@@ultimatestuff7111 Hey Ultimate stuff, I do find Charisma to help me out in the wasteland. Some of the early speech checks that I do are really only easier due to the Charisma. Trush be told, you don't need a high Charisma but it does make things easier.
@@iGoatonPS Sadly I don't. It was sort of a special video at the time, toke me around 1 week to make at the time. I am planning on making an updated one which would also include the DLC content too. Perhaps I may do something a little later in the new year but until then perhaps not.
With respect, taking perks that give skill points (like Daddy's Boy/Girl) will cause regrets later. Strongly recommend Intensive Training for your lowest Attribute at lvl one. Karma is almost completely irrelevant; you can adjust it up or down whenever you want. Give Purified Water to Beggars outside of towns to raise it, repeatedly steal items to lower it. Neutral is best, good brings Talon Company down on you, evil brings Regulators, Neutral brings nothing.
@@theforestman44 That is true, but there is never any real need to take the Almost Perfect perk. Unless you wasted perks getting to that point. And any perk giving skill points is a wasted perk.
@@theforestman44 I beg your pardon, there is one exception to the "never take skill point perk" rule: Impartial Mediation, but that gives you THIRTY POINTS of Speech, not the paltry 5 or 10 that the other skill point perks give, but you must maintain Neutral karma for it to work. But as mentioned, you can quickly adjust your karma whenever you wish.
Also, you should take Child At Heart as soon as you can, but not because it gives HUGE advantage, but because it makes the game more f*****g fun. And funny, too.
Hey Reese, to a point I agree as increasing stats via perks is probably not worth it and it's more worthwhile to get some 'effect perks' instead. That said, there is not much to go on at the lower levels and I went with the perks to help with getting the bomb diffused and to also allow to get lockpick up with 50 with Science a close second at 49. But it's really relative to what your trying to achieve.
Hey Wheelassasin, thanks so much for your kind words. I really hope that the video does help outml. It toke me the best part of three weeks to make and I am very happy with how it turned out.
@@TrappedInFalloutit took you three weeks to produce this audible garbage can ? I’d your admitting to spending weeks on this disgusting video that just shows your not gonna make it in this industry kid
I would have to suggest you don't set your special points like that, since you're going to miss some very good perks. The best way to do it is to set INT to 9, CHAR to 1 or 2 and everything else to 6, this will allow you to get pretty much all the good perks while getting the most XP. Charisma is not important since you load a saved game for the speech challenges.
That's actually a very good point and something I should have thought about. I guess I was just thinking form a point of view of getting someone going but probably also should have thought about next steps in terms of what perks to take at later levels. Thanks for pointing this out, it's a totally fair point.
@@TrappedInFallout Man, I appreciate you and your videos. Thank you for not slamming me, some people don't take other people's opinions very well, but you rock.
@@mulcahy123 Yeah I have seen a fair amount of that. That's ok buddy, I like to think my channel is a safe place, speak your mind buddy. Your comment actually got me thinking about a possible new guide so in all honesty I should thank you for your comment. The guide I am thinking about is specific to special point distribution and what perks to take following ok from that. And it was your comment that got me thinking about it 😄👍.
Agree, but IMO build in this guide is decent as well, because in Fallout 3 we only have less than 20 perks that matter, most perks are skills-related which are irrelevant for most players. So, as long as they set INT to 9, the rest are just whatever
Maybe it's been said already, but here a couple of my tips: Before you disarm the bomb in Megaton, go to Moriarty's saloon. Turn to the right, and you'll see Mr. Burke in the back room. Talk to him and convince him you'll set off the bomb for him instead of disarming it. He'll give you a device for it. (Also, while you're in the saloon, I think Moriarty gives you a map marker for Rivet City if you talk to him enough, making it easier to go there following your tips.) Take that device to Lucas Simms for proof about Mr. Burke's dastardly plans, then follow Simms back to the saloon. Simms will try to arrest Burke, and Burke will shoot him in the back. This will let you kill Burke without setting off the whole town. You can then loot both Burke and Simms, getting their gear, as well as Simms' house key. Then you can go disarm the bomb. Simms' son will still reward you for the quest and give you the house, and you can go into Simms' house with the key, with no karma loss or needing the secret hatch or anything. Also, I'd rather take the Lady Killer/Black Widow perk instead, especially if your PC is a woman, as the majority of enemies are male, and it's a flat 10% extra damage against the opposite sex, no matter the weapon you're using. With 9 Int, you're not lacking for skill points.
It's a great bit of advice, thanks for sharing. I have been thinking about it for a while now to make this guide to effectively get double the rewards.
Damn i wish i see your comment before i play yesterday. I reported Burke to Lucas and got him killed and thought i will not get reward for disarm so i reload the save file. I end up seduce Mr Burke though.
1. The most important Stat in F3 is Intelligence. Start with 9, later quickly collect the Intelligence Bobblehead in Rivet City to make it 10. I don't recommend to raise Charisma. F3 speech check system is based on probability. So you can get by with Charisma 1 by using Quick Save-Load to get everything you need from NPCs. 2. You do not need to steal. When first meet Moira, agree helping with her book. Pick the Radiation job. Then you can swim all your way to Rivet City to collect Intelligence Bobblehead. 3. While on the way to Rivet City, a pier in front of Citadel has locked boxes with Power Fists. The key is inside the sunken boat under the pier. Go get the Power fists 4. Back to Megaton, why not disarm the bomb. Once you are irradiated up to 600, return to Moira and she will cure you while rewarding you at the same time. 5. Next Moira's job is loot the Supermarket. that what your Power Fist is for. 6. Next Moira's job is visiting Minefield. Find a Sniper Rifle. Climb above a hill nearby minefield and shoot the sniper hiding above before entering. 7. Next job pick the injury job. Just drop a grenade on your own feet, then return to Moira 8. Next job pick the Mole Rat. You will be given a weapon which is lethal to mole rat. Mole rats stop being a threat now. 9. You should be at least Lv.5 now. Don't take the Mirelurk job. Instead go doing the Anchorage DLC mission. Once you finished you will have a Chinese Stealth Armor. Now take the Mirelurk job, it will be easy. 10. By the time you return from Anchorage Mission, you should have enough powerful weapons/armors enough to take almost all Wasteland enemies. You can stop reading guides.
For anyone playing on the Epic Games version, the hidden container exploit is still there. It's in a different camera position than the one in the video.
In the part of the vid where he shows you the "hollow rock," where he sees that first Mole Rat, save your game. Then go in exact direction that Rat comes from. Walk slowly towards and under the bridge. As you do, you will be attacked by minor creatures at low lvls. Save after each attack. At a certain point, you will trigger a random event, from a list of events. If you trigger an Alien Spaceship exploding, save again. If it's ANY OTHER EVENT, RELOAD last save and try again, until you get the spaceship. Once you get the spaceship and save your game, now you will get the Firelance (an Alien Blaster, one of most powerful weapons in the game, you might even see it falling) and Alien Ammo. Be advised you may be unable to find it quickly, but never fear, it will stay there for the rest of your playthru, no Raider will find it at that location. Once you have Dogmeat, he will find it for you instantly, plus any ammo you may have missed. Just ask him to find weapon AT THAT LOCATION, then equip it, then ask him to find ammo. If you let this event happen elsewhere without your control, chances of forever missing out on the weapon increase a hundredfold. If you get it now, you won't have to think about it again for the rest of the game. Btw, Dogmeat can glitch out at any time, ALWAYS save before using his wonderful nose, if he isn't back in 3 minutes, reload, change location a little and try him again.
Hi Reese, thanks so much for your valuable info. After reading your comment I think I really should have added that into the video. I actually have a video specifically covering the Firelance and getting it straight after leaving the Vault but I should have added to this video guide, it would have been a great addition. Thank you also on Dogmeat, another too I could have added i.e. to recruit Dogmeat early as he is a big help.
I love that you are making this content here and now still with so much passion for the game. I am introducing my mother to gaming because she is losing a lot of other capabilities in her old age. It’s great to see people still making content for us to enjoy while revisiting these classics.
Hi Sean, thanks so much for your comment and I wish mum the best of health. There seems to be a very lovely feeling when one introduces one's own parent to video games. I remember doing something similar with my mum. Thanks so much for your comment, I really appreciate it.
