Cool video. I just got myself a $300 1968 Sprite project.

Porsche clearly has the power advantage but the driver seems more conservative. Good video!

Don't get me wrong, I lover Spridgets, but honestly, the Porsche looks like it's out on a Sunday drive.

And I bet you had more fun than the 911 driver.
I had, until recently, a 72 Group 2B MG Midget MK III in a similar blue here in Australia.

It's likely a 1275...he really has it singing. Wonder if he is running the 4.22 or 4.55 rear end? The 911 really blows the Mk-3 Sprite away on the straightaway...but the Sprite does seem to out-handle the Porsche.

In my old Mini racing days we used 1275s but some had them taken out to 1400 and 1500 which were very fast but tended to burn pistons, the A series engine was ahead of its time but the basic design is about 70 years old! Just goes to show how good the engineering was all those decades ago.

Even with just a 1.6 litre engine from a Spitfire (originals had 1.0L and 1.1L) the Sprite only weigh about as much as a sparrow's fart.
Heh, hard to imagine a sports car with 43bhp isn't it?

      A ‘69 AHS ran a 1275cc A series engine as standard.
