Ya telling me bro.. Since August last year! Still itching to get out but moved down the line and work and family just been flat out. Hoping to get out before the end of the year though!
hi I am a keen young kayak fisherman and I am based at waiake torbay and have recently been getting some nice fish around there and even got a ten pounder and my legal limit for snaps the other week but would like to try some other spots would you have any suggestions
First off great snapper for the area! My two go to spots are Narrow Neck and Army Bay. Narrow Neck produces pannies for me year round which is nice. Army Bay can be a bit slower but I've caught countless fish over 10lb there including one or two over 20lb
Love the vid mate. Do you ever do any mech jigging from the yak? Shoot me a message if you're ever looking for someone to come along, local to Army Bay and always keen for a paddle 🤙
Thanks mate! Yeah I do occasionally but generally go out to target big reds. I'd love to but recently relocated to the Manawatū! Need to find my feet down here
A 70cm snapper, nice:). You have a Gulp tub on your yak, are those Gulp or Zman soft baits you use, they don't appear to be chewed up:)...and what weight hooks do you like for those conditions. thanks for the clip, cheers
I mainly have the gulp tub there for ease of storage as it fits well on the tackle pod. I do tend to have better success with gulp baits, however as you eluded to, they do get a bit more beat up and end up going through lots of them so I mainly use Zman. Fishing in that depth I use 3/8 oz jig head. Rule of thumb is to use the lightest weight possible that still gets the softbait to the bottom
Have you chucked it in bro?....haven't seen a vid from you for a while!!!🤔🤔🤔
