish that help cleans the fish tank and when I see them like cleaning their so cute plus I love their colors!!! 3.Oscar fish? Why?:I love Oscar for their size and color specially the color black and yellow ones.
@AquariumStoreDepot omg I love. Koi. Im a beginner with this stuff and can't do it for a year or so but I would love to have beautiful koi and a lot of the fish you featured in this vid
Way better choice than a German blue. I could have made this video an hour lol g but than the tierlist looks overwhelming. I would say they are a C tier. They are still more delicate and have good looks. Better choice than a German Blue. Could make an argument for B tier for someone who has experience. Great community fish if placed in a larger tank.
I had 3 cory catfish and ended up having to put them in a different tank as they kept attacking my betta fish. The video states they are peaceful and for the most part they are but just keep an eye out on them.
Hello sir one of my favorite hobby in future is to breed marine fishes in aquarium. How to breed can you make a good video or present it. I like your video very much. I like to get a lot of information about new fish farming.
For the most, I don't nescessarily agree with everything, but it's fairly good information. But I reacted when Glofish was just lumped in as a monolith. There are several different spieces of Glofish, each with their own pros and cons, look into the individual spieces rather than the colour. This is almost as wrong as lumping in Ember Tetra, Asian Arowana and Goldfish as Redfish and give the same advice for their care and personality!
I feel red tail sharks and there cousins the rainbow shark are very misunderstood. There Asian minnows they need numbers, like a tiger barb. I hade 75 with 15 red tails, 10 rainbows , 4 Siamese algae eaters and a dozen golden shinners and they all school as a whole, never fought for space
No but rummy nose tetras can get fungus easily. It's the thing that even the fish breeders can't even control. The sad thing? They're somekind of having allergy to the malachite fish treatment.
I agreed with goldfish. These fish is a poop machine. Please do not kept goldfish in a small tank / bowl. They can be large in size (depends on the breed) & need a delicate care. Some breeder do water change everyday to maintain a stable water parameter
I would not have included appearance as a criteria for this. I would think a beginner would see a discus fish at the "B" ranking and think they could handle a "B" rated fish. The discus might be one of the most difficult, yet commercially available, aquarium fish to keep. They should be ranked lowest on a tier list of "BEST" aquarium fish to keep for so many reasons. In fact, every discuss owner will tell you that you have to WANT to KEEP a discus fish not just OWN discus fish.
Blood parrots? I'd say C tier. They have some additional considerations. However as a "monster" fish it would rank high because it's not super aggressive.

Angelfish are aggressive and end up killing almost all of their tank mates. Ive really only ever seen ciclids as successful tankmates with angelfish

Sucks to hear they are allergic to a medication too 😢
No honey gourami... :( I love those little guys
I had rainbow fish and had to get rid of them. They CAN be aggressive but I had good luck with Angel fish. go figure
Every gourami I have is mostly peaceful and but some days I see them nipping at other gouramis
Ive found cardinals to be really fragile
How about blue collar fish and leporinus fish
3:31 i had 2 female pearl gourami on a 110L aquarium and one female chased te other to death.
I wouldn’t keep a group of pearls unless the tank is 4 feet long. Centerpiece fish solo is fine at 40 gallons
Gave all positive comments, still ranked C 😅
Most accurate list of all time👍👍
I agreed with goldfish.
Kind of like how everyone wants a horse until it's time to shovel horse poop.
A tier in looks - D tier when it comes to needs. F tier for most breeds.
the kuhli loaches have been offended
WHAT?! DWARF SHRIMPS SHOULD'VE BEEN S TIER FOR ADDING DIFFERENT CREATURE VARIETY TO A TANK 😔
How about parrot fish
Blood parrots? I'd say C tier. They have some additional considerations. However as a "monster" fish it would rank high because it's not super aggressive.
@ Congo Tetras will they eat baby guppies ??
Yes they will
@@AquariumStoreDepot want to keep guppies but need a way to depopulate not all but as many as possible don't want adults to be ate just babies
@ oh gotcha. I’ve never mixed the two but congos aren’t known to be nippy
Paul caught a fade for nothing 😂
I got a lobster he’s dope
Nice!
I have 8 black tetras that have lived like 4 years already 💀
My beta lives with mystery snails
