- This time I took the Kayak to Orewa to Hook Into some Shallow Water Snapper. The fishing was on fire in only 3 meters of water. Orewa is a fantastic fishing ground often overlooked by boaties. The real hero's were the gear!

If you don't mind me asking how far off the beach were you?
Between 500m to just over a km. Started around the rocks to the left hand side drifting to the next rocky point off Hatfield bro! Not much structure so I suspect the berley brought them in before it ran out bro👍

are lures better or bait and how do you catch so many fish i cant get any
They both have their place depends where your fishing too, in this one it’s shallow as so the berley brings them in, lures can be just as effective, I just like flicking them when it’s a bit deeper and with more current, just gotta have a crack and see what goes on the day🤙
