I learned a lot from your video as a fairly young kayak angler I have been getting better ever since I started watching your videos and I showed you to all of my friends at school!
That is awesome to hear, and thanks for sharing! If you'd ever like to tag along for a trip you are more than welcome to.
Brilliant vid, really helpful - thanks dude. Have just moved to Whangaparaoa after 35 years overseas and am going to give kayak fishing a go. Haven't a clue but thanks to your vids I'm slowly getting the idea! Great work.
Thanks Ross I really appreciate the feedback and support. I fish Whangaparaoa regularly, look forward to see you out there
@@DeltaKayakFishingNZ great video champ.
I hopes to met you out there soon.
Cheers

@@davewalker8647 thanks so much dave like wise!
The main issue I have in shallow water and sliders is snags. Otherwise same styles as you mentioned. If they are slow on the bite ill put some stinky on the hook. The main bonus for me is the huge variety of fish they catch...everything likes em.
Yeah that's very true! You never know what you are going to get. I always try to be very vigilante when fishing them in the shallows to avoid snags as best as possible.
awesome content, ill keep my eyes out for more.
Thanks David much appreciated! Next video out Saturday morning 🎣
Great video keep them coming. 😃
Thanks for your continued support Fishy!
Nice video Thanks.
Thank you very much Yilmaz!
Can I do shallow water slider fishing on a kayak horizontally, thank you...
What do you mean by horizontally? Like casting it ahead
@@DeltaKayakFishingNZ Yes, casting ahead (using lighter head about 15 grams), because I'm fishing at about 5 meters depth, thank you...
@@alivefaserce I have not tried casting a slider before but definitely give it a go. I have fished them vertically in 7 meters with success so you may be okay to fish vertically in 5 meters too
@@DeltaKayakFishingNZ I will try both casting and fishing vertically :))
nice video bro
Thanks man
Why do you put a float on your drift chute? Just curious.
The float comes as part of the Rob Fort Series drift chute. It prevents the chute from sinking too low (which becomes less efficient) and also makes retrieving it easier
@@DeltaKayakFishingNZ Thanks, I will have to make one shouldn't be too hard.
@@lilong02 no should be pretty easy
Nice video. just a quick question why do always set your sea anchor at rear of Kayak? it doesn't matter for slider fishing but I see you softbait also having your sea anchor at back. I am new to kayak fishing as well. I heard every talking about casting your softbait ahead of your drifting.
Thanks Alex. I'll often flick a softbait out the back if I am focusing on sliders. When doing this I usually use a curly tail/paddle tail style softbait. Having it out the rear means it gets pulled along with the kayak and presents a nice action in the water. I've found that I get quite a few hook ups like this. When I am working the softbait, I will always cast ahead of my drift as you suggested. Hope this helps!
@@DeltaKayakFishingNZ Thank you for sharing the behind sense. I will try the same next time.
Hey man do you often do the reverse and work softbait and drift a slider? Considering getting a setup
Hi Paul, yep I do this pretty frequently. I have a video coming out next Saturday of me softbaiting Narrow Neck and you'll see the slider in the rod holder (aka under my leg) quite a bit
I have my own fishing kayak can we go fishing together
Sure thing mate people are always welcome to join
