Just let nature does it course! It is really nice to see the parents getting better and better into raising them. :)
Guppies and endlers do really well outside, especially in green water. The algae makes their colours pop
Hi Kaity, I'm so glad you're achieving your goals little by little and at a steady pace. I'm sure this year comes with lots of surprises. Your tanks look pretty good; this time my favorite one is the Tanganyika setup because of the little babies. Here in the southern hemisphere is the breeding time for many species, my cichlids are in the same process. I hope you had a nice New Year's Day with your loved ones. ¡Blessings and greetings from Peru🙌!!!
This tank is amazing 👏‼️Both of your tanks are great! 🐠 🐟 are stunning 🤩 love the variety and colors ‼️
I'm so impressed with how the Tropheus are coloring up. The entire tank looks amazing Kaity.
You have my favorite cichlid tanks on RUclips. The setup are is beautiful and just adds to the cichlids. One of my life goals.
Wow thank you so much!! That's such a lovely compliment 😊 I really appreciate it and I'm sure you will have something like this one day too if it's what you want!
Happy New Year to you, the Tanganyikan tank is absolutely my favourite. I have a mixed tank myself which has some malawi along with Mbuna and Neolamprologus Brichardis. Seen some fry recently which i was suprised to see were not picked off so the parents must be doing something right. Its actually quite funny watching the little Brachardis bullying away the larger fish that come near.
Hi kaity,i would try and catch the babies out and raise them in your quarantine tank.or maybe you could try to put some javamos in that corner of your tank so the fry can hide in it.have a great year and good luck with all your plans, they sound great. I'm already looking forward to watch it all! Oh, and thank you for mentioning AB's Instagram last time!😊
I love Neolamprologus tretocephalus! They have so much character. I love this Tanganyika tank : )
your tanks is so fantastic. love it
Hi Kaity,
I'm a big fan of your videos. You approach your hobby with such enthusiasm that it's contagious. Thank you for sharing your passion with the world!
I've learned a lot from watching your videos.
Keep up the great work!
Happy new year all people here
🎆
greatings from Germany ✌️
Wow thank you so so much!! I really appreciate it 😊 That's so kind of you 🙏🏼 Happy New Year to you too! 🎉 Here's to an awesome 2024
These tanks just look so simple and elegant great tanks!
Thank you heaps! 😊🙏🏼
Glad to hear that you are planning a trip to America. You should consider a trip to Houston, Texas and make sure to visit the Aquarium Design Group, That Aquarium Place and the Fish Gallery.
Your tanks look great! Congrats on your new babies!
Gorgeous setup, nice & cozy, lots of information, my favourite cichlids ❤❤❤❤
Hi, the red/yellow tail one is called sardine cichlid. As some one already suggested should be kept in a group. If you out 3/4 females the male will start doing the breading ritual which is pretty cool to look at.
As for the babies, apart from the other fish you have clavus and compressiceps they are ruthless so you might get one or two babies survive if they are lucky.
They are called Cyprichromis probably leptosoma variant best in large groups. They suffer from wasting desease he’s probably the last one out of a big group why she got given it
I love my Leleupi / Lemon Cichlid and seeing them have babies are great. And it is abit difficult for me to catch them in a net to move them in a grow out tank because they move so fast. And they are living in a 20 gallon / 75.7 liter tank. Hope your babies get a chance to survive with all your cichlids. Plus watching mine grow and seeing the color change is nice.
Happy new year with happy baby fishes🎉
Love the video, you mentioned going to see the legacy aquarium, did you see Brian’s goodbye video today. So heartbroken to hear he is in hospice care, such a beautiful man sure wish I could have met him.
Thank you!! Yes I saw it. It's so so sad, he is an incredible person. My thoughts and prayers are with him and his loved ones at the moment 🙏🏼
I absolutely love your tanks! What sand do you use?
I love everything about afs i been keepin them for about 12 yrs now im not tired of them i started w a mixed mbuna peas haps tank in 2012 in a 90 then i switched to just peas & haps in 2018 in the same 90 but recently i had to toss that 90 for a 110 cuz the brace cracked
Beautyfull tanks, i have a malawi one.thanks for your video!
Thank you heaps! I'm glad you enjoyed it 😊 and yayyy go Malawi Cichlids 🐟
Your 'Tret's' are doing great as are all the fish in that 'Tang' tank...It will be interesting to see if the tret's behaviour changes once they reach maturity as they can be a pain in the backside with others and each other once adult!