Quick side note about Explosives, you can keep it as low as 15 if you find a Mentats (I found 2 just in Springvale). Pop the mentats for the boost to 25 explosives which is enough to disarm the bomb. Love your channel, Fallout is the best series of games ever!!
Thanks so much for sharing that. Funny thing is that that's whats I wanted to do originally but I could not find a reliable guaranteed spawn point for some mentats.
Your stats should be STR 5, PER 6, END 6, CHR 1, INT 9, AGL 7, and LCK 6 when you exit Vault 101. CHR is a dump stat you can bypass through spam-saving / loading. The perks associated with it are only useful in limited circumstances. STR can be increased by 1 through Ant Might to give you access to Strong Back perk. AGL 7 gives you access to Ninja, Sniper, Silent Running, and other related perks. PER, END, and LCK 6 give you access to the best perks associated with them. I would swim down to Rivet City before entering Megaton, getting the INT Bobblehead before leveling up to 2nd. You will have 29 more XP points to allocate by the time you reach LVL 30 (Broken Steel). Once you Fast Travel back to Megaton, you can then start the Survival Guide with a healthy dose of rads to knock out one of the tasks right away.
Thanks for your detailed comment and for the most part I agree. Charisma really is not worth the points however it does require a little more planning on one's side. For this guide I wanted to keep it simple and easy hence the high charisma for anyone who wants to find it a little 'easier' to pass speech checks. But I totaly agree, there are a number of ways to just pass speech checks. I am considering doing a more advanced version of this guide going forward in which case Charisma will probably have almost no points invested in it.
Exactly what I do on each play through, then after the survival guide quest I'm straight to op anchorage for the Chinese stealth suit followed by the Pitt for the perforator, ghoul mask would be my next mission after that. I can get my character op AF by level 11...stealth suit and dart gun opens up so many opportunities for hilarious and inventive killing!
@@dexterhuntington2495 That sounds like a really smart move. You would get some of the best gear very quickly including power armor training. If you decide to use glitches then you can get a truck load of ammo with high HP weapons. The weapons from the Pitt would be solid too. Thanks for sharing, much appreciated.
@@TrappedInFallout thanks too you, I'm really enjoying your content, I wish you and your channel well. My start to NV is pretty smart and effective if anyone is interested, I'm enjoying your content for NV very much also, thanks.
@@dexterhuntington2495 Thanks Dexter, I really appreciate that. They are all great games. Feel free to share ideas or thoughts. I love talking about Fallout stuff, some of my videos were born out of discussions with folks on the channel 😄👍
For picking skills as a child pick 6 for everything except luck. For GOAT choose explosive, repair and speech. Leaving the vault and leveling up put all points on speech. Go straight to Megaton. Disarm the bomb and fix the pipes. This will let you level up again. Put all points on speech. Head to Bigtown (directly north of vault 101). Speak to Bittercup, first, no one else. Complement her, tell her she looks different and needs to set herself apart. The conversation may end. Talk to her again and ask her "Is there anyone in town you haven't dated?" after asking her this go straight to Pappy and ask him about dating Bittercup and you'll gain exp.. The option to ask him stays and you can ask him over and over giving you unlimited exp. right at the beginning of the game. You can develop your character however you like. It takes about 2 hours from the beginning of the game to get to level 14.
Hey Christian, thanks for sharing your steps on how to get some infinite XP. I had tried it myself and could not get it to work. I tend to use the scrap metal glitch myself as I also get caps, Stimpacks and some other goodies.
The hidden locker in Moira's shop! I have never heard about that one. - I've watched the tons of Fallout channel's & am subbed to several....& that's the 1st time that has been 'revealed'. & in all seriousness, yours is the most concise & to the point guidewise.
Oh wow thank you so much Spontaneous, I really appreciate the feedback. It's definitely something that's been there for a long time and I just used my guide to bring it out a little to the fore front. And thank you also very much for your feedback. I always try to make my videos as simple, easy and straight to the point and so I really appreciate your feedback bud.
I never finished Fallout 3 so I decided July 2024 would be the perfect time to play it. So here I am in your ultimate guide video for Fallout 3. I was surprised I did almost everything perfect except for choosing the first 3 +15 skill points. I instead chose Small Guns, Repair and Science. But everything else, I did almost the same. And I didnt know about Moira's secret locker and the secret weapon stash behind Megaton lol. Thank you for that information xD
Thank you for your lovely comment and feedback. It's a great game and I personally love to play the games around 3-5 times every year. I've been doing that since release for 3, NV and 4.
I played this game 12 years ago and I just ordered the game of the year edition brand new, dude i missed this game so much I'm 10 hours in and i already feel that magic that classic older bethesda games had, its the immersion and exploration and scenery that is so awesome, i love that sometimes when ur wandering around in a raiders encampment it feels so dark like a horror movie. This game was my first fallout game and its such a fuckin banger! I strongly recommend anyone who hasnt played it to play it!
I loved reading your comment. Fallout 3 was my first Fallout game also and as you can probably tell I still play it to this day. It's a lovely game and there is just so much to do in it.
I don’t know if this is well known, but I used to exploit a glitch ride outside of the vault in the beginning of the game where if you drop all the armors you collected off the dead vault guards and then pick the armor back up, the condition would reset to perfect on them and greatly increase the sale value for a good starting amount of bottle caps to start the game.
I will have to say that I have not heard of that one before. So you just drop the guards armors just as you leave the vault. Feel free to share the instructions buddy. It's a new one for me so would love to know a little more about it.
>special skills always put charisma in one and share the rest as you like >go with the outcast >Make the infinite scrap metal glitch >go to megaton and farm xp and caps with the scrap matel >go to each location of the bobble heads that increased one special attribute and pick them up >go and make the dlc anchorage and take all the ammo, armor and weapons >enjoy That’s the “beginners guide” i give to everyone who ask me. And always; nice vid, MO 👌
Wow thank you so much for the feedback, it's much appreciated. I am thinking of making a part 2 at some point that would go into more detail and also cover the DLC too.
I recommend this for beginners: 5 strength, 5 Perception, 5 Endurance, 1 Charisma, 9 Intelligence, 5 Agility and 5 luck. Thn you can put the remaining points into the stats you like most (except Intelligence and Charisma) That way beginners can experiment and try out all possible play styles. When you advise beginners to put 9 points here and 9 points there etc, you actually force them to a minimum of play styles and block off others. Let’s say, a beginner plays the game for 50% with heavy weapons but suddenly he gets bored and want a lighter stealthy approach, then chances are he got screwed because of his special points. Then the only way to make up for it is to reach endgame which is a bummer. I only recommend 1 Charisma because you can bypass that by save/load, or put a good amount of points in your speech skill. 9 Intelligence is to max out your skill points each time you level up. But this is just my opinion :) Have to say that this is the best channel for Fallout fans! 😄 Wish i discovered it sooner.
Wow thank you so much for your lovely feedback. And thank you for sharing your view on a great build setup. I really wish at the time that I had spent more time on the Special setup buy I did sort of burst through it. I am working on another guide to fix that somewhat specifically. But thank you again for your comment and support.
Hey GunSlinger, thanks so much for your feedback. This was by far my most difficult video to make and it was such a pleasure talking to everyone also. Thanks man, I hope there were some tips in there that were new to you.
Thank you so much Rony. It was something that I was a little worried about. I always try to make my videos short but this was a long one. I'm happy for your feedback, perhaps I may make another Premier going forward.
I'm new to this game and never knew rocks could be opened. I'm glad to know about that sniper rifle in the rock. Fighting enemies up close has been incredibly difficult so far especially fire ant soldiers because they take me down pretty easily. I'm looking to be more on the stealthy side of things sniping enemies from afar and switching to pistols when they get closer. I do use the bat when I can but it doesn't seem to do much against fire ant soldiers. My character is level 2 so that's a probably a big reason for that lol.
Thanks so much for your comment. Given your still early in the game I hope that my guide helps you out. There is a lot to digest so hopefully it will be easy to follow also.
Wow, thank you so much for your comment, it felt so lovely reading it. I try to make my guides as simple and easy as possible and also try to make things 'to the point'. Thanks again so much S 👍
