Make Stonehenge Into a 5-Star City Park in Cities: Skylines

- We salvaged a Stonehenge replica and built a beautiful 5-Star City Park in the town square in Reddington-a Cities: Skylines series loosely modeled off of cities in the Southeastern United States on the fringes of the Appalachian Mountains. We will build with mods in this series, to give our console players something to aspire to! 😉
This city starts out fresh on the Green Plains map, which comes with the base version of Cities: Skylines. Rather than being a planned and platted city, Reddington begins with just a town square and branches out on this verdant peninsula from there!

With the Move It! mod, when you clone the rose hedges and trees, you can right-click twice to rotate exactly 90 degrees (each right click rotates your selection 45 degrees.) With the manual rotation you did, you're bound to get some of those rose hedges encroaching on the fence.
Yup...that would definitely have helped!
I love Lee's videos, very informative never knew fencing added entertainment?!?
I have tutorial all about parks! ruclips.net/video/RFdvJj4DEBs/видео.html
I know, right? When is saw that, I started to use fences in my parks. Thank you Lee!
Great episode with some superb insights, again! A nice compact and beautifully made park. Who knew rose bushes and fences added such value? Keep up the amazing work Lee. Your content is absolutely superb. Interesting and well-crafted from start-to-finish.
Thank you! I'm so glad you learned and enjoyed!
Page-turning series, for sure. Thanks, Lee!
I'm so glad you like it so far!
You could write a book hehe
@@danthiel8623 maybe I'll just make a movie hahaha!
Gotta love land value. Great park.
Thank God you got that little stretch of road next to the elementary school. My OCD was kicking in hard. :P
Oh believe me, that would NOT have happened intentionally!
Glad I found out about your channel from 5B1C. I'm loving all your videos I've watched so far.
Keep up the good work and thanks for the entertainment!
There is a mod to place props in a row on the workshop... it's called Prop Line Tool, and would help for things like your planters along the fence and it even has a circle mode.
Yeah...I use that all the time, but I forget when I have it available when I get used to playing vanilla so long when I'm recording MMLT vids :-/ By the time I edited this video that exact thought crossed my mind...and it would have been so much more impressive! lol Thanks!
Good one Lee! Everytime I thought something you did it..that is satisfying
Great minds think alike!
Thanks for the entertainment ^^
Good job Lee.
Thank you! You like? 😁
I think that intersection in the industrial area could do with a 4-way stop or traffic light.
The uk will love you forever for this thank you
What what? What did I do?? 😀 OHHH you mean Stonehenge?! Well the UK is alright I guess 😊
From the "reduce walking time" optimization, having the gates directly at the corners and in the centers of each side (where the crosswalks are) would likely a bit better, as pedestrians then don't need to walk first on the sidewalk. But as built here it looks a bit nicer, and still works, because pedestrians' calculations use a higher speed for paths compared to sidewalks for their pathfinding.
For improving roads: The roads with grass or trees have a bigger effect than the plain old paved roads, I think.
For the farm industry not getting enough workers: Maybe you can add a bus line to get people there easier?
For some reason C:S players tend to pick very chill music. Is it a personality thing? There's a lot of free-to-use post-rock, ambient, and jazz breaks going around. I love the content, obviously, I just can't help but notice the music.
It's just a matter of taste for me. I like to mix it up, but lately I've been going with a more chill vibe. When I start building freeways and I get away from the country roads and farms and parks, you'll start hearing some different styles.
Hi I'm Leeeeeee
Truly iconic ❤️
😂
It's getting hammier as time goes on. Love it
It's friendly and cheerful! I like it!
Yup, I love it! Lee's pic is so "formal" yet the "I'm Leeeee!!" is anything but! :-)
I was waiting for this! ;D
I'm glad you didn't have to wait long!
Nice
Thanks!
looking like the west coast of the usa near where you started building into the countryside
lol
Wow.
Also when rotating copied objects. You can lightly tap right click and It will rotate it 45°
I have a sugestion for the park name: "Stone Ranch"
Hi Lee, I just had a thought while watching this video. I know part or the theme for this town is building with the land, but optimally, you wouldn't want to have agriculture uphill from residential where possible, right? Run off and such from livestock and other stuff.
It's not likely it would make it so far downhill at this point...but IRL I don't think they gave this any thought at all. They might now...but back in the day farming wasn't so industrial, and the runoff issues were way easier to deal with.
@@LeeHawkinsPhoto and where I grew up at the very southern tip of Appalachia, everyone always said the old timers knew things grew better on the high ground. To the point they would go to extraordinary measures removing big rocks from the hills to plant crops there
Maybe that's how those rocks made it down to your lower lying park
If you make the park free, your visitors would pile up faster. Then...start charging once you are level 5
I suppose you could do that! But then by Level 5 I don't need the money :-D
Love the vid, When is the next video of More money Less traffic s2 out? thanks
July...hopefully shortly after my week of #5B1C
@@LeeHawkinsPhoto Awesome. Loving that series ; )
Continue the series🙏🙏🙏
what r u going to do if you need to upgrade some streets to avenues? specially with the stonehenge park
That is a goooood question.... 😀 ...and it will be answered 😉
If you right click while holding the move it duplicated object it moves on 45* angles.
Yup...that definitely would have saved some time lol

We wait for a new episode. Fixing the traffic
Oh I’ll fix the traffic alright...but you guys are probably gonna think I’m crazy... 🤪
I wish you took care of that red spot in this episode
Red spot?
@30:10
@@dondiezel ahhhh...yes...well red spots happen from time to time...I doubt that one in particular will be all that bad after my next episode or two... 😉
We're going build park that's the most park.
Then we can make money that's the most money!
I guess the reason the roads didn't really help on the land value is that they can now go faster and thereby making more noise
Using the 2-lane road with tress in the middle helps reduce the noise and the residents like it better. The standard paved 2-lane road doesn't have much effect on land value. Though they are more expensive to maintain so you don't typically upgrade to them until later (though in this city, there is quite a bit of profit to be used).
Restrooms please!
Try the cafe 😉
Lee the ultimate c:s guru!
😊
Does Stonehenge gives any entertainment?
You know...I _believe_ that since those rocks count as props, they _do_ contribute a few points towards entertainment.
I just want to know one thing, did youadd the floodlights like in 5B1C?
You’ll have to wait and see 😁
Lee! I would like to work with you on your youtube business! How can I get I touch with you?
You can find my email on the About page on my channel...
when will the more money less traffic episode 7?
Nobody who lives anywhere near Stonehenge likes it. Firstly you need a busy motorway next to it! Secondly you have to reduce the speed on said highway to imitate the traffic that build up around it.
They just need a good traffic fix 😉
Plus you should know about this...
