I also update you on how the Malawi Cichlids ended up going with their gill flukes treatment. I hope you enjoy the video, and Happy New Year! I'm looking forward to seeing what 2024 has to hold :D

Hi Kaity, I'm so glad you're achieving your goals little by little and at a steady pace. I'm sure this year comes with lots of surprises. Your tanks look pretty good; this time my favorite one is the Tanganyika setup because of the little babies. Here in the southern hemisphere is the breeding time for many species, my cichlids are in the same process. I hope you had a nice New Year's Day with your loved ones. ¡Blessings and greetings from Peru🙌!!!

Happy New Year to you, the Tanganyikan tank is absolutely my favourite. I have a mixed tank myself which has some malawi along with Mbuna and Neolamprologus Brichardis. Seen some fry recently which i was suprised to see were not picked off so the parents must be doing something right. Its actually quite funny watching the little Brachardis bullying away the larger fish that come near.

Hi kaity,i would try and catch the babies out and raise them in your quarantine tank.or maybe you could try to put some javamos in that corner of your tank so the fry can hide in it.have a great year and good luck with all your plans, they sound great. I'm already looking forward to watch it all! Oh, and thank you for mentioning AB's Instagram last time!😊

Hi, the red/yellow tail one is called sardine cichlid. As some one already suggested should be kept in a group. If you out 3/4 females the male will start doing the breading ritual which is pretty cool to look at.
As for the babies, apart from the other fish you have clavus and compressiceps they are ruthless so you might get one or two babies survive if they are lucky.

    • @kangawallafox85

They are called Cyprichromis probably leptosoma variant best in large groups. They suffer from wasting desease he’s probably the last one out of a big group why she got given it

I love my Leleupi / Lemon Cichlid and seeing them have babies are great. And it is abit difficult for me to catch them in a net to move them in a grow out tank because they move so fast. And they are living in a 20 gallon / 75.7 liter tank. Hope your babies get a chance to survive with all your cichlids. Plus watching mine grow and seeing the color change is nice.

Looks to be about a 14x14” square, on the label it says in I’ll keep the fry in the tank and I’ll keep other fridge for eating them till they get to a good enough size, live your water boxa tanks its 😊 the Benzo of fish tanks. I've just changed my rainbowfish/turtle tank to a peacock tank ( turtle died😭 husband took the Rainbowfish) so I'm now a African Cichlid keeper, not sure how I feel about it yet lol. It's funny how u just get a feeling when the tank is your style. My husband had some Red Forrest jewels breed in a community tank. After the fry kept getting picked off a few times he used the syphon hose and sucked them into a bucket and transferred them into a small cycled tank. There ended up being about 15 that went to a local fish store.

Yay for African Cichlids!! 🐟 That's so true. I'm definitely a simplistic, fish focused, bright colour person. Whereas some people are totally more into the naturalistic styles. That's the best part about it though, you can really make it your own!!

Hi ! nice tanks you have there. Do you have any problems as for feeding ? since Frontosa are more proteins based and Tropheus all veggies ? cause I was going o buy 8 to 10 of them to add with my 3 Frontosa this week-end but I saw a few video who discourage to mix them because of that. Do you have any problems related to that and if you dont what are you feed them (community) ? Thank you for your video find them really helpful.

for the t-shirts, have some made in v necks for us women who can't stand to have something around their neck! seems as though all fishy people's t-shirt merchandise is crew necks, v necks are also cooler in the summer, and a little more flattering to wear. as far as your cichlids with the babies ... could you put a long piece of flexible plastic needlepoint point mesh at about a 1/4 of the tank to corral them away from the other fish?

  • @donivanstryker1340

Your best bet with the babies is to leave them in the tank. If you go about chasing the babies, the other fish will pick them off because they will scatter all over the tank and the parents won't be able to protect them. If the parents feel like they cannot protect the babies, they will stop breeding. Normally to breed Tanganyikan cichlids you usually have a dedicated tank to a certain species and within that tank they establish a sort of pecking order. You also would throw in a few dither fish to make it easier on the breeding adults to manage their young.