Yes it'll definitely be interesting to see how they go over time! Hopefully they stay nice but we will see 😂
Awesome tanks!
Thank you 😊🙏
tanks look awesome , the trophous are my fav
Both of your tanks look really great the fish are nice and healthy, I would leave the babies in the tank.
did you see the fry net I think its called, it looks like a bag made of a fine like screen material, so you can put over fry and leave them in tank. Looks to be about a 14x14” square, on the label it says in I’ll keep the fry in the tank and I’ll keep other fridge for eating them till they get to a good enough size, live your water boxa tanks its 😊 the Benzo of fish tanks. Come with Lorenzo, chilling in the benzo.
Love watching your videos 👍👍😊
Collab with Cichlid charmer & cichlid bros
Witam serdecznie dziękuję za pokazanie super piękne akwaria I rybki podziwiam pozdrawiam z dalekiej Polski miłego wieczoru życzę
Can’t wait for the mugs to come out I’ll buy the set. Will you be shipping to the United States and again I love your channel.
Hey Katie, beautiful tanks. Question: have you ever had bubbles come up from your deep sand substrate?
Thank you so much 🙏 I have! I have never had any issues from it though
Awesome video , what do you feed them ?
You need a fry tank I love your channel from South Carolina
Brian is now in a hospice.
Layla is wild! Lol. My mom wouldn't let me have a bird 😢 But at least she let me have an aquarium! 😊
I would love to see you collaborate with Father Fish!
Are you going to add some Synodontis Multipunctatus "cuckoo catfish " to the Tanganyikan tank Katie? They are Tanganyikan after all and would look cool
I've just changed my rainbowfish/turtle tank to a peacock tank ( turtle died😭 husband took the Rainbowfish) so I'm now a African Cichlid keeper, not sure how I feel about it yet lol. It's funny how u just get a feeling when the tank is your style. My husband had some Red Forrest jewels breed in a community tank. After the fry kept getting picked off a few times he used the syphon hose and sucked them into a bucket and transferred them into a small cycled tank. There ended up being about 15 that went to a local fish store.
Yay for African Cichlids!! 🐟 That's so true. I'm definitely a simplistic, fish focused, bright colour person. Whereas some people are totally more into the naturalistic styles. That's the best part about it though, you can really make it your own!!
Just net a half dozen or so and raise them up in a breeder box! Its fun and not super hard. Just feed em good and watch them grow.
nice
Love your channel
I will remove them out , or when you have an idea when they got fry then remover the parents and then you can add them again definitely try to save them why not . I love the shirts 👚 and I will buy one as well . Keep up the good work tanks are doing well and I will definitely do a pond
Whats lights and bracket are being used on the tank with the white base? Thanks, great video!! Also, where do you find that bracket for those lights?
Hi ! nice tanks you have there. Do you have any problems as for feeding ? since Frontosa are more proteins based and Tropheus all veggies ? cause I was going o buy 8 to 10 of them to add with my 3 Frontosa this week-end but I saw a few video who discourage to mix them because of that. Do you have any problems related to that and if you dont what are you feed them (community) ? Thank you for your video find them really helpful.
would really like to see you do a video with Ben Ochart.........
👍
for the t-shirts, have some made in v necks for us women who can't stand to have something around their neck! seems as though all fishy people's t-shirt merchandise is crew necks, v necks are also cooler in the summer, and a little more flattering to wear. as far as your cichlids with the babies ... could you put a long piece of flexible plastic needlepoint point mesh at about a 1/4 of the tank to corral them away from the other fish?
What size is the fish tank on your right, Kaity's???
They're both the same size! So 6x2x2ft 😊 Both Waterbox 7225's, but the one with the black cabinet is a Clearpro and the one with the white tank is the Peninsula
@@Kaityscichlids ok thanks Kaity's 😊
Your aquariums are very great looking. I was curious what your water parameters are in each tank. Could you share? Or, if you have a video about it, please share it. Thanks
Arkadaşım çok güzel olmuş nazar değmesin
Hi Caity. What kind of tank is your white one?
