@@Optimalillusion I bear Elvis no ill-will. It's fine that he used to work on mst3k but let's be honest, he made an excellent decision when he chose to leave.
You know, the more I watch reruns of MST3k online, the more I realize my favorite character IS Tom Servo, one of the neatest-looking robots ever created! He's in my Top 3 all-time favorite robots behind maybe R2-D2 and Robbie the Robot. Oh, and it goes without saying -- Kevin Murphy WAS the voice and soul of Tom Servo as much as Walt Disney was Mickey Mouse... Or, for that matter, Jack Mercer was Popeye the Sailor.
Don't know if he meant to do that, but he definitely employs that 50s do-wop thing. Spot-on. He jumps in and out of so many genres. His little operetta during the closing credits of Final Sacrifice is priceless.
I love RiffTrax, but the mid movie vignettes in MST3K really add some great character to the formula, and in some cases they're just as funny as the movie riffs. I miss them.
The "Catching Trouble" thing kills me! Kevin Murphy certainly knows that style of those late 1920'a tunes! (Can't think of the genre at the moment, but I know the Marx Brothers mocked the style in some of their movies :)
Think I heard something along those lines in a Mike and Kevin interview, too. But as fun as Kevin's songs are, Mike's impression of Morrissey slays me.
Murphy must have studied music. Or at least been keenly interested all his life. Every single MST3K show has several musical references and at least a bit of singing from him. He's fun and he can sing alright.
Tom Servo will only ever have two voices: Kevin Murphy and someone who can't compare to Kevin Murphy.
And where does J Elvis fit in?

@@Optimalillusion The latter.
This is part of the reason that I just can’t get into the Netflix and newer seasons.
I couldn’t agree more.
Kevin IS Servo, and Trace IS Crow.
It Brings a tear to my eye every time the USAMC sings.
Kevin sings over the menus of Rifftrax DVDs. Pretty good!
Good?
He's the BEST!
What a testament to the quality of even the short bits between commercials. Such a great show.
This is the best nostalgia ever for me. The ongoing joke of multiple servos always made me laugh.
This is a True MST-3K MASTERPIECE !
God & the good-old U S of A loves you.
Kevin Murphy's voice brought to you by Heaven™.

I knew he was my favourite right off.
Crow is my favorite character in the show, and in my mind Trace IS Crow.
I... I... I can't get enough of this man's voice!
Might check out the song he did for Cyanide and Happiness called ‘Lab Results’. Epic
That Observer song is just magic.

What would make you think that wasn’t exactly what he was doing
The little 80's medley to the credits of Space Mutiny always gets me.

God Bless the Real Tom Servo, Kevin Murphy, and his writers...
Oh, the ballad of Timmy was beautiful.
I always lose it when they break out in Hinky Dinky Parlez-Vous
I really love Bill and Kevin together in that singin' Observer number!
This choir is hilarious and oddly creepy. And they are fans of Colin Firth!
They really moved their tails for us
Tibby...let's play in the yaaard...ohhhhhh...
"Gamera is really neat, he is filled with turtle meat, now we have Commercial Sign..."

Tom servos greatest hits in one album
“Hey Google, where to buy Tom Servo’s Greatest Hits Album” 😅❤ 💿
Now what would it take to get into the United Servo Academy?
Murphy must have studied music. Or at least been keenly interested all his life. Every single MST3K show has several musical references and at least a bit of singing from him. He's fun and he can sing alright.
Yeah, and I am pretty sure he was a choir boy when he was a kid.
Yep, Kevin Murphy likes to hear himself talk and sing but he deserves to
: 00:26 Nonsensical lyrics, YES.. But what a GREAT VOICE,,
Theres videos online of Kevin Murphy with a choir singing random songs. Should look it up, they're pretty funny.
Brilliant!
That does sound like Kevin singing....must have multitracked it....
Brigadier General Thomas “Bolthead” Servo Academy Men’s Chorus.
Rhyming "contusion" with "Suddenly Susan" is amazing
Suddenly Susan
Kevin Murphy had to have studied harmony at some point?
> R is for the gifts you give me every time you smile.
Wait. What?
Jesus...literally better than Pet Sounds.
TOP 10 ANIME SINGERS

Saves us and saves all the world (oh baby)
'Creepy Girl' sounds a bit like 'Tears on My Pillow'!
Lmao I thought I was the only one
Tibby. ;_;
that's a lot of tom servos
Too bad you didn't include Servo thinking that the Brain Guys would sing "that Schoenberg-Milton Babbitt crap"!
You forgot the time where Tom Servo was “singing” in Season 10 Episode 2.
Magneto
some one make a mp3 of this and post it quick
Those choir Servos are a hair creepy looking.
Using music for good. I tremble.
Turtles are tibby and tibby is turtle