I would recommend one of the first things to do once you leave the vault is to get the Firelance blaster random event located at the barn behind the vault. You can soft reset the game until you get the event. I do this every play through so I don’t miss the event or the blaster doesn’t get stuck in an unreachable location.
Ha ha you read my mind. I do exactly this. In fact I have a video doing exactly these steps. In hindsight I probably should have added that to this guide.
Thank you so much Wulfgvng, I really appreciate that. Since making my guide I have also re-thought of a number of things and may make an updated version at some point in the future. That said, thank you once again for checking out my guide.
I'd say the second you get out the vault pop it on very easy, stick your level up points in lock pick and science and pick a perk that has an active effect instead of adding skill points that can be acquired via skill books and bobble heads. With that in mind start running to rivert City for the intelligence bobble head then get towards the lock pick and science after that. Then adjust the difficulty to your choice.
I never considered game difficulty, thanks so much for sharing. I also cover getting the I Intelligence bobblehead but not the science one. Thanks so much for sharing your advice, much appreciated.
Hey man, great video. I would to add that I just figured out a xp exploit from you video. Right when you you leave the vault and level up keep going back and forth between the perks and where you add more point and you can keep adding 5 point each time til you get to level 100
Hey Chris, thanks for pointing this out to me. This sounds like a new glitch, to me certainly. Can you explain a little more. Once you leave the vault, I don't recall there being any way to add 5 points to anything via perks in FO3. Or am I missing something.
Fallout 3 was so hard when I first played it back in the day but now, I can play it in my sleep. I have only felt that with this game specifically. Atom works in mysterious ways.
I actually can relate. I felt the same way when I first played it. Today I play it so often it feelmlike I know more about the game then I do about general life.
No problem at all, thank you so much for your time and for checking it out. I do try to do my homework as best I can before posting but it does not always go as I planned. Thank you for your feedback.
Wow! Thats an amazing and indepth guide to help give new players such a good start to this game! I really like how indepth you went regarding stats vs bobbleheads and how best to approach quests! Awesome video buddy!😃🤘
Hey Reckless, thanks so much dude for checking out my guide and for your comment. This was by far my most difficult guide to make, toke me best part of three weeks. And I am so happy that it's been received very well. Hopefully this will help out people who are new to the game.
Hey Joe, thanks so much buddy for your comment and for your feedback, that means alot to me. I loved making this one, it was nice to just freestyle it based on what I usually do when I start new playthroughs.
I found that this RUclips channel can be really useful I’ve learned some things from it. My favorite thing to do is go straight to rob-co and get scrap metal and get the ghoul mask then go to underworld to get Lincoln’s repeater and do the infinite scrap metal glitch
Thanks so much for your feedback, even after al the games being out collectively for over a decade, you saying that you learn new things from my channel is a really nice complement. About the scrap metal and mask though, that sounds like a solid idea, thanks for sharing it dude. I was looking at doing a new video where you can get both houses which involves going to Tenpenny straight after Vault 101.
Hey El Lobo, wow, that's such an amazing complement, thank you so much. Thank you so much for your comment, I am just so greatful for all the support that I have received. I really look forward to tomorrow, it will be amazing talking to everyone.
Hey Papa, thanks for your comment and for sharing some insight yourself buddy, appreciate. Charisma can be reduced and other objects and items can potentially be used as a work around for sure. Thanks again for checking out my guide.
Thanks for the guide! Wish I looked for it before I started fallout 3 for the first time last week! I’ll adjust some stuff won’t be too far behind where you were
That's totally cool. You don't have to restart our game at all and I would say just carry on and have fun. Feel free to checkout my guide for any other tips as I do share stuff well after leaving the Vault also.
Oh wow, that's amazing. I really envy you my friend as it's a wonderful game and to be able to enjoy it for the first time is a great feeling. I have plenty of guides on FO3, so do feel free to check them out. And that said, thank you so much for checking out my guide and for your comment also. Once again, have a blast iGoat.
I always set my charisma to 3 and if I fail a speech check I just accept it. You can get into Simms' house simply by waiting a bit. His house becomes unlocked after a while. And you really should speak to Burke before disarming the bomb, for the storyline. It makes taking out Burke and Tenpenny much more satisfying during the 'Gotta Shoot Them In The Head' quest. Most of this guide is too much like power gaming for me.
That's a fair comment and to an extent it sort of is. I don't really take the time to explain a few options and only really go I to some level for depth for some things like choosing your player home. The guide is designed to just get someone new to the game up and running with a somewhat balanced approach. I am planning to make another one at some point which would be a little more detailed but for now this will hopefully help out everyone who checks out the video.
@@TrappedInFallout Yeah I realised after I'd posted that you must have talked to Burke in order to get the ability to set the bomb to explode. Dumb of me.
@@cdeford No worries at all ha ha. It's all good. You are right on your view, this video is to get someone up and running and I hope to correct that one day with a more detailed video.
Would you believe that I an pacing myself on the show. So far I have watched episode 1 snd plan to try and watch an episode a week. I might even watch episode 1 again, I totally loved it. And oh man, loved the fols who play the roles too. The setting, the look and feel.
4 - decent enough strength to carry stuff 7 - energy weapons (goes up during side quests and bobbleheads) 5 - your overall hit points and big guns 1 - useless 7 - the overall skill points you get from leveling up the higher it is ( goes up from side quests and bobbleheads) 9 - small guns ( good to get this high in the beginning for good damage on starter weapons such as the 10mm pistol) 6 - crit multiplier ( goes up higher from bobblehead and side quest buffs) Tag small guns, lock picking and repair. You can get science up later on in the game once you get the tag skills to 100 since medium and hard terminal locks don't come up till later in the game.
Thanks buddy for sharing your feedback, I really appreciate it. These are some great points and I am thinking of making an updated one in the future. I will certainly take all these points on good advice.
Okay so the free house items glitch still works on PC in 2022 for those of you here because of it being free on epic. YOU HAVE TO HOLD THE CHANGE CAMERA BUTTON FOR THIS TO WORK. On pc this is the "f" key. I think its LB on controller. Otherwise your character just moves and you wont find it.
Thank you so much Theoeras for sharing your advice and tip on the camera glitch. It's actually very interesting, of all the tips in the video, many appear to be having issue with the camera bit which I suppose makes sense for the most part because it's probably the most tricky bit. Thanks again for the tip.
Charisma to 9 is pointless. The speech checks can be easily bypassed by quicksaving before talking to somebody and basically repeating the convo until you pass. Plus you can use the Naughty Nightwear found in the “Those” quest topped with any other Charisma boosting headwear or drinks. Intelligence -9 Agility and Perception at least 6 since theres a few perks that require this. Dont waste a perk by adding another point to any Special unless you have to at the start due to lack of perks
Yeah I agree. I have been thinking a lot about this and did make some decisions in the video I would do differently today. I may make an updated one for the near future. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
Yes I absolutely plan to. I have some other stuff in mind for now as I am slowly going through DLC content but I totally plan to make one for New Vegas. That said I do have a glitches start for New Vegas. What that be something that you would be interested in?
Personally I don’t think you need the science skill for hacking terminals you can just guess 3 times and if you don’t get it get out the terminal. Then access the terminal again and rinse and repeat until you get it. As long as you don’t press the 4th one you can do this infinitely. If they patched this then just save and reload. The terminal
You cannot access the terminal if you do not have the required science skill. Cannot even interact with it to attempt a guess. You need 25 for easy 50 for medium 75 for hard and 100 for very hard terminals.
Wow welcome to the world of Fallout. I really hope that you have a great time playing the games. Even though they are old you will find that they still stand-up even by today's standards.
Hi Skitty Beeper, thanks so much for your comment and I really can't wait myself. It's the first time I'll be doing a premier and I am really looking forward to talking to you and everyone else.
Hey David, thanks so much for your comment buddy and feedback. It's truly an awesome game and it's totally worth going back to play it again. Although the graphics may not have aged as well but the gameplay and story and mechanics is still better than other games today, in my opinion.

