    THANK YOU SO MUCH! I had a medical breast reduction a few months ago as a new mom can’t afford new bras; so I’m making them. Couldn’t figure it out without a serger so thank you so much!!

    thank you for putting all the techniques on elastic sewing together in one video. That is so helpful! I purchased some out of season t-shirts for cheap to make new panties. By purchasing the largest size they had available, I was able to make 2 complete pairs and use some leftover fabric to mix and match similar to your lace style. WHAT SAVINGS! And THEY actually fit for a change. THANK YOU SO MUCH!

    I absolutely love this video!! I design and sew exotic wear and lingerie, some times swimsuits. I absolutely love the FOE! I made panties for my daughter and myself few weeks ago, I absolutely love them especially when they're exactly what I look for coverage, get way to get exactly what you want!! FOE gives my pieces a finished clean look, and works great, only kind of sewing machine I don't have is coverstitch but I use twin needle sometimes with the fold over elastic and it gives great stretch and good look!! Definitely saving up for coverstitch machine tho!!

      Thanks so much 🥰 You are so nice. A viwer suggested me a couple of months ago that I'd love to have a cover stitch machine and I've been saving for it too. I think I'll get it soon. Can't wait. Cheers 🙂

    I used to make my own lingerie by hand in my 20’s. When I didn’t have a sewing 🧵 🪡 machine. You are like the older sister I wish I’d had 😉. I just love 💗 your channel. You should sell videos. I think people would buy them. Who wouldn’t want to be taught tips & tricks by a funny lady❓❣️🙋🏽‍♀️ I would❣️

    I have college books on how to sew and none of them really go into the actual application and uses of the stitching and even in a lot of sewing books it seems to always be left out. Like here's how you pull everything together to make it look nice and pretty

    Maybe 🤔 you could do a video on different fabrics that seem to hold up. Is there a place to buy cotton fabric that isn’t this new stuff❓I’m so tired of clothes not lasting more than a few times. My shirts used to last years. Even decades❗️

    How do u get stretchable fabric to go through the sewing machine without binding up or getting tangled in the machine?

    • @DowntownTailoring
      @DowntownTailoring  2 года назад +1

      Excellent question! I have a hack for this! I will link a video of mine that is only 1 minute ish long and shows how to help with this :)

    Wait, in the second example, the lace is the elastic, yes? No? I think I need to re watch but I suppose it doesn't matter- my sewing machine doesn't do that C fancy zigzag. Thanks for giving multiple examples.
    I would guess if someone really needed or wanted to, they could use material from an interesting t shirt. Ps yes, those Kitties are cute.

    • @DowntownTailoring
      @DowntownTailoring  2 года назад +1

      Hi! Yes, this is a lace elastic on the second example. If you don't have the 3 steps zigzag, you can safely use the normal zigzag. It will be ok. Cheers 🙂

  • @adamarlem9863
    @adamarlem9863 2 года назад

    Prefer sewing a casing, overuse of zigzag will destroy a sewing machine over time...or just plan to buy a new one every few years. Worth the cost of the underwear?💰

    • @DowntownTailoring
      @DowntownTailoring  2 года назад

      Hi. I understand your point. But remember that there's a lot of old, cheap and good sewing machines around if someone is considering making a good amount of panties. Otherwise, the machine won't suffer that much for making a few pairs. This machine on the videois 13 years old and I got it new for $110. It is still in great shape and I certainly have made a lot with it. Cheers

    • @adamarlem9863
      @adamarlem9863 2 года назад

      @@DowntownTailoring Yes, but if someone thinks with a $100 machine, they will be sewing all this stuff for years. Probably not. You have to check your cost effectiveness. Also the cost of good raw materials, or supplies, is not what it used to be. You have to do the math :)

    Today’s underwear 🩲 do not seem to last very long. Well, that goes for clothes, too, if we’re being honest. It’s awful to have to run to the store to pick up a new shirt to go somewhere in particular. Just for that shirt to be dead after 3 washes. And I am NOT that hard on clothes.
