Had it for 5 weeks and it smoked. Opend a ticket in Banggood - they say no warranty and I hope I understand. Sent an email to ISDT, hope they can help. It smoked when I was charging 6S 7.5 A/h which is on the edge, but should have been fine.
What's the point of releasing this product? D2 has 2x more discharge power, is smaller, quieter and like Lee pointed out the AC cable goes out in a way that will let you use other cables too. Price is €120 for both models. Lee thanks for unbiased review :)
Excellent review! I was starting to regret recently buying the HOTAD6 Pro when I saw this one come around. Now, I think I made the right choice and you are right about how nice it is to have usb charging built in.
A good honest review. Can the USB C be used to connect the charger to a PC and run DataExplorer. I'm suprised that you haven't mentioned DataExplorer (DEX) before as it's free, and allows a graphical view of all the parameters from chargers with a USB output. I use it alot with my Skyrc D100
I just bought a isdt d2 and I can check the internal resistance on my batteries with it. Maybe you need to update your software. I can also change the screen to dark mode and have the battery kill option.
It's pretty much an AC powered Toolkit M6D by the look of it (no bad thing!). I use a pair of iCharger 106B's (had them for many years) and an M6D. They all sit in a charging station made from an old tool case. In the base is a 700W PC power supply which powers all 3 chargers. Plenty of room for cables etc. The M6D is what I take to the field, along with a 12V leisure battery. I usually charge outside as it is so much safer and saves messing about with ammo boxes with a bag of sand on or other such nonsense.
Fantastic review, Lee! 😃 For now my small TolkitRC M6 works great and its size helps a lot when traveling... But I think about getting a bigger one with time! Well, I hope ISDT listens to you! It could be the one I get. 😊 Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Try updating the firmware on the K2, on the latest firmware my fan isn't on all the time, just if I'm discharging or charging at a high current. So far the K2 has been excellent for me.
Great review! Helps someone just getting into the hobby quite a bit. I know this is an older video, but I have a question about your USB port preference with this particular charger. My understanding is that there is a menu option that sets USB Charge to ON/OFF, so you very well could use this port for your USB devices. Were you disappointed that it came in a USB C style port or were you thinking the port could not be used for USB charging at all?
Here is a list of the things that I use in the hobby that charges from a regular USB style charger; RadioMaster TX16s Radio, 18650 cell charger, GoPro Session, GoPro 8 Black, FatShark goggle batteries, DJI FPV Controller, RunCam Action Camera, TBS Whoop battery charger and my mobile phone. Here is what I can use that port with using the cable supplied; erm, nothing! If you are a DJI pilot then maybe you have something that may work with it but I'd have welcomed a few 2Amp regular USB parts for the HUGE amount of stuff I have to charge for a days flying and filming...
@@Painless360 OK, so multiple ports and Type-A connectors, rather than the Type-C that it comes with. Since the Type-C port it comes with is 5Volt 2 amp, the primary concern is the type of cable required? We've all probably got a ton of old Type-A cables readily available. The Type-C connector may mean upgrading cables just to use this specific feature That's a reasonable request. And I can certainly agree that multiple ports would be great on any of these chargers. Thanks for the clarification!
Nice video thank you! Does it not have a balance charge option please? Or does it just do that automatically when you have the balance cable plugged in.
excellent video thanks for the information, I have 2 questions about you that you have already used them, which one do you prefer and why, is that I am going to buy mine and I would like your opinion, thank you very much, the D2 or the K2?
Hello, I regret that the display of the charger K2 does not show the operating mode information in running like the charger isdt D2. As: Charging, Charging done, storage done, storage discharge, discharging done etc… To know the running mode, there is only the color that is different! Philippe.
Lee great review and seriously considering a move from my faithful EV peak AR1. I planning the move as I'll be using li-ons and lipos. Will the charger detect a li-on automatically and lipo automatically? Worried I might charge with the wrong chemistry 😨. Cheers
@@Painless360 also Lee I wondered whether that fan noise is due to the mains feed ? Would there be less if it was handled by a direct 60a24v DC power supply ? Keen to know :)
@@Painless360 cheers. Gonna avoid. It's like a Jet Engine ! Would drive me insane. Would you recommend any other one ? Ideally after 2 charge ports and has the usual discharge storage and cell resistance ideally ? Thanks again much appreciated
Does this have the timeout function that kicks in when charging large field packs? I've got a 18ah 4s I use and have to run it twice on both of my ISDT chargers due to the time based timeout. Can you manually enter high voltage cutoff limits other then the ones in the menu? Otherwise I love my ISDT chargers just wish I could use it to charge the battery I charge from in the field. :)
Hello Painless360 i know this is the wrong video but i have a question about the ar wing pro. There is a gps holder in the back cover but i came to the realization that there will be a esc right under that holder will it be getting crazy interference or should i mount the gps elsewhere again im sorry for asking this in the wrong video but i watched all the wing videos and decided to build one and you never really said anything about that in the model review. -Thank you for your time.
I received mine awhile ago, but only opened it to you use today, and there is something loose and rattling inside. Like a loose nut. Will not be plugging it in.
Lee, have you run across any unit that has a more robust discharge function? I always seem to have a 5200mah unused when I get home or other unused packs. Putting them back to storage voltage takes hours and hours.
USB-C is the way everything is going. USB-C has higher current capacity, and higher data throughput. Simply get the appropriate cable to hook things up. The USB-C port on this device supports 5V/2A , (usb-c is spec'd to carry a minimum of 3A), and it will charge usb devices. Yes, it is also the firmware update port.
I’ve had two ISDT chargers and both failed within 18 months. Reported both directly to ISDT and got no response. I would not bother, poor quality poor customer service.
Great review Lee. I hope that ISDT makes note of your suggestions. Thank you for all you share. Have a great day.

Sitting here waiting for my batteries now charging 12 4s batts takes ages I just want to fly lol
I like the Q6 nano. Cheap and I never really charge over 8 amps anyhow.

How to turn off buzzer in ISDT K2 AIR after Full changing the battery because it is so annoying sound. Plz help!
If its possible it'll be in the menus.. Having a status and warning sound on a charger is a good idea... Best of luck