Great video, love this, playing through goty edition again. 1st time in year. Only thing ill say, is with the bobblehead in vault 101, dont worry if you miss it, as you can get it later from, trouble at the homefront
Wanna hear something that sucks? As mentioned, been playing through goty. collected every bobblehead in the game, except raven rock, as had not done the quest yet. And i missed the last one in Col. Autumns room. Fml @@TrappedInFallout
You missed the utility vault jump suit at the start of the quest to leave the vault. The utility vault suit gives you plus 5 to repair. You also passed up on a corpse in the red server looking room just before the overseer that also wears the utility vault suit. Jonas also has a lab coat. This increases your science by 5. Keeping these in your inventory can be useful when performing the tasks related to their benefits. I think that would have neen a useful tip to provide, especially to new players.
Thanks for pointing those out, in hindsight I should have mentioned those during the escape of the Vualt but I totally forgot to. Had lots in my notes at the time and skipped over some and would you believe that I even edited some out.
Hey Enclave, thanks so much. It will be really cool finally getting a chance to actually chat with you all in the live chat. I'm really looking forward to it.
Thank you bro for this video. By this I had understand the mechanism well. I started playing this game for the first time and it was bit confusing for me to understand the game and it was funny when i just kill each ncp that comes😅. Love from India ❤
Lol think of all the speech checks that you might still need to save and load to pass, awesome isn't it. Ha ha I am working on something in the background to fix that. That said I hope my poor build choice does not take away from all the other stuff I shared in the video.
I will put my hands up, I certainly do. I am not a fan of horror games so get a little spooked. The first time I played the Dead Money DLC was not a great experience for me. I also find places like Dunwich not a pleasant place at all.
Make sense IMO, unlike Fallout 4, Fallout 3 enemies are not based on the player level, so if we get lost in the wasteland, we can encounter very high-level enemies early on. And I think that's because the backsound as well while we are wandering
Hello from 20224 - about the build - use chems, it's very cool and usefull, therefor don't max your specials - coumt all the buffs you can get. About INT - you don't need so many skill points - there is a lot of skill bonuses, keep it nearly 5.
Thanks for sharing your feedback, it's much appreciated. That makes sens. I made this guide a while back and I may make another more up to date guide as there are several things in there that I would certainly revisit.
Hey Forest Man, thanks so much for being so early. I think you were the first person to be in the chat and so darn early also. I truly appreciate it, thank you so much.
Moe i also downloaded your video in case it is removed by youtube and you can also use the scrap metal glitch to have infinite exp after grabing all the boobleheads to have 10 points on each skills.
@@theforestman44 Yeap that's totally true, in fact I have a video on that too. I feel like I have covered a great deal of Fallout 3 now. Here is the link to the video if your interested: ruclips.net/video/SnNxX7oHx-0/видео.html
3:25 Weird. I set up everything as you said Mo, I failed the 70% Speech check w/ Butch. And my 3 Tag Skills: Lockpick Repair, & Science were after I picked them as skills, were literally 1 point below what your read. Yours on Repair & Science I believe read at 37. Mine are at 36. Lockpick the same, yours read 27, mine 26. Just weird. I failed the Butch speech check but talked to Paul Hannon and passed it that way & yes I grabbed Medicine Bobblehead
Sadly the speech checks are not 100 certain. It's more of a probability thing. The higher your speech, the more likely you will pass it. Alternatively you can save you game just before doing it. If it fails then reload and try again.
At the third perk you can make your skills up to 100 explosives, melee weapons, repair, and small guns. After I misarmed the bomb I put all my points in science then continue select the first perk. Then back continued again then select the second. Back and forth and the points didn't go away. I don't know if you can do this at any point but right after misarming worked.
On xbone, and possibly ps3, 4, and PC too, there is a nasty bug: If you install all DLCs from beginning, it breaks the radio. You will instantly hear Three Dog talking about END-GAME events, from the beginning of your playthru all the way to the end. (It's a Broken Steel bug, to be exact.) This is not only out of order, and SPOILERY, it also blocks announcements you are SUPPOSED to hear as you complete quests. To fix this, just don't install DLCs until you're ready for them, then, install in correct order: 1. Operation Anchorage, 2. The Pitt, 3. Broken Steel (but 3. only after you finish main quest.) The other 2 DLCs can PROBABLY be done safely before OR after BS.
Hi Reese, thanks so much for sharing that with us all. I usually start my new games on PC with all the DLC which activate as soon as I leave Vault 101 and have been lucky I guess as it's not happened to me. Thanks for letting us know though, I really appreciate it.
The best SPECIAL for me it's 9 int 8 str 7 luck - remaining - for your choice and build. STR +2 - 1 bobblehead in Megaton and 1 for compliting quest Those - Ant might - this quest you can compleat with magnum or rifle - hard but donoble. Int - the bobblehead in the Rivetcity Luck - eazy bobblehead in the cementary - 2 ghouls and 3 bandits - eazy to kill, Lucky shades +1 luck near Tempeny Tower and the lucky 8 ball - hard because you need to kill supermutants - but duable with manum or rifle. 2 and 3 level put your skills to SPECIAL perk 4 - to Educated 5th to Comprehantion All other - your choice, and don't cheat - it is bad!
Thanks so much for sharing your tip and advise, I really appreciate that Dmytro. Seems like a good spread of your special stats, with a high int, strength and luck, you should be doing plenty of crit hits and getting high exp. On the cheating, sure bud, will try my best.
Thanks Braydancoe, aim happy that the video helped. Hopefully this will allow you to have a good base start in FO3. Thanks for watching and commenting.
for those who are wondering why the trick of the hidden locker 18:45 doesnt work its because you need to disarm the bomb in middle of megaton (not rig it to explode) then the trick will work
The trick itself is based off the game camera view and not not related to any quests as such. You should be able to pull it off without touching the nuke, I have certainly done it but you will not be able to actually use any of it without disarming the nuke as that is how you get access to the house. So in a manner of speaking it's true but you don't need to disarm to access the hidden container.
1: As soon as you can: go to the Scrapyard and get man's best friend: Dogmeat. You can do this right after leaving the Vault. Your life will become significantly easier with this companion and at the end of the main story he will tear through a 3 man strike force of Enclave soldiers as if they were mole rats. Or draw aggro from 2 Deathclaws while you shoot them. 2: As soon as you have explored enough of the DC ruins to reach the Museum metro station, go into Underworld which is a Ghoul settlement in the Museum Of Natural History and get Charon for free by doing the quest for the innkeeper where you have to kill another innkeeper. Once a day she goes out the door to have a smoke and you can safely deposit a frag mine in her pocket. With Charon and Dogmeat you are set, even on hard dificulty.
These are actually two very good tips. I only focused the video on a 'getting started' point of view but I really should have included Dogmeat into the guide. On a personal note he is one of my most beloved companions across all of Fallout.
It's a really big game and your right, there is a lot. I could suggest that you look at the chapters in the video and try to go through a chapter at a time to help it make a little more easier.
Hey Mo, I was not able to make it dude. I'm sorry but I am going to watch it in full. So far I have heard some great tips, lol, moving NPCs is a really cool trick.
Mo did you know that you can get colonel autumn's weapon and coat after he injects himself. Just squat down by the door and turn the camera round like you do at moiras in megaton.(new subscriber)
Thanks so much for sharing that, yes I did. In fact I think I made a guide just for that, well for his weapon anyway but that was a while ago now. And thank you so much for subscribing to the channel, it really helps out alot.
Hey Burningsteel, even in this long 35 min video, I tried my best to keep all my tips to the point. I always try to keep things simple, easy and clean. Thanks again so much my friend for stopping. I truly appreciate it.
Great video if you disarm the bomb about 2:30pm Lucas Simms door is open I'm playing on 360 so it might be different because I started with different skill points only a few points different
It's cute to watch this and be reminded how broken vanilla fallout 3 is. I probably haven't played f3 in 15 years and forgot about do much. This is quaint and familiar
Many thanks for checking out my guide. Your right, it was broken in many places - I guess its sort of a historic and traditional thing for most Fallout games ha ha.
Thanks. Playing it for the first time and I thought you had to kill the overseeker. Made it out and tried to go in the school and cleared out two levels before dying lol
That's awesome, welcome to the game. Its an amazing game and if Fallout 3 is your first Fallout then your in for a lovely treat. Thanks for checking out my guide and for your comment. I have lots of content on FO3 so feel free to check any of it out and I hope it helps.
No problem at all - my only advice is that you watch the entire video first and then decide if you want to replicate what I did or if you want to take some advice and not all. It's totally up to you my friend, thank you so much for your support and comment.
I should've watch this tutorial video before playing the game, but thank you for this vid i will definitely try and follow the tips as best as i can in my current game! :b
That's great, I hope that you get some value out of my video. It's a great game and hopefully some of the tips from my guide will help. Many thanks for checking it out and for your comment.
I'm pretty sure Lucas Simms house unlocks after you finish his quest. I have found it locked a few times though. It might depend on Lucas Simms son. Just always check and see after. The fact of the matter is, i have the bobblehead and i didn't sneak in through the roof.
for the most part this guy is alright on his information however, there are some cavots to his special first both strength and endurance can be worth getting at 10 and getting the bobble heads because they can be dropped by radiation as a matter of fact getting them above a 10 actually is beneficial because it will make them fall down to 10 or in other words it's like having a 11 just without the stat increases its not generally as big of a help but, I actually found this method can allow for a character to reduce heavy radiation stat drops granted the build is also one that relies on you becoming lvl 30 with broken steel
Thanks for sharing your feedback. I really appreciate it. I honestly have had lots of feedback and the part that I would mostly want to revise are the Special setup. In hindsight I would have done things a little differently I think.
Hey Moe will you ever do an ultimate beginner's guide for fallout new vegas or any other fallouts it would be awsome if you did cause sometimes I do not know what to do at the start
Hey Zero, yes I absolutely will. I am trying to find the right time to do it. I currently have a fair few videos that I tend to focus on in a specific order but it is something that I will certainly do. I am planning on making one for FNV and FO4 at some point.
i dont recommend tagging the science skill at all, since science and big guns skills can be maxed out entirely through skill books due to the infinite supply of them (through respawning raiders) it will take a while to grind out all the skill points for them, but doing so will let you save skill points and the tag skills for other skills, saving you roughly 160-ish skill points over the two skills, if you want to grind it out that is
That's ab absolutely solid and valid point, I should know since I covered both of the glitches on my channel. Since pushing out my guide for FO3, I have been thinking about making a more up to date version of it including DLC and making sure of some glitches to help out. Thanks so much for sharing your feedback and thoughts Sleepy PPL, I really appreciate it 👍

