Love this tutorial brother!!! I keep getting missing files and I get upset cause I save and save-as and then the next day… no wav-samples to be seen? What a headache Sir! Thanks for the help man!
Thank you your video was very helpful. Issue resolved.
Thanks! Fixed my problem.
Thanks twice now!
My situation is that the instrument sound itself is gone. There's no sound files anywhere and the file extension it's saying is (.soundx) so I don't know how to fix that. I could just download the sound files again, if I can find them.
i having the same problem. this video doesnt help

i have the same issue..did you ever figure out the problem
How do I get SO3 Pro to open wav files that come up as 'unknown format', even though I can open these files in other DAWs?
I had a weird one today.
I did a quick couple of mixdowns of a song I've been building up.
I didn't like those mixes so I deleted them.
Later I went back to the song and 2 Guitar parts were missing. 😲
They were rendered tracks made from layers.
S1 wanted the Mixdown wavs that I had deleted.
Searching the pool did not help BUT mercifully a much earlier save had put copies of the original guitar parts where a normal search of the pool couldn't find them.
Still scratching my head as to why ... but at least they're not totally lost.
I will have to rebuild the Comps though.
Strange huh ?
I usually don't comment on videos! But thank you so much!!!!!!!! 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
Questions/Problems.
* Opening a project i got message that 970 files are missing. With Search i found some missing files, it became 270, and these can't be found anywhere (i've searched all folders /sub..sub_subs/ in my big folder dedicated only for StudioOne, all back up /mirror/ folders on 2 external drives). It is an old and very extensive 'precious to me' project, and redicilous thing is, for example there is a guitar solo, i splitted it at some points to get rid of some noise when i was not playing, now the solo is there only in pieces; all channels are ripped off here and there. Plus other issues.
* Yes, as a rule i have a 25 minutes save; "use cached plug-in data on save"; "ask to copy external files when saving document" all on/checked. * I didn't change nor names, nor locations of working folders and files (though i have this project saved under different names as versions).
* What i did is: i replayed some important stuff and added two old stereo tracks of this project/song to blend left-overs on channels with old stereo mixes (with mistakes, unbalanced, but it is better something than nothing, there is no way i'd re-do everything due to circumstances and basically it is impossible to replicate the guitar/drums/real percussions with their previous settings, especially if i don't have some guitar or pedal or a keyboard anymore). I alligned everything nicely (time, buses, volume,..), corrected, blended everything nicely, and put vocals at the right level (up and with different settings, that's why mainly came back to this project), clicked "save". Logically, the DAW asked me "do i want to add these files", obviously, i clicked "yes" and...1475 files for each added stereo track started copying. In panic i pressed "cancel", but it was too late. Where these files are from, why?! Why stereo tracks came with so many files?
* But this is not all: i had plenty enough of memory space (workable 450-500GB free), now i am in the end of red zone with 78GB left. I went to media folder to look for duplicates: no duplicates, but there are about 6000 files there (and some of them are not from this project). Agh..
* But this is not all again: i started clearing up the space on pc and the more i delete or move ...the lesser space i get on computer...now it is 50GB.
* To free space and continue working i thought that i would mirror the path, create the same folders in external drive, link the project to media files there, But i am afraid to make things worse in this and other projects (especially considering that freeing the space now works for me the opposite way).
* What is wrong? How can i fix all that mess?
do you have a video about the midi timing issues in Studio One 3? thank you.
What issues? We haven't had MIDI timing issues with Studio One.
Try increase the bpm +1 it worked for me until a fix
I have all my files in my documents for Studio 0ne 3 folder that holds all my songs with the tracks I am looking for... I have found my files but they're all mixed up and there is about 200 to 300..(How do you find all your files for that one song all those tracks? ) My guess is that, all my recorded tracks that I found are for all of my songs combined in Studio one 3.....Could anyone lend a helping hand? Thank you
You can't. Name your tracks in STudio One after your song and you'll always have the song name appended to the file name.
i have a problem i'm dealing with right now where i open a song, i'm told there are missing files, i go to the place where the files are supposed to be and their not there. now what?

You'd have to make sure those VSTs are properly installed.

When bouncing I do not see the MP3 file. Anyone please advise thanks
Well, that doesn't make sense. If you bounce an MP3, Studio One will show you the bounced file in a new window. We can't resolve this via YT comments. Call us: 615-933-6775

@@Obedia oh come on... you know what im talking about
Yep this video did not cover anything that is happening to me in studio one. I know how to do everything he told me to but I still can't find the missing files what a waste of time I think they just want you to subscribe and call a tech to charge you
This video was no help. Maybe if the title of the video were changed to "How to Remove "Missing Files" No Longer Used in Your Session", then it would be helpful to those looking for that solution. However, when you say "How To Fix Missing Files In PreSonus Studio One", most people are coming here to find out how to FIND and fix broken linked files for the session and this video doesn't help with that one bit.
Then you can call us for one on one help. Thanks!
what a terrible sounding vocal, sounds like the mic is backwards.
