In the process of getting into the rc hobby. Being a newbie how do you do a storage function or discharge function on a lipo seeing this charger doesn't have that feature?

when testing SBUS you dont need an extra battery connected to the BG-8S it will power up from the SBUS connection alone, works on my BG-8S hope that helps.🙂

Why do my charger say input voltage lower than 11.1 and it's not letting me charge my battery

  • @richmiller540

Does this storage charge, I know you said it doesn't discharge but will it charge up to storage voltage.

You can yes Manually set it to 3.85v.

I'm slowly doing the same thing no more parallel charging for me. Mainly so I can monitor the IR in the cells. I live in California we need no help with fires

I find my batteries experience random cell failures whenever I parallel charge. I now only Parallel charge the batteries to 80% capacity, then charge them individually to 100% now. For this, I have 2 chargers to aid with the process.

@@MatthewTaylor3 that's kinda what I've had happen. I was low amp charging some really expensive packs and one cell puffed really bad that one pack would have paid for 4 little isdt chargers. I do like the idea of charging to 80%

This is a great move. Parallel charging does add in so much more risk. For the cost of these cheap chargers it’s simply not worth it now. You can spend a few hundred and know you much safer. It’s cheaper than a new home.

BattGo is dead. Why is ISDT still placing the feature in their chargers for batteries that no longer exist?

    • @nmfishdude200

Did Horizon Hobby buy the tech?? I have seen some reviews about smart batteries being recognized by the BattGo feature on this P10... Meaning you can use the P10 like a spektrum smart charger. Also ISDT was hired to build all the spektrum chargers for horizon hobby so It makes sense but im not sure...

@@nmfishdude200 My understanding is that Horizon Hobby / Spektrum bought out BattGo just prevent any further developments.
The last firmware update I got for my ISDT Q8 actually has the feature listed as "removed" in the list of "fixes".

how much risk is there to store lipo in room temperature while not charging or discharging?

    • @shadow7037932
      @shadow7037932 3 года назад

Little risk. But you should store your LiPos in lipo bags just in case.

      Storage voltage is much saver..
Fully saved = more energy saved in it - so more smoke and fire can come out of it than a "discharged" one (3,70 to 3,8 Volt is my storage voltage.. )

    • @Cre8ionz.

      Damaged cells are more dangerous..
And if a battery smells like "candy" / sweetish it's dying - dispose it.