that's not a bad build, personally i find charisma to be somewhat of a dump stat. that said it can help in certain situations early on in the game, but i left it at 5 and put points into speech instead. i feel intelligence is more important, though some people say you should put it at 9. i don't think you need to go that high, but the more intelligence you have the more skill points you get. lock pick is good regardless of what build you do, repair is another, especially early on as you won't be able to complete the water problem without having a high enough repair skill. strength is important, but i only put enough points to carry things. but the most i put into strength is 6, unless your going for a melee build or heavy weapons, putting strength at 9 wouldn't be a bad idea. my build is like this Strength 6 Perception 5 Endurance 5 Charisma 5 Intelligence 8 Agility 5 Luck 5
Hi Luffy, thanks for your detailed comment and feedback. I actually agree with most of your points, all very valid and sensible. In this video I basically focused on just getting someone going so need not spend too much time on what might be a good balance of Special points. That said your comment has inspired me to perhaps think about a future video where I can talk about possible build ideas but focusing on just the special points.
If you don't have the special requirements for certain perks you're screwed. Worst advice you can give right off the bat, not to be rude just bluntly honest. Deal with 30 less carry weight for awhile because without 5 strength AND endurance you can't get strong back that gives you +50 carry weight at level 8. You can get +1 S or P from Those! And the +1 L from the Lucky 8-ball counts when choosing perks. You also have intense training you can use at level 2 for +1 any special, the only other useful level 2 perk is lady killer/black widow which I recommend if you don't need the +1 special. Do 5 S for strong back. 5 P chose P after Those! for your Ant Sight perk. E 6 if you want life giver otherwise 5. C can be 1 unless you want animal friend you'll need 6, master trader required 6 but caps are so abundant it's wasteful to use perks on them, child at heart is a fun perk for role playing but otherwise useless. 9 INT get bobblehead asap and choose educated at level 4 to earn 23 skill points per level up. 6 A for Action Boy/Girl if you really want nerves of steel you can do 7 but the perk does almost nothing as is. L 4 if you want scrounger you can use the lucky 8ball, I don't like mysterious stranger but it requires 5 +lucky 8ball. You have 4 points to play with if you follow my advice and want life giver. If you want animal friend and need 6 C you'll need those 4 extra for C and you'll need to either opt out of life giver or scrounger by reducing either E or L or use intense training. I emphasize animal friend in respect to the animal lovers out there, this is the best role playing perk in the game, you'll never to forced to harm an animal. For skills there are two respawning skill books. One for Science and one for Big Guns. You could with patience farm these every 72 in game hours and never put a point into either skill instead using the respawning books to get to 100. Doing this plus using my advice for INT above will nearly max your skills when you hit level 30 and boost your special to 9 then collect the bobbleheads to get them all to 10 without using magazines. Avoid maxing skills before reaching level 30 and boosting all your special to 10 because each special increases corresponding skills and without properly calculating these numbers those skill points beyond 100 are essentially wasted.
No that's totally cool, I really like it when I get comments such as yours as it helps to build on the video ultimately. I should say that I did think about these things but at the time I just wanted folks to get started and get going. Had I spent time explaining the Specials points distribution in more detail, the video would have been a lot longer and new folks may have switched off as I probably would have spent more time on the Specials screen more than anything. My focus was to just give a super high level introduction, get folks walking around in and around Megaton and off you go. That said, I have had a fair amount of thoughts shared and am considering making a 'detailed' version of this one in the near future.
chramisa is your dump stat keep that at 1 and fill the rest with those point, a high chramisa isnt that useful. and put those points into Agility for the action points. You also could have an 8 for strength as you can get ant might in a quest which will increase your strength by 1 getting a 10 in str.. you could also get the intelligence bobblehead at level 2 is to go straight to the river and swim down the river. you;'ll probably get 2 -4 hundred rads but you'll avoid the super mutant nest if you swim your way to rivet city, other than that, pretty good.
I tend to use Charisma whenever the opportunity presents itself to bypass any checks etc. That said, the other specials do certainly come in handy also. I have played so many times I still undecided what the best points distribution is for me. It's all really unnecessary until you need it but that's what makes it great.
Hey just letting you know you forgot to mention the book your friend gives you at your birthday party it can be found in your desk when you wake up it boosts melee damage just wanted to put that here because I’m new to fallout 3 and just figured that out today
That's a great shout-out, thanks so much for sharing that. I have been thinking of making an updated version of this video. Hopefully sometime soon as I have had a lot of feedback on it.