Your best bet with the babies is to leave them in the tank. If you go about chasing the babies, the other fish will pick them off because they will scatter all over the tank and the parents won't be able to protect them. If the parents feel like they cannot protect the babies, they will stop breeding. Normally to breed Tanganyikan cichlids you usually have a dedicated tank to a certain species and within that tank they establish a sort of pecking order. You also would throw in a few dither fish to make it easier on the breeding adults to manage their young.
maybe target feed them so they grow faster or just pull the fry out. nice merch
That would be cool to try! Thank you 😊
How do you clean the Tank it's very huge
Take the babies out and raise them up and do trade-in for more fish or for food. ❤
Hi Kaity, i was wondering which tropheus are the orange ones? I have one but don't know its official name! Also, I have a very similar set up with mixed tang cichlids including three tropheus. I try to feed a algae based diet so to avoid bloat. I was wondering what you feed your tank so that the more carniverous tangs also get adequate nutrition?
Are there mini-cameras that can be incorporated into the tank in prospective nesting areas?
Just keep them in this tank until they get the size of the others. Don't mix them before not for any other reason but because in one week the little ones will loose their colours! Except the mbunas.
aw kaity i love your baby ciclids and new merch ideas! I think i collab with @paulcuffaro and a fishing trip with @finatic would be cool
hii kaity..my name is ade and i wanna ask you. Is it difficult to pet/keep cichlid? i never had cichlid before..thanks kaity
What was the best food cfishes love's
Do any synodontis species work in a Malawi or Tanganyika? Like S. multipunctatus?
Any interest in adding anything other than cichlids?
Great channel. How about going to Ohio Fish Rescue they have a 20ft Cichlid tank
What is the size of your tanganykin tank?
It's 6x2x2ft 😊 it's a Waterbox 7225
13:03 shubunkin in a wine barrel.
They have videos of you working out at the gym.:D
Mbuna breed like bunnies!!
These damn Cichlids are such pricks at times, I once found one buried in its hiding pot... its tank "mates" had decided to completely cover the hiding spot with sand!
You can just suck them up with a siphon, I always had little babies in my pre-filter so it was very easy to get them out :D
0:27
Jaguars
I want to buy your baby cichlids!!
Collaborate with Paul caffaro 👍👍
You're so cute today.) Where's the dragon? Would you like to visit Russia? It's -20 degrees below zero right now! I would like to visit Australia during the winter.
Cant just have 1 sardine cichlid
Please stop the music in the background.
Just leave the fry. Some will live and Some will die
1:55 Girls love it thick (with tanks too apparently 😂)….
U should bread them and make some money.
Division into biotopes is not enough
Herbivores and carnivores should not be kept in the same tank. The video is only misleading 🤷
nice
Try reaching out to Cichlid Bros for collaboration
How’s water is so clear , pls tell me what filer you using
You probably could go to Utica Michigan and collab with Lori and Norah and Jake Brian's wife and sons and big Jake will probably video unfortunately Brian Barcyzk passed away from his fight with cancer he will be missed
Hi kaity u r doing very awesome....i love cichlids,,love from pakistan....
The darker rocks Look good on the light colored sand. Any plans to add julidochromis? They'd look good sneaking in and out of them rocks
Hi kaity, I am loving your videos. Thank you for posting great videos. It would be great if you can collaborate with " CICHLIDS BROS". I think I it would be great content.
If, and when you come back to America. I would say try to. collaborate with aquarium co-op. I’ve been following them for years.
Yes you should let them bread. Put a pile of Egg siced Stones in a corner.
So you get some very smal holes. Then it will be no Problem. And if your Leleupii will btread you will not see the Male outside his "House". Short for feeding but normaly they" stay at Home" for 2 Weeks. At least my 3 Pairs reacted this way over the years.
I don’t know how you keep Tropheus in a community African tank from getting bloat. What do you feed tank?
Hi love your channel I'm from United Kingdom. I think you shod come to England and visit md fish tank he has an awesome channel that I've learnt so much. I think you should try and get hold of him and come to are country it would be amazing to see you on is channel.
How is your aquarium water is so clear....Plz tell me 😢
I have 3 babies in an all male tank... Go figure! The big ones don't bother them.
You enjoying your tang tank more than your other tank now?
Great setup. What's the name of the blue ones who have babies?
Can you create a little private section for the babies in the tank so they can grow in that tank?
I think you try to raise some fry as a hobbyist it'll be a great project
Should try to spot feed the fry some baby brine shrimp?
Get some feeder goldfish and do a pond. That’s what I have done
Hi kaity I have a question...what kind of sand do you use?
