Thank you for the walk-through. I feel much better about asking my AGM to buy 3 of these so I can rebalance a electric go-kart battery pack cell by cell. And if you're curious, it is an 2s8s configuration (I think it's called 2s8s, there's two packs of 8 cells but it's all in series) of LiFePo4's. Each of which is 60ah... Yay me and baby sitting these cells!
I'm thinking of buying one very soon and I'm looking for a good balance charger for my two getting old 6s20p battery packs that need a good balance on every charge. I've read this charger balances at 1A. I was wondering do you know if this claim is 1A per port or is it 0.5A each port so 1A balance claim in total? Really hope that's not the case and that it balances each port at 1A. Reason I'm a bit concerned is that i saw in a review that it only discharges at 1.5A even though it claims to discharge at 3A. Turns out its only 3A in total with both ports only discharging at a maximum of 1.5A each. So... Is it the same here. Balancing at 0.5A each so 1A balance claim in total? Thanks in advance
Most people charge at 1C or 2C rate. As an example, if your battery is a 1000mah capacity lipo and you want to charge at 1C, the amps you want to set is 1A. 2C will be 2A.
Hey I am interested in the up610 200w charger. As a power supply, would a laptop adapter work? If I look on aliexpress, which laptop adapter should I buy? With kind regards, Richard
Hey albert! good to know you got a video on this charger i was searching for a reliable review ;) i got a question tough i currently balance charge with two imax b6ac (chinese copy) i have seen the isdt d2 charger for a nice upgrade, easy and convenient, but a friend recommended me the skyrc q200 , more pricey thoug, i normally balance charge , got no problems with it... wich one you recommend me to go with? I think is more modern and convinient the isdt interface than the bluetooth interface of the q200, and more or less the price is the same , 199 dollars the q200 with 4 ports and 115 dollars the isdt with 2 ports ... your opinion would be valuable in my community , it actually made us debate for 3 days Xd thanks a million mate for your opinion!!!!
I'm trying to find a charger to replace some defective factory chargers for my HAM radios. They are LiPo 2 cell 7.4v, but they have no balance leads. Is this something that can still be used? Edit: they are actually Li-ion, is the lack of a balance lead a problem?
The iSDT D2 is a dual channel charger and is just like using two separate chargers at the same time. The SkyRC Q200 is a four channel charger. But it not only acts as four totally independent chargers, it has built in Bluetooth and an app for your cell phone. You can then setup a charging program within the app to make charging and putting batteries in storage much quicker. All I do is physically connect all my batteries to the charger, the rest I do through my phone. I pull up the app, select channel A and select the program I want it to run on that battery (I setup one for balance charge and one for storage) and then hit start on my phone. I repeat that for the remaining channels B,C, and D. I have all my batteries started with charging (or storage) in less than 45 seconds. You can check it out on Banggood, they have several reviews linked on their product page. www.banggood.com/SkyRC-Q200-QUATTRO-ACDC-2X100W-2X50W-Lipo-Battery-Balance-Charger-Discharger-p-1059167.html?rmmds=search HiTech sells their own version of the same thing but the one I own and love is the Q200: www.amazon.com/X4-AC-Pro-Port-Multicharger/dp/B01M23WBJ2/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1503262206&sr=8-1&keywords=X4+AC+Pro
There are much better chargers out there, the Q200 is not strong enough, it does 100x2 and 50x2 ...there are many quad chargers out there that do 100x4. I like the D6 Duo Pro dual charger but on AC its 200w(100x2) and on DC 650w(325x2) at 15a per ch.
The default is balance charge. You have to go into the menus to turn it off. I usually charge at a 2C rate. You can charge at whatever rate you want but above 2C the battery usually suffers some degradation. Nothing wrong with 0.45 (1C)... the battery just charges slower but keeps it nice and happy.
@@M4rkmcc21 Yes you can. However, only charge above 1C if you're sure the battery is in good shape. This goes for all lipo charging, but especially if you intend to charge them faster
Really! Is the best. It do everythink alone
The Q6+ serves me perfectly. You don't always need "more". Understood you're getting reimbursed.
HP 800GB sever power supplies are great if you need a 12v supply, just need to short pins31 and 34

Great review. Now that this review is five years old, do you have a new best charger ever ?
Very useful video and well explained , nice one dude 👍

Had to laugh when you said it was "fantastic" after talking about how the fan makes a bit of noise. Nice review!
The noise doesn't bother me. All the features certainly outweigh the noise factor...
Albert Kim Haha yeah the noise wouldn't bother me either, maybe they installed a 5051 racekraft prop for cooling ;)
I say the Hobbymate D6 Duo PRO is a slightly better charger with both AC/DC (200w/650w) 15A
Great video thank you!! Please make sure not to plug in the power cord (3:13) while it's already plugged into a wall socket, it can shortcircuit.
What are the task available for nimh and nicd?
What c rating would I charge at for a 120-130c 2s lipo?
1c...for instance if you have 1300mah you would charge at 1.3 amps=1c
If u do normal charging, lets say twice 1.5 A, will the fan be also loud or only with discharging?
The fan does not come on as much when charging. It comes on all the time when discharging.
Albert Kim ok thanks
How do you decide how many amps to charge your battery at

Sorry, I don't know anything about that charger.
But a 150 watt laptop adapter , goes work with that charger ? it,s similair to idst
I have the 608 and it seems to keep adding amps on HV setting, even after its "done". Have you noticed anything similar on this one?
Have not noticed that. Your lipo may just need more balancing. Check the IR of the lipo and you might find the IR of each cell to be widely different.
thanks.
*I only have 1s HV's right now
Strong like!!

You can use these chargers without the balance lead but the cells might end up unbalanced at the end of the charge cycle.
If the charger doesn't detect the cells when I plug in thr balance port on any battery what could be the issue +
Mainboard needs repair

I have to respectfully disagree and say that the SkyRC Q200 QUATTRO is The Best Charger Ever.

Hi is there no balance charge feature on this? Also can u ask why you charged a 450mAh lipo at 0.9A? Should it not be 0.4 or 0.5? Thanks

For balancing the port is on the charger no balance leads hanging from the charger? I’m confused on the balancing part
It gives you a warning which you can choose to bypass if you want but not recommended!
are you able to charge 2 x 200w or is it 200w total ?
200w in total
What does "storage" mode do?
adjusts the lipo voltage to 3.8v which is known as the storage charge level
@@AlbertKimTV does this bring a full lipo down to storage or bring a low battery up to storage level? Or both? Thanks
Can you charge through the balance plug without plugging into the xt60?
+David Codrington no
Thats daft and rather annoying.