@@ultimatestuff7111 Hey Ultimate stuff, I do find Charisma to help me out in the wasteland. Some of the early speech checks that I do are really only easier due to the Charisma. Trush be told, you don't need a high Charisma but it does make things easier.
@TrappedInFallout Just curious do you have another video following this one? I'm so damn lost in this game. 1st time playing it by the way.
@@iGoatonPS Sadly I don't. It was sort of a special video at the time, toke me around 1 week to make at the time. I am planning on making an updated one which would also include the DLC content too. Perhaps I may do something a little later in the new year but until then perhaps not.
Does the craterside supply glitch go away when dlc's are loaded? Thanks!
I do not agree with you intensive training will be useless when you will take the almost perfect perk.
I really do appreciate beginners guides man, I’m not the most experienced fallout player so these are a huge help!!!

The guide I am thinking about is specific to special point distribution and what perks to take following ok from that. And it was your comment that got me thinking about it 😄👍.
Not to mention speech can be lvled up pretty much straight after you leave the vault so putting char at 9 is a waste for the most part
Agree, but IMO build in this guide is decent as well, because in Fallout 3 we only have less than 20 perks that matter, most perks are skills-related which are irrelevant for most players. So, as long as they set INT to 9, the rest are just whatever

Lol me too
Darn that TV series
Maybe it's been said already, but here a couple of my tips:
Before you disarm the bomb in Megaton, go to Moriarty's saloon. Turn to the right, and you'll see Mr. Burke in the back room. Talk to him and convince him you'll set off the bomb for him instead of disarming it. He'll give you a device for it.
(Also, while you're in the saloon, I think Moriarty gives you a map marker for Rivet City if you talk to him enough, making it easier to go there following your tips.)
Take that device to Lucas Simms for proof about Mr.
@loonaticorbit6444 you cam seduce him?
Go get the Power fists
Just drop a grenade on your own feet, then return to Moira

