I was there w my 66 mustang and my dad was there w his 68 trilingual mustang. It was awesome driving the track. Have the poster up right here in my shop. Found a booklet on a scca race there at the swap meet in cedar rapids.
This was 10 years ago? Yikes. Braver man than I, seems a lot like rally racing not road racing! I appreciate your Sprite, my dad raced a mk2 sprite all during the 60s and 70s, he bought it cheap from a dealer he worked for when some guy brought it in and left it rather than pay the repair bill. Dad bought it from his employer, stripped, added a roll cage, painted it blue and raced it for almost 20 years. Unfortunately, the only part I have of that car are the doors. He built a Bugeye race car in the early 80s that I have, still trying to restore it.
The Sprite video was shot many years after the Cobra video. In the Cobra video GoPros were not a thing yet and I was filming with a camcorder mounted to the car.
It was an old G-Production race car I bought non-running. Logbook said it was a 2.53" Bore and 3.30" Stroke 1098. The you can see the car running with CVAR now in Texas and Oklahoma.
Must have been an amazing track in its day! Looks like a dangerous run now.
That’s a great view of the track.
Nice to see so many beautiful British cars on display too
Thanks for uploading! It's great to see a 'lap' of the circuit, which must have been something special in its heyday.
Ohhhhh... That was VERY NICE --Thanks Steve for putting a Smile on my face.
Looks like it has the makings of a perfect rally stage!
That A-series motor revs clean.
A great run around the track Steve.

Reminds me of the roads in western NY.
As a Midget owner, how could I not like this? Great drive!
How cool is that!
So rad!

I put stock wheels with street tires on it to be able to drive it around the course, it would not have worked with the race tires.
Looked like fun, even tho some of those potholes looked like "offroad", lol! Nice ride tho!! Thanx !
The Sprite is a better camera platform than that Cobra in the other video!

Where’s your helmet young man? 👮♀️
Lol !
Could have been the USA’s Nurburgring!
More like a rally stage than a race track. lol
What are the specs of this specific engine?

So, does all that earth moving equipment mean someone's bankrolling a comeback for Greenwood?
No the union trains it’s operators on that equipment there. They will not replace the asphalt of the track though
Little off road rallying
That track is 100% sketchy!
Well not bad for fifty year old asphalt.