There are other great random events that can trigger from.that aswell like the deathclaw gauntlet or dartgun schematics
Hi Reese, thanks so much for your valuable info. After reading your comment I think I really should have added that into the video.

It's a new one for me so would love to know a little more about it.
>special skills always put charisma in one and share the rest as you like
>go with the outcast
>Make the infinite scrap metal glitch
>go to megaton and farm xp and caps with the scrap matel
>go to each location of the bobble heads that increased one special attribute and pick them up
>go and make the dlc anchorage and take all the ammo, armor and weapons
>enjoy
That’s the “beginners guide” i give to everyone who ask me.
And always; nice vid, MO 👌
As always buddy, supper clear and right to the point, just how I like it. Thanks man for the comment and feedback, appreciate it dude.
Played this game a ton as a kid and am surprised how much I was able to learn from this guide.

Very nice detailed guide video as always Mo. Even your long videos are so detailed and still easy and simple.
Try a sledgehammer dude lol it's rekts everything lol I'm only lvl 12 and finnished the game at that lvl but I'm trying to get 100% all achievements

This is the most practical start I've seen. Thank you!

It is also good to leave either perception or strength at 8 instead of 9 as there is a perk that allows you to gain 1 point in one of them
Your absolutely right. In fact it's potentially a good idea for a guide, increasing special points via quests, etc.
Dumb of me.

4 - decent enough strength to carry stuff
7 - energy weapons (goes up during side quests and bobbleheads)
5 - your overall hit points and big guns
1 - useless
7 - the overall skill points you get from leveling up the higher it is ( goes up from side quests and bobbleheads)
9 - small guns ( good to get this high in the beginning for good damage on starter weapons such as the 10mm pistol)
6 - crit multiplier ( goes up higher from bobblehead and side quest buffs)
Tag small guns, lock picking and repair.

For who don't know about what is LB is, is L2 hold that button and you will stand still
And thanks Theoeras for helping me
Charisma to 9 is pointless.
The speech checks can be easily bypassed by quicksaving before talking to somebody and basically repeating the convo until you pass.
Plus you can use the Naughty Nightwear found in the “Those” quest topped with any other Charisma boosting headwear or drinks.
Intelligence -9
Agility and Perception at least 6 since theres a few perks that require this.
Dont waste a perk by adding another point to any Special unless you have to at the start due to lack of perks
Yeah I agree. I have been thinking a lot about this and did make some decisions in the video I would do differently today. I may make an updated one for the near future. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
Can you make a similar Video for Fallout New Vegas please.
I followed this guide and really enjoyed playing through.
Yes I absolutely plan to. I have some other stuff in mind for now as I am slowly going through DLC content but I totally plan to make one for New Vegas. That said I do have a glitches start for New Vegas. What that be something that you would be interested in?
hey! im COMPLETELY new to fallout 3, so this helped a lot!
No problem at all, thanks for checking out my guide.
That's absolutely right, you can just do it three times and then exit therefore stopping you from locking the terminal.
You cannot access the terminal if you do not have the required science skill. Cannot even interact with it to attempt a guess. You need 25 for easy 50 for medium 75 for hard and 100 for very hard terminals.

Heck yeah bro that totally works. I was wondering how the player stayed looking towards the wall while circling the camera. Lifesaver ✅

This sounds interesting, are you saying that this was some sort of bug in the game causing your skills to jump to 100?
Int - the bobblehead in the Rivetcity
Luck - eazy bobblehead in the cementary - 2 ghouls and 3 bandits - eazy to kill, Lucky shades +1 luck near Tempeny Tower and the lucky 8 ball - hard because you need to kill supermutants - but duable with manum or rifle.
2 and 3 level put your skills to SPECIAL perk
4 - to Educated
5th to Comprehantion
All other - your choice, and don't cheat - it is bad!
Thanks so much for sharing your tip and advise, I really appreciate that Dmytro. Seems like a good spread of your special stats, with a high int, strength and luck, you should be doing plenty of crit hits and getting high exp. On the cheating, sure bud, will try my best.
Thank you for this video it made my life better. Thank you
Thanks Braydancoe, aim happy that the video helped.
This is so much information to take in just to start my first play thru on fallout 3 😢
It's a really big game and your right, there is a lot. I could suggest that you look at the chapters in the video and try to go through a chapter at a time to help it make a little more easier.
Thank you, now I love playing fallout 3 I’m going to sub now
Many thanks for your support and for checking out my guide and for the feedback also. It's really appreciated.
Hey Mo, I was not able to make it dude. I'm sorry but I am going to watch it in full. So far I have heard some great tips, lol, moving NPCs is a really cool trick.
Hey Rayhan, life and family always comes first. No problem at all, perhaps I will make another one in the future and I may catch you then.
You can save your repair skills for fixing pipes by equipping raider blaster helmet (+5repair,+5explosives) and consuming mentats
That's a very good point, many thanks for sharing that.
Thank you mo for the information from new subscriber.
Thank you so much for your feedback and comment. And thank you so much for your support. I truly appreciate it.
Nice vid, all relevant things packed in one vid and straight to the point.^^
Hey Burningsteel, even in this long 35 min video, I tried my best to keep all my tips to the point. I always try to keep things simple, easy and clean. Thanks again so much my friend for stopping. I truly appreciate it.
@@TrappedInFallout I love Fallout content, regardless of base game mod theories or a guide. Especially when everything is on point. Stay safe m8^^
@@Burningsteel Ameen 😄👍.
@@TrappedInFallout Cant wait for your next stream^^
@@Burningsteel Thanks Burningsteel, not sure when it will be. Perhaps if I ever hit 2k, perhaps after that to celebrate with everyone.
nice tips buddy i will definetly begin as u suggest in my probable second playthrough
That's awesome, I hope it helps you out with your future playthroughs - thanks so much for checking out my guide.
Great video if you disarm the bomb about 2:30pm Lucas Simms door is open I'm playing on 360 so it might be different because I started with different skill points only a few points different
Ah that's cool, thanks for letting me know. That sounds interesting, I will have to check it out for myself. Thanks so much for sharing bud.
Thank you for the guide!
No problem at all, I hope it helped.
About to start my 3rd play through. In 2024. Thank you for your video
Ha ha as long as you have it then that's what matters lol. Its a great Bobblehead so its worth getting for sure.
for the most part this guy is alright on his information however, there are some cavots to his special first both strength and endurance can be worth getting at 10 and getting the bobble heads because they can be dropped by radiation as a matter of fact getting them above a 10 actually is beneficial because it will make them fall down to 10 or in other words it's like having a 11 just without the stat increases its not generally as big of a help but, I actually found this method can allow for a character to reduce heavy radiation stat drops granted the build is also one that relies on you becoming lvl 30 with broken steel
Thanks so much for sharing your feedback and thoughts Sleepy PPL, I really appreciate it 👍
@@TrappedInFallout you responded to a comment on a half a year old video, not a lot of youtubers do that, thats nice to see, ill definitely come back to you for fallout videos

Hi Mo. I'm excited for this video! It's a bit a different format and it's a premiere, I can't wait! I'll definitely be there my friend!
Hey Mabb's, thanks so much buddy. I think it's going to be special to me. It will be great just being able to speak to you all via live chat. that's not a bad build, personally i find charisma to be somewhat of a dump stat. that said it can help in certain situations early on in the game, but i left it at 5 and put points into speech instead. i feel intelligence is more important, though some people say you should put it at 9. i don't think you need to go that high, but the more intelligence you have the more skill points you get. lock pick is good regardless of what build you do, repair is another, especially early on as you won't be able to complete the water problem without having a high enough repair skill. strength is important, but i only put enough points to carry things. but the most i put into strength is 6, unless your going for a melee build or heavy weapons, putting strength at 9 wouldn't be a bad idea.
my build is like this
Strength 6
Perception 5
Endurance 5
Charisma 5
Intelligence 8
Agility 5
Luck 5
